One of our past guests describes Hidden Treasure best:
Hidden Treasure is a unique residence and location of breathtaking beauty, regardless of weather or season. The house is a perfect honeymoon destination or retreat for a couple looking to escape from the harried days of ordinary life. From the stunning, unique, wrought-iron bannister that dominates the home's core, to the manner in which the house was built directly into the hillside and the stupefying views from literally every room, Hidden Treasure is as much a wonder in its design as in its location. Perched on a bluff about 50 feet over crashing waves, the house offers great privacy, even though neighbors are within 100 yards on either side; the design of each lot is tasteful enough that many of the houses cannot be viewed from each other. True bliss is sitting in the hot tub, watching the waves, whales, birds, sunset, storms, seals or stars. Having stayed at many world class hotels, Hidden Treasure is in that class in design and locale especially. And the enormous high definition television and stereo don't hurt either.
Just 1.7 miles north, Gerstle Cove offers wonderful hiking, great tide pools, fishing and lovely views. Gerstle Cove is a hot spot for Abalone Diving
3 miles north is Stump Beach. It’s a walk down to the beach from the parking lot, but well worth it. Take the hike from Fisk Mill to Stump Beach
Another few miles north is the rhododendron gardens-gorgeous in the spring! Also, great hiking in the hills any time of year.
Just fifteen minutes up the road, offers a nice restaurant, beaches, etc. The Sea Ranch Golf Course located on the north side of Sea Ranch just before Gualala is a pretty good course and about a twenty minute drive from the house. See our guest book for more detailed information.
About five minutes south, Fort Ross is a historical landmark-great for the whole family!
Gualala is the closest town, cute coastal community with a large grocery store, restaurants, galleries and gift shopping.. .even a small spa. See our guest book for more detailed information.
Salt Point State Park has beautiful walking trails, picnicking, and fishing
Wine Country tours. You're about a hour's drive to Korbel Champagne Cellars in Guerneville which offers free tours of great interest. Thence to Westside Road, 3 minutes to a left turn (check you map carefully) and suddenly you are driving upon the glorious back roads through some of the most scenic and renown wine country on earth. You can make day of it with luncheon in Healdsburg or Calistoga in nearby Napa County. If you love the coast and fine wines, the combination of Hidden Treasure and the Sonoma and Napa wine country are compelling. Call us if you'd like to arrange for a tour guide.

We loved our stay at Hidden Treasure. All the amenities you need are there. The hot tub was amazing! What a view! It was a very relaxing and enjoyable 3 days!

Hidden Treasure is an incredible house. The views were spectacular, and the house was very unique. We loved the downstairs shower that was sort of intertwined with indoor waterfall. One of our favorite things was the placement of the hot tub. Having a glass of wine, and watching the sun go down from the hot tub was an experience we won't forget anytime soon! My only complaint was that one week wasn't enough! We will absolutely be back!
A real getaway from...

A really nice place with a really unusual design. No key when we got there but the door was unlocked anyways. Seems the previous guests left with the key! Key delivered the next day. Everything was nicely done and great views all around.
Well named - truly is a "hidden treasure"

My family and I just returned from a weekend away at Hidden Treasure - and continue to be amazed how relaxed we all feel after the two day get away. The place is so spectacular, and each time we visit the owner has completed a new upgrade. How many places are finished and furnished so beautifully, amazing location, complete privacy, only about 2 hours drive from home near SF, and then the luxury of a five star restaurant 5 mins down the road at Timber Cove. We've been coming to Hidden Treasure for the last few years, and will continue to make it our special getaway on the coast. Our routine is to stop at the Whole Foods in Petaluma and stock up on their fabulous seafood, and then have a cook out each night on the deck. The owner has installed a fabulous BBQ which makes it a no-brainer to sit there, cook dinner and enjoy a nice Sauvignon Blanc. And a special suggestion - on our way home we detoured to a local market at Fort Ross school - the locals were very friendly and we bought some delicious pastries for lunch. Look for the sign on the road near the Timber Cove Inn.

Totally Exceeded my Expectations
March 9, 2010
Have you ever been so excited about something you saw in an ad...and then when you saw it in person, it left you a bit lack-luster? Unfortunately it seems we've all become conditioned that "it's never as great as the pictures." NOT TRUE HERE. Upon arrival, when we looked at the home and the location, we just started laughing in such childish delight, it's almost embarrassing. We rented Hidden Treasure to celebrate our 1-year anniversary - so I was looking for a place that would really be special and romantic. We couldn't have dreamt of a better place. It really was almost too perfect. We would walk around the place and just say "Yeah...this is amazing." The highlights of the place, for us, was the charming deck, the hot tub, the view from the bed, and the cozy living room. We were only there for 2 nights, be we never left the property. There was no need. There wasn't anything, anywhere else that would have made our weekend any MORE romantic - so we stayed put. We loved it so much we discussed possibly making Hidden Treasure "our anniversary spot"... but next time, though, we'll definitely stay longer. If you can swing it - stay 4 days or more to really get the full effect of this magical place. I could go on and on... in a word... "SPECTACULAR". Thanks for making our 1-year anniversary more memorable than we could've expected.
Very good property, good service at check-in

A Whale of a Fine Vacation
August 24, 2009
Our stay at HT was heavenly. Sitting on the deck and/or in the hot tub, scanning the seas for whales was a thrill. Thursday was Whale Day. We saw saw at least two pods breaching, spouting and diving all day. The home is magnificent and beautifully appointed. A few suggestions: A railing on the deck might prevent a dangerous fall. A starter load of firewood (with a note where to buy more) would make for a cozier welcome. Finally, the stairs to the bedroom are very slick in stocking feet. While it would be a shame to ruin the look of the wooden staircase with a runner, you might consider a varnish with grit of some sort in it to make the steps safer. Would we come back to HT? Definitely yes. The beauty, tranquility and luxury of the property make it an ideal retreat from the roar and the hustle of the city. Soaking in the hot tub, feeling the cool ocean breeze on one's face and hearing the surf roar on the cliffs below is a rare and enriching experience. My one regret was having to come home after six nights at HT.
Beautifully Crafted Home...
What a beautifully crafted home; it is certainly unique. We had a most wonderful time here enjoying this idyllic stretch of the coast. A wonderful way to spend our 20th anniversary. Thanks for sharing
What an amazing home you have here! Could not imagine a better way to spend our first wedding anniversary. Thank you for sharing this special place with us, especially the hot tub! What a view! I hope to be back again. Novato, California
Thank you a million times over. This is the best getaway. What a great adult treehouse. We cannot wait to be back again. Sarah and Andy Sacramento, California
What an amazingly gorgeous retreat. The moment we arrived we were transformed by your homes tranquility. Thank you for sharing such a lovely and unique treasure. Here on our honeymoon we enjoyed lazy afternoons, and jaunts to local hidden beaches. We also loved the well-equipped kitchen and bedroom views, which afforded us with whale sightings. We will definitely look forward to our returned trip to Hidden Treasure. Connie and Ben Smith. San Carlos CA.
Just want to let you know that our stay at Hidden Treasure was AWESOME!!!The place is absolutely amazing and totally relaxing with stunning views from every room. Wow. We really enjoyed sitting in the hot tub watching the sea lions, as well as being able to see the stars lying in bed. It's absolutely the best vacation house ever. We enjoyed the kitchen which was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook. We did not even have to eat out. Booking with Jenner Vacation Rentals was smooth and easy. You guys were helpful and easy to deal with. Thank you! Jarrett and Renee
My advice for anyone considering staying here is - take the maximum number of days you think you would like to stay. Got the number? Now, either double or triple that number. This place "rocks"! both literally (see the cliff the house is built into and the indoor waterfall) and per the current slang. But be forewarned, the longer you stay, the less you will want to leave. I stayed a week -- that did not even begin to be long enough. The view, the privacy, the almost surreal quiet and the romantic ambience are incredible. I've stayed in some truly wonderful places up and down the California coast - this is now by far my favorite. As an added bonus -- while sitting in the jacuzzi - we watched whales jumping and slapping their tales and saw porpoises go by close in to the private cove. Enjoy!

Our family has rented vacation homes for the past twenty years, always taking meticulous care to choose those that will nurture and nourish us. Many have been special enough to bring us back time after time. However, in a unanimous vote, we declare your remarkable Timber Cove home the best ever. Everything about this home is aesthetically pleasing, from the incredible ocean views and restful sounds of the indoor waterfall to the thoughtful design and construction of each room and the house as a whole. The home enveloped and embraced us. We relished every moment and left reluctantly. Thank you for sharing your unique and extraordinary creation with us. We long to return. Gail, Matt and Kelsey
This spot had virtually all the ingredients for a romantic getaway -- privacy, views, unique character, outdoor jacuzzi, fireplace, great sound system and location, location, location.
