Description of the Indian River vacation home rental

1 acre lot with Mullett lake access out the front door. Parking for 2-3 cars and a boat or snow mobile trailer. There is a large back yard with a fire pit area and deck off the family room.

The home was completely remodeled in 2008 with new wood floors in the living areas and carpeted bedrooms. The kitchen area has new counters and cabinets. The bathrooms have been completely re-done. The vaulted ceiling makes the kitchen, eating and living areas even more spacious.

The property is on a paved road on a pennisula. The mile walk or bike around on the road is very popular for kids of all ages.

Mullett Lk is a 19,500+ acre lake and part of the Inland Lake 40 mile waterway. There is access SW to Burt & Crooked Lakes via the Indian & Crooked Rivers and North to Lake Huron via the Cheboygan River. The property is about 1 1/2 miles via the lake from the mouth of the Indian River and about 9 miles from the Cheboygan River.

Snowmobile trails within 2 miles of the property, or out the front door onto the Lake. Rails and trails access is available across the Lake to Topinabee or 6 miles to Indian River.

Restaurants in Indian River, Vivos, Inn Between the Brown Trout and more. Accross the lake, 2 miles, to Topinabee and the Breakers Bar on M-27 or 9 miles to the 100 year old Hack-a-Ma-Tack at the mouth of the Cheboygan River.

This cottage was exactly as pictured. It was clean and well renovated. Everything worked except the TV! The owner told us that we could expect only two channels and intermitent reception! He was right! This is a cottage well-suited for people who have plans elsewhere. There's not much to do and access to the lake is limited, even though there is a slight lake-view through the front windows. The owners were not available the entire week, and we needed light bulbs and a place to leave the key when we left. I think a local contact for those minor issues would have helped. The cottage is very bright and airy. The master bath has a great jet tub, but one must step up quite high to enter. This could be a problem for people who are a bit physically challenged; however, the other bath has a shower. If a renter is unaware of MI weather, be advised that warm AND cold weather clotes are essential in summer, albeit, the furnace worked fine! A plus for snowmobilers! M. Johnson
