Description of the Jim Thorpe vacation home rental

Skiing is just around the corner. The house is 20-25 minutes from Blue Mountain.

The house is available for the New Year's Holiday weekend. The rental fee for the three days is $1,200.

Are you looking for a place within walking distance to downtown Jim Thorpe AND close to all outdoor activities? This home is just four blocks from downtown and has the switchback bike trail in the backyard.

The home has 4 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath and includes a built-in library with books for your reading pleasure.

The home amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, with all amenities, including a microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator, coffee pot, and garbage disposal. There is also a washer and dryer, along with cable television, some movie DVDs and an old Sega Saturn gaming system with a few games to bring you back to your childhood.

You will have to provide your own sheets and towels. There are two queen beds, one double, one twin and one pull-out queen couch (we will supply the sheets for the queen couch). Bed pillows are supplied. In case someone forgets a towel, we do have a few available.

We are now accepting credit cards.

The rental fee is $450 per weekend/$950 per week.
Holiday weekend prices vary depending upon the holiday.

A $200 security deposit and $60 cleaning fee is requested at the time of booking. Both deposits are refundable within 10 days of your departure as long as the house is left in its original condition.

This is a non-smoking home.

Must be at least 25 years of age to rent the house.

Area Description

Outside, adventure abounds! Mountain biker's dream! The Switchback Bike Trail is literally in the backyard. You can take this trail to a lot of other bike trails in the mountains.

Winter is right around the corner!

Winter sports are within a half an hour away. Blue Mountain, Big Boulder and Jack Frost are the closest resorts.

Summertime sports are kayaking, rafting and tubing which are just 15 minutes away. Swimming is just four miles away at Mauch Chunk Reservoir which has a sandy beach, food and bathroom facilities. Glenn Onoko Waterfall is just 8 minutes away. You can also take a scenic train ride through the Lehigh Gorge. You can walk a few blocks to the train station or drive your car two minutes away. It's a beautiful ride. The Old Jail (The Molly Maguires) is just a few blocks away. A drive-in movie theater is about 8 miles away.

We enjoyed our stay. We were 6 adults and 2 children (ages 3 and 6). Everything in the house was in good condition and worked as expected. The evenings were cool enough that we never needed to turn on the air conditioners.
