Description of the Kailua Kona vacation home rental

This is a great home and you'll love it. We have had many say that they felt calmed and relaxed as soon as they entered, "the home has a great feel to it".

Situated in an Upscale neighborhood and on a quiet street, beautiful gardens, and covered carport (porte-cochère) entry (Keeps your car shaded and cool). Just over an acre of gardens and mature tropical foliage. This home has an open living area layout with vaulted ceilings in the Great Room, Kitchen, and Dining Room, as well as in the Master and 1 of the other bedrooms. The Master Suite has dbl sink, shower tub, small private lanai, and walk out to main lanai and hot tub. This home comfortably sleeps up to 9, with 2 King, 1 Queen, and 1 Full with daybed. Additional floor futons available upon request. Perfect for a couple that enjoys their privacy, a large family, or 3-4 couples sharing expenses.

This home features a huge west facing (Sunsets!) covered lanai with a large 6 person hot tub, an additional seating and dining area, and a small bar as well. The lanai faces the large pool/sun deck with a 35 X 18ft pool, plenty of sun furniture and large BBQ area. The Home, Lanai, and Pool are all on the same level. This is NOT a "bare bones" rental, it is well equipped, well decorated, and well furnished. Home is owner occupied for several months a year, so it has many extras. It will feel like your own place! Kitchen is large and VERY well equipped and has an additional bar/counter that seats 4, inside and outside dining areas each seat 6. Many extras provided with this home, beach equipment, assorted high quality snorkle gear, and boogie boards too! Also a nice assortment of family or childrens games too. This home includes Phone, WiFi Internet, Cable TV (2), DVD/VCR, Stereo, CD Player, Full Kitchen, Microwave, stove/oven and an additional toaster oven, Dishwasher, large Refrigerator, seperate Ice Maker, Blender, spices/condiments, barware, all cookware, utensils, and sundries, plenty of Towels and Linens provided, Laundry Room with supplies, Washer & Dryer, Pool (Private), and Gas Grill. We strive to provide everything you would need. This is a No Smoking home.

Twice weekly Pool and Spa maintanance included, pre-arrival grocery shopping available at actual cost. There is a small caretakers cottage located on the lower 1/4 of the property. They are quiet and unobtrusive, but are there for any questions or advice you may need!

Rates vary depending on season, length of stay, and number of guests. Generally, shown rates are for up to 4 adults. Kids stay free! We do have a 5 night minimum stay. Special rates may apply for Holidays and the Ironman Triathalon. E-mail us for a quote.

Area Description

Beautiful tropical styled vacation home just 2.5 miles from the airport. Located on the gentle slopes of Mt. Hualalai at the perfect elevation of about 800 feet. Gorgeous Mountain, Pacific shoreline & sunset views! Minutes to town, but away from the traffic, crowds, bugs, & the HEAT of downtown Kona at sea level! Our guests rave about this being the perfect location!

There is so much to do nearby including: Beaches, Biking, Golf, Fishing, Historical Sights, Horseback Riding, Restaurants, Cinemas, Bowling, Museums, Sightseeing, Swimming, Snorkeling/Diving, Boating, Sailing, Surfing, Parasailing, and of course, Shopping!

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed staying at [the Sunset Home]. Everything was awesome. The beds were very comfortable and all of them had extra pillows. Two of our teenage boys were too big to share a bed so in the closet was a fold-a-bed for him to use with additional pillows and blankets.
The pool and hot tub were great. We were asked to cover the pool up every night to keep the heat in and it worked great. The cover is on a pull string and two of us were able to do that every night in less than 30 seconds. There was also an abundance of beach towels for us to use. We would not have had to bring any.
The kitchen was well stocked… The best part about your house were all the little things that we didn't realize came with it. Boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach mats, beach towels, coolers… Everything was wonderful!
