Area Info
Situated on a 21-acre wooded lot in the foothills of Jay Peak, the northernmost peak in Vermont’s Green Mountain Range. Most of the property is surrounded by hundreds of acres of undeveloped woods where moose, deer, bear and fox are common.

Our private road, “Carmel Rd,” begins at Route 100 and goes gradually uphill for about a mile and a half where it dead ends in the woods. We are the only year-round residence on the whole road.

All guests have access to all the grounds. There is a small pond you pass on the right as you drive up to our driveway and a year-round brook (“Maggie Brook”) just a stone’s throw beyond our driveway. The brook runs south of the Cottage past a campfire ring and then past the Finnish sauna in the south yard and then past our West garden and blueberry patch and into the woods. In some places it is deep enough to get seriously wet. You can hear its constant babbling while lying in bed at the Cottage or from the Loft balcony.

Just half mile to village store, snowmobile right onto VAST trail and Jay Peak Resort just 10 miles away.

Hazen's Notch cross-country ski trails are very nearby. Stowe with its famous Trapp Lodge, many shops and ski resorts is about 1 hour south on Route 100; Montreal is about 2 hours northwest (the Canadian border is less than 10 miles north), many lakes are within an hour (Carmi, Eden, Willoughby, Crystal, Memphremagog, Seymour, Salem, Maidstone).

Very Enjoyable Stay

January 7, 2014

We had a great time. Linda and Jim were very accommodating. Loved Jay Peaks skiing and we always had a nice warm cottage to return to. We made great home cooked meals and enjoyed a night in the wood burning sauna. It was exactly what I was looking for and I plan on returning.
