Description of the Island Falls vacation cottage rental

Beautiful cottage remodeled winter 2011. Located on pristine Pleasant Pond which is a crystal clear lake with some of the best salmon fishing in Maine. This is an unusual secluded cottage with 400' of lake frontage and 20' from the waters edge. Vajowa Golf Course is about 1/2 mile away offering 18 holes of golf and a restaurant with awesome seafood.

Cancellation Policy: cancel less than 30 days no refund
cancel more than 30 days 50% refund
Your reservation will be secured as soon as your $100 deposit is received. Mail to George Taylor,21 Sandtrap Road,Island Falls,Maine. The balance is due upon arrival.
Check-in after 2pm and check-out is 10am.
Security deposit of 300.00 is required and will be refunded if cottage is left clean and undamaged.
Weekly or monthly rentals preferred. No fireworks allowed. For the months of July and August there is a minimum of one week rental, all other times 3 nights minimum.

A Serene Retreat

July 5, 2012

I really enjoyed my stay at the lake front retreat. It was amazingly quiet. I was able to get 3G and cell phone reception. My first day there 2 deer came by and made repeated appearances. The water was clear but it was too cold to swim. The house was well equipped and the owners were very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.

A real sweet, quiet spot.

A bright sunrise on the front of the camp in the AM and shade from the heat of afternoon was perfect. The outdoor stone fireplace was real nice in the evening. The "camp" is beautiful inside with tile and hardwood floors and bright windows around the front. This camp has the amenities of home, but is right on the water with privacy to both sides. Shallow enough for littles to swim beside the dock and deep enough to dive off the end. We even spotted a large bass swimming by the dock. Golf and boat launch are real close by. Groceries and Post office with 10 minutes. The hosts are perfect, polite and helpful. We couldn't imagine a nicer spot for our next week at the lake.

Wonderful spot!

The interior is beautiful-- well-appointed, very comfortable, and clean. Kitchen fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Bathroom super clean. No camps near that were occupied. Triple lot, so plenty of space and privacy. Not far from main road-- easy to get to. Lovely view and sun entire day (with shady spots for those who don't like the sun). Nice dock and boat cradle. Water beautifully clear. Great swimming. Weekends could be busy with pleasure boats, tubing, etc., but mid-week it was very quiet. (A couple of jet skis out for a while, but they were down the lake a ways.) Very fine hosts-- accomodating, helpful, and just the right amount of friendliness.
