Not my favorite place

March 6, 2014

The pool and shared area is great. I am in a studio unit inhabited by a gecko who was living in the cupboard and after a couple of weeks died in the cupboard. There were ants in the unit when I moved in. The carpet had a yucky smell and the bathroom window wouldn't close. The downstairs tenant was unpleasant and complained about the noise from my three year old. I assume he wasn't a morning person. My son is in bed between 8-9pm every night after which time I have to also be very quiet because he is asleep. The drains were also slow and the neighboring apartments foliage was encroaching on our lanai. Overall not the best experience we've ever had! Location is good. Pool and common area is beautiful.

Saw Whales from the Lanai

January 22, 2014

What a great place to stay! We had a great view of the bay and saw whales breaching several times with the binoculars the owners provided. Nicely furnished, clean (no bugs!), updated, and well-stocked with most things you might want from snorkeling stuff to tools. Everything was so wonderful I'll mention the two things that weren't. The TVs are small and 2 are old tube kind. But if you're spending a lot of time watching TV in Hawai'i you should be ashamed anyway. Second, the otherwise comfy master bed creaks a lot and bangs on the wall when you're having sex on it - something you might not want if your son is sleeping upstairs like ours was. We tried stuffing a towel between the wall and headboard but it only helped a little. But if you like doggy-style the large chest at the foot of the bed comes in handy - you can put it right in front of the large mirror to "enhance the view". Also should mention the front door key stuck a lot but repair guy came quickly when called and fixed it within 20 min.

Great time in Hawaii!!

February 25, 2013

First I was very happy with the location. The condo is very clean and everything is there to make you feel 'home'. Dealing with the owner was easy and he made everything possible so we felt confortable to rent and enjoy. Great time in Hawaii!!! I will rent this place again!

Just like home, but near the beach!

January 19, 2013

We really enjoyed our stay in this roomy condo near the beach. One of our party walked down to snorkel every morning. We also used the towels and boogie boards to have fun at Hapuna Beach. It was warmer and more humid than we expected, so it was harder to cool off the bedrooms since the windows open into the hallway. But we finally figured out that we could leave the front door open with the screen door locked to get some air moving. We were too busy to use the living room and tv, but we did use the dining room table for a few games of Farkle at night. We all loved eating breakfast on the ocean front balcony. It was nice to be able to wash and dry a load of laundry too.

A nice surprise

February 28, 2011

Loved the location. The room we had was well equipped, even for cooking. No real complaints other than the wifi was expensive as you had to purchase separately if you wanted it in your room. Hotel is a little worn, but still quite nice.

The picture is a little deceiving. It was nice and clean. We had moved into here after staying in a suite at a luxury resort, so we were a little spoiled. Wish the weather had cooperated more.

Good for budget travelers

September 21, 2008

We cannot afford the pricy resorts nor eating out for every meal, so this is a good alternative for those of you in the same boat. This is indeed a clean, small unit for 4, with a pool for the complex along the lava rock shore and a good laundry room. You get the basics in dishes, utensils, glasses, pots/pans but nothing more for those of you who are used to using kitchen items left over from previous tenants (cone coffee filters were provided). The a/c has trouble cooling the back bedrooms but there is a floor fan we used to push the cold air along. Inquire about the back screen door (fell off the tracks constantly) and sliding door (really hard to slide open) maintenance before you take this unit in addition to the tub drain (drained slowly). I suggest renting a car as the walk is along a busy street into town and there is no grocery store within walking distance. The owners were very quick and helpful in response to any e-mail queries.

Fun Trip

May 10, 2008

My wife and I stayed at this condo last year and we just stayed again for a week in April. Good location we enjoyed being able to walk to town for Dinner. The pool was nice and is right on the ocean which really makes it feel like your in Hawaii. Good clean unit for the price can't wait until next year. Mark & Carrie

Not as it seems

May 10, 2008

Newly renovated? I don't think so. Kitchen was quite old - only two of four burners worked on stove. Carpets very dirty. Bathroom - leaky faucet, slow drain in tub, problem with tiny bugs in the bathroom, mildew on shower curtain. We were quite disappointed. Good point was proximity to Kailua.

This condo was very comfy for us, we really did'nt spend to much time there as we were on the move everyday. It was very clean and affordable. A good place to hang our hats at the end of our busy days. Although we did'nt use the pool area we checked it out and found it to be very clean and cared for. This condo really has no ocean veiw if that is what you are looking for. You are facing a parking lot but not to far to the swimming pool which is on the ocean. Not a real quiet location you can hear your neighbors through the walls. A good chillin place but if you plan on spending a lot of time there you may want to look elsewhere, its not a resort. We basically packed our gear for the day and came back in the evening to sleep. It really fit our needs. I would recommend it to the on the go active people who need a place to keep your gear and food and a comfy place to sleep, it would have felt real small if we had children there, but we didn't.
