Description of the Indianola vacation home rental
Set in an eclectic neighborhood of cabins and homes, our fully furnished, high bank waterfront vacation rental, has a stunning southerly view, looking towards Seattle, Mt. Rainier and Port Madison bay. Our guest home is a perfect spot for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or to share with friends for golfing, scrapbooking, or any other fun activity.
On the upper level of this three story home there is one bedroom with a queen size bed, and access off of the bedroom to a deck that allows a birds-eye view of the surrounding area; there is also a charming sleeping alcove with two twin beds, and office space.
The main level includes a living /dining room area with propane fireplace stove, kitchen, washer/dryer, 3/4 bathroom, and a large deck from which you can enjoy the beautiful panoramic view.
The lower level has one bedroom with queen size bed, a separate living space with two full-size futons, a sun-room, a small kitchen, and compact 3/4 bathroom.
This is a comfortable guest home, where you can come up from the beach, brush the sand off your feet, and walk into the kitchen to grab a snack or drink. Sit on the deck and enjoy the view, or enjoy it from inside on those no-so-sunny Northwest days!
Indianola, Washington, is a charming beach community located in the North Kitsap area of the Kitsap Peninsula, established in the early 1900's as a vacation destination for nearby Seattle residents.
Transportation service to and from Indianola was provided by boats from the Puget Sound "Mosquito Fleet", utilizing our now historic Indianola Dock to both embark and disembark. Our dock is one of the few docks from that era still in use today, and although ferries no longer call at our Port, the Indianola Dock remains one of the focal points of our community.
Getting to Indianola is easy by taking a Washington State Ferry from either Seattle to Bainbridge Island or Edmonds to Kingston, or driving around via the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.
Indianola is fortunate to have the Indianola Country Store in our midst, providing staples, beverages, espresso, and acts as a gathering point for the community. We also have our own post office, our beautiful community clubhouse, built in 1930 and recently renovated, a charming outdoor pavilion, and of course, our 1/4 mile long beach, which is open to Indianola residents and their guests, and is accessed via several points in town.
The White Horse Golf Course, an 18-hole, Dye designed course open to the public, is just a 5 minute drive from Indianola. Also within a short driving distance of Indianola are the towns / cities of Kingston, Port Gamble, Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island; Silverdale is a 40 minute drive from Indianola, and offers all the conveniences of a retail center. Movie theatres can be found in Kingston, Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island and Silverdale; there is live theatre in Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island, and in all areas there are arts and craft galleries, antique stores, bakeries, and a wide variety of shopping and dining venues.
The Hood Canal Bridge, gateway to the beautiful Olympic Penninsula is just a short drive away, providing access to the cities of Port Townsend, Sequim, Port Angeles and Forks, as well as the recreational sites of the Dungenness Spit and Hurricane Ridge.
Bainbridge Island is also home to the Bloedel Reserve, Islandwood and the Bainbridge Island Winery, as well as several parks, such as Faye Bainbridge State Park and Battle Point Park. There is a lot to do and see on the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula's, but once you arrive in Indianola, you may not want to leave!
