Our family stayed in Kona to fish for a few days and relax in the beginning of August. My husband and I and our two teenage boys stayed at Kamoa Beach House. What a perfect place we found! The surf, the sunsets, are only part of this great place. We watched surfers and locals catching fish from the porch. The location was only but a five to ten minute drive to the downtown to find great restaurants and shopping. There is more shopping other that downtown. The owner recommended really good pizza from Bianelli's Itallian Restaurant in a shopping center with more restaurants and grocery stores. We really enjoyed being here. This house has fabulous views and is clean and has everything you need to enjoy your vacation. If you can't find it, the owners with be glad to recommend where you can get it!!

Perfect Place for Us

Our family of four (60-something parents and 20-something kids) stayed here for a week in May. We loved it! Spent much of our time on the lanai between forays exploring the Big Island. This property is perfectly situated to get into Kona for some nightlife and restaurants, head out to the beaches, go golfing or sightseeing. We did it all and loved coming back to this lovely spot on the water. There are flowers, birds, surfers, sunsets and even a family of mongoose. Grilling fresh fish and dining on the lanai as the sun set was pure pleasure. The house is quite private but not isolated. It is vintage Hawaiian with several lovely recent upgrades - the lanai, second bathroom, etc. Beds were comfy and kitchen well-equipped, the house and property are well maintained. It is right on Ali'i Drive so there is some traffic noise but a privacy fence hides you from the road. And we thought a bit of noise was a reasonable price to pay for being right on the water. There is a path leading to the bay at a small private cove with beautiful surf. We plan to return to spend more time just hanging out, relaxing on the lanai!

Paradise! A world away in your dreams, but available to you at very affordable prices.

Please read in detail the owners description of the area and the amenities included with the house.... Then read it again to let it all sink in. There's so much history in that area and you will overlook it all from the huge lanai. If you're not snorkeling, surfing or shopping in the nearby farmers markets or in the hub of downtown Kona, you will spend your afternoon and evenings watching superb surf (and surfers), occasional whales and the most beautiful sunsets to be seen anywhere. You will fall asleep to the the sound of the surf and you will awaken to the same, punctuated by the sounds of the numerous, and very vocal tropical birds, combining songs heard nowhere else but in Hawaii. This is an opportunity to enjoy a one of a kind experience, like no other, that you will remember for a lifetime. If you can make it happen, please do, it will be a wonderful experience.

This was a perfect house for our family. We ate every meal on the porch watching surfers and sunset. The house is simple and comfortable with the most amazing view and location to all activities. Experienced surfers can enter right in front of the house. Beaches are just a short distances away. The new porch is where you will spend all your time just watching the ocean and surfers. We want to rent again next year.

This family gathering spot was one of the best experiences we have had in our many visits to the Big Island. Lots of outdoor space and privitcy. We almost lived on the spacious porch, eating all of our meals outside and watching ocean activities all day. The house is clean, comfortable and simple in the old Hawaiian style. We will be reserving this house again next year. It is located close to everything. What a gem!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this home. I would definately recommend staying at this property to anyone. It was better than expected. Beautiful views, comfortable, clean, and perfect vacation setting but makes you feel at home at the same time. Its only a few minutes from downtown Kona and close to many fun activities. We would definately rent this property again!
