If downhill skiing and snowboarding is your passion, drive 6 minutes up the mountain and you'll be at Jay Peak Resort where you can get your "powder fix" or if you've never enjoyed these sports, sign up for ski school and in a couple of hours, their experienced staff will have you on the slopes in no time at all.

Brookside Farmhouse immediately takes you back to a time where the hours and minutes turn much slower. There is a special sense of peace and tranquility to be found in this restored farmhouse with its wide plank wood floors downstairs and its many windows looking out to the privacy and beauty of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom.

I recently stayed at the Brookside Farmhouse a few months ago as a summer family vacation. It was perfect for a large family with enough space for everyone. There is plenty to do without going too far even in the summer time. There is hiking, amazing views at the top of Jay Peak, kayaking into the sunset, swimming in a swimming hole, or just driving and looking at the amazing scenery. Vermont and the Brookside Farmhouse had much more to offer than I ever expected. I will for sure be returning. The hospitality was amazing.

If 10 stars were an option, this is it! Our mini family reunion was enjoyed by the 10 of us! We really enjoyed the beauty & comfort of this home and its peaceful location. The kids had loads of room to run freely, play indoors, and enjoy the wonderful weather. This place is a place where we will return and definitely somewhere I recommend.

pros: comfortably cozy; adorably decorated; had everything we needed; nice big foyer for ski/snowboard gear storage; great price; nice and accommodating host(s). cons: only two bathrooms for a house that sleeps 14; the arch/door ways are meant for people under 6 feet tall.
