Charming New England Farmhouse In Jonesport, a small Maine fishing village. This 150 year old home has been updated and tastefully decorated with all the modern comforts and amenities of home.....room for everyone! Satellite TV with DVD/CD/VCR players. Two separate sitting rooms to escape with a favorite book or movie.

Enjoy the feeling of outdoors without the elements in a sunroom overlooking Sawyer's Cove!

Propane grill and patio furniture for cookout needs. Fresh lobster a few minutes walk.

Two car garage. Need a mooring for your boat during your stay? This Home has that, too.

Area Information

Monkey's Fist? Well, a monkey's fist is a special knot mariners often used on the throwing end of a life line. That's what we think of this place. When we need a little help, we use this life line out here in Jonesport to get back on track and grounded. Our hope is that you will feel the same way. So relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy your stay.

Located on the Coast in Downeast Maine, half-way between Canada and Bar Harbor and directly adjacent to lobsters and blueberries. Visit the eastern most point in the U.S. or travel on to New Brunswick. Go inland to Baxter State Park. Hiking on Great Waas Island, or golfing are close by. Visit a local winery, go flyfishing or deep sea fishing and finally, journey to sea for whale watching or viewing puffins. The local food is fabulous. Friendly town folk make you feel right at home. Portland, Maine, is about 4 hours away, Boston about 6 hours.

Sweet place

The house was so welcoming we felt at home when we walked in. We were there for 4weeks and I don't think we left the House the 1st week except to food shop. We meet great folks. The church bell rang the hours, it was wonderful. We got great pictures when the fog was in the harbor . Great time

This was quite a find. Beautiful place, great area. Just what we needed to getaway and unwind, relax. Just a short walk to the dock and get fresh from the boat Lobsta! The place had everything you needed for a lobsta dinner with instructions as well. I would return to this special place every year if i could.

Monkey's Fist - Your Second Home...

We have been coming to Maine for the last 12 years, to visit family and enjoy down-east Maine. We have stayed in guest rooms with family, B&B's, hotels, motels, campgrounds, RVs and more. This is the first place, in a long time, where we felt like we could relax and enjoy our vacation, without being in the way of family, or being in a grungy motel room. The Monkey's fist was bright, clean, airy, comfortable and well decorated, with all the amenities of home. With two small children, we were able to enjoy our time, while the kids played in the back lawn or in the screen porch, or even chilled out with a family movie night. We are so impressed with this rental, we are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Shelly and Gary for sharing your home with us.

Monkey's Fist---Beautiful

The Monkey's Fist rental house was just PERFECT. The house had everything we needed and the view was wonderful. It was very relaxing. The town (Jonesport) had more than expected, we had lobster everyday, took hikes, walked beaches, saw light houses and was just a short drive to Acadia National Park. I am already planning my trip next year but will spent more time there and fit in a trip to see the Puffins and seals. This was my first time visiting Maine and WILL be back next year, hopefully be staying in the same house, which again was just beautiful and quaint! Thanks so much for making our trip perfect! See you next August.
