Description of the Jenner vacation home rental
Stow away at this home by the sea for fresh sea air, rest, and rejuvenation. And enjoy the many activities in the area that include; diving, fishing, nearby beach coves, hiking trails, kayaking, golf, shops and restaurants within a thirty minute drive. Overlooking one of the most breathtaking views on the Sonoma coast, and offers a beautiful and serene getaway.
Just two hours north of the Golden Gate bridge, this home perched on an ocean bluff, is located between Jenner and Sea Ranch on the spectacular Sonoma coast. Pirates Cove offers 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, fireplace, kitchen outlooking to ocean views, and a small path leads down to beautiful Ocean Cove perfect for exploration (this path is steap and needs to be carefully navigated down to the cove.) Enjoy sitting on the deck, sipping wine, and taking in the ocean views. On a lucky day you'll see seals and pelicans playing in the cove below you.
Just a mile or so up the road enjoy the trails and beaches of Salt Point State Park, or drive the three miles to have dinner at the lovely Timber Cove Inn (or just cross the road for the more informal Ocean Cove Bar and Grill). While you're in the neighborhood, take the kids the few miles down the road to explore historic Fort Ross. Enjoy!
Area Information
Gerstle Cove
Just 1.7 miles north, Gerstle Cove offers wonderful hiking, great tide pools, fishing and lovely views. Gerstle Cove is a hot spot for Abalone Diving
Stump Beach
3 miles north is Stump Beach. It’s a walk down to the beach from the parking lot, but well worth it. Take the hike from Fisk Mill to Stump Beach
Rhododendrons
Another few miles north is the rhododendron gardens-gorgeous in the spring! Also, great hiking in the hills any time of year.
Sea Ranch
Just fifteen minutes up the road, offers a nice restaurant, beaches, etc. The Sea Ranch Golf Course located on the north side of Sea Ranch just before Gualala is a pretty good course and about a twenty minute drive from the house. See our guest book for more detailed information.
Fort Ross
About five minutes south, Fort Ross is a historical landmark-great for the whole family!
Gualala
Gualala is the closest town, cute coastal community with a large grocery store, restaurants, galleries and gift shopping.. .even a small spa. See our guest book for more detailed information.
Salt Point
Salt Point State Park has beautiful walking trails, picnicking, and fishing
Wine Country tours. You're about a hour's drive to Korbel Champagne Cellars in Guerneville which offers free tours of great interest. Thence to Westside Road, 3 minutes to a left turn (check you map carefully) and suddenly you are driving upon the glorious back roads through some of the most scenic and renown wine country on earth. You can make day of it with luncheon in Healdsburg or Calistoga in nearby Napa County. If you love the coast and fine wines, the combination of Hidden Treasure and the Sonoma and Napa wine country are compelling. Call us if you'd like to arrange for a tour guide.

relaxing family getaway

Thank you so much for opening your home to us. My family and I truely enjoyed our stay. The views from upstairs was amazing. The two master bedrooms also have wonderful views. There are so many little places for you to find quiet time. We went to the beach down the road and collected shells and other treasures. Over all enjoyed by all! We will be back. Thanks again.

Windsong at Sea Ranch

My two sisters had each lost their husbands in the last twelve months and we wanted to treat them to a getaway. We wanted them to just relax and unwind and think of nothing but the beautiful blue ocean and enjoy the scenery. We enjoyed staying at the Sea Ranch on the Sonoma Coast. Every room had a view. We were able to see the seals on the beach as well as collect sea shells. We enjoyed the beautiful weather, sunshine and sunsets each evening. We saw two deer and beautiful native plants. Barbecuing each night on the lovely deck overlooking the ocean was heavenly. I would like to thank the owners of the Windsong for letting us stay in their home. It had everything we needed for relaxation and rejuvenation. We hope to visit again soon. This was one of the most enjoyable vacations we have ever had. We came back relaxed and refreshed. We are already planning our next trip. That's how much we loved our recent trip.

Perfect family retreat

We had 6 adults and one child at the house. It was the perfect home for a 'together' family vacation. Everyone had their own space and the family room was large enough to have everyone together easily. The gourmet kitchen was a delight. The views from the home are spectacular. This area is brilliant for a quiet and enjoyable 'time out' from the hussle and bustle of daily life. We would absolutely come back to this area and can highly recommend the home as a great vacation rental. We were also very impressed with the service we received from the vacation rental agency managing the home.

Cliff Cove Chalet

For our 10th Wedding Anniversary, my wife and I decided to return to the area we were married (Sea Ranch). Having stayed at many Sea Ranch vacation homes over the years, we wanted to do something a little different and found this beautiful home overlooking a cove. Though we were a little apprehensive staying at a home outside the Sea Ranch property, those feelings quickly disappeared upon walking into the home. It is very spacious and has a spectacular view of the cove and the ocean beyond. To compare to Sea Ranch homes, we were quite happy to find that the kitchen was better stocked, there were towels and linen supplied as well as paper products. We found particular joy in the BBQ grill and the fire pit. Also, when not looking at the stars and moon in the evening...it was nice to have DirectTV on a nice flat panel and 802.11b Internet access good enough to check email and some websurfing. We enjoyed Stubbs Beach which was only a few miles up the road. Overall a very memorable time.

The past week-end experience was one of pure beauty as I reconnected with the ocean and all it's splendor. The house was perfect other than the fact that there was not window covering in the day bed room.That's where I slept. Pretty & Fun

Great home - private bedrooms, hot tub, walks on the beach. We loved the fact that we felt so comfortable and not 'sterile' (i.e. some rentals you feel like an intruder). There were TVs in each room and a nice flat screen with a sweet sound system. Kitchen was awesome with lots of seating for everyone. Private even though the path along the coast is very close. We saw seals, whales, deer, etc.

Breath Taking

The property was everything that was in the description. The view of the ocean was just breath taking. We arrived early Saturday afternoon, we had a group of 9 people 4 couples and a single. One of those couples were my mother and father which to top bedroom worked out great for them. I can't tell you the look on our faces onces we pull into the driveway. Everyone of us ran out to get a Ocean view and listen as we watched to ocean slam up against the cliff. The home was just beautiful, just breath taking. We have stay at several Sea Ranch homes and I can say that this was the most beautiful ones yet. I know we will be retuning in the summer so we can try out that Hot Tub. To sum it up PRICE LESS

2/10 Amazing Time...
What an amazing time we had!! My family and I enjoyed every moment we had there. At one point I was sitting in the hot tub with my daughter looking at the ocean and I had one of those moments when you feel really lucky in life. I cant wait until we come back. The Cliff Cove Chalet was a perfect retreat for us. What a stellar location! We were able to enjoy day trips to Gualala, Guerneville, and Bodega Bay. The home is quietly warm and welcoming, well-appointed, and unintrusive in it's location. It provided many vantage points for spectacular photography of the cove and Pacific beyond. The decor was charming and uncluttered. The kitchen was complete, and provided for some well-planned meals and libations!

Loads of Whales...
