Description of the Jonesport vacation home rental

The Farmhouse at Sawyers Cove:
Welcome to the perfect Maine get-away. This property has a sense of privacy and seclusion even though you can walk to town. Enjoy the 300 feet of waterfront – the bluff overlooking the cove, the rocky shore, or the shell beach – it’s all yours.

On the main floor is a spacious kitchen with patio facing the water, a large dining room, sunny living room, an office/fourth bedroom, the laundry, and a powder room. Upstairs, the house has a full bathroom and three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a sitting area overlooking the cove. The queen beds have new quilts and bed linens, cozy duvet-covered down comforters, pillow-top mattresses, and plenty of pillows. The third bedroom is designed as a bunk-room for the kids. Jonesport is an unspoiled lobstering village on the coast of Maine. Located on a 12-mile peninsula “Down East” – in the middle of some of the last remaining undeveloped coastline. Day trips from Jonesport are hassle-free and as varied as your imagination: Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Campobello Island (FDR's summer get-away), Quoddy Loop lighthouses. Locally, hike the Nature Conservancy's Great Wass Island trails, go antiquing, swim on the sandy beach, eat fresh lobster, crab and wild blueberries. There is 300 feet of waterfront on this property. The shell beach provides easy in and out for your kayak or canoe. As in all waterfront property Downeast, the cove is tidal. Watch the clammers, or dig for your own.

Great Wass Island– Just over the bridge to Beals Island lies a 1,579 acre Nature Conservancy preserve with hiking trails that leads to spectacular pristine waterfront and lighthouse views.

Coast Guard Station, Jonesport– a great place for kids to see the Coast Guard up close.

Lighthouses: Visit lighthouses of the “Quoddy Loop”

Acadia National Park– A 47,000 acre National Park with one portion located near Bar Harbor and another located near Gouldsboro. Spectacular. Fabulous!

Bar Harbor – Adjacent to Acadia National Park. Full of shopping and tourist activities. A great day trip.

St. John’s in Canada– an extremely charming small town on the water with restaurants, shops – also a great day trip
