Description of the Isabella vacation home rental
Beautiful 1600 sq. ft. year-around log home has the feel of a cabin yet all the amenities of modern living. Whether you enjoy the serenity of a walk through the beautiful boreal forest, the warmth of sitting in the cabin by the wood-burning fireplace, or the contentment of having breakfast at the lakeside picnic table and fire pit you are sure to enjoy your stay. The lake home is located in Lake County, Stoney River Township on North McDougal Lake, part of a chain of three lakes covering 849 acres. The property has 210 feet of shoreline at the southeast corner of the lake. The McDougal Lakes area is very quiet so jet skis, ATV's or large motor boats are out of character. However, canoes, kayaks, and fishing boats fit right in. A canoe is provided so you can explore the lake and Stoney River. Or, bring your own boat. There is a concrete-base boat landing 3 miles from the cabin and you can keep it at the dock on the property.

Watch the Chickadees, Nuthatches, Canadian Jays, and Humming Birds at the feeders. Sometimes the Chickadees, Nuthatches, and Jays will eat right out of your hand. Spacious decks and screened and covered porches allow you to enjoy all parts of the day. Sit in the warm sun with your cup of coffee in the morning; enjoy inviting water views throughout the day; and experience dazzling sunsets and listen to the loons in the evening. At night watch the stars pop out.

Ask about the White Wilderness dog sledding opportunity just five miles from the cabin.

Thank you for your interest!

Perfect Combination

April 28, 2010

We recently returned from the most perfect mini-vacation and can't wait to get back again! The cabin was just perfect... everything from the private dock with boat and canoe access to the fireplace and hot tub... all perfect. We did some hiking, grilling, bird watching, rowing, exploring, and even took a day trip up to Canada. It was the perfect combination of adventure and wilderness. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
