Description of the Jim Thorpe vacation home rental

The best of both worlds. This 4 bd., 1 1/2 ba. old parsonage is a few blocks from downtown Jim Thorpe. The house is a beauty. The woodwork inside is something to see. The home amenities include a washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, pots and pans, dishes, etc., along with cable television. Also available are blankets and bath towels. Sheets and towels will be provided. We will also provide a little bit of breakfast food to get you started on a weekly rental.

Outside, adventure abounds! The Switchback Bike Trail is literally in the backyard. You can take this trail to a lot of other bike trails in the mountains. Kayaking, rafting and tubing are just minutes away. Swimming is just four miles away at Mauch Chunk Reservoir which has a sandy beach, food and bathroom facilities. Glenn Onoko Waterfall is just 8 minutes away. You can also take a scenic train ride through the Lehigh Gorge. You can walk a few blocks to the train station or drive your car two minutes away. It's a beautiful ride. The Old Jail (The Molly Maguires) is just a few blocks away. A drive-in movie theater is about 8 miles away.

• Deposits: Because we look at this house as an old piece of furniture -an antique, and a piece of the history of Jim Thorpe, we request a security deposit. (the deposit will vary depending upon length of stay) The security deposit will be due immediately upon scheduling the house to rent in order to hold the dates for you.
