Conveniently located, we are close to everything, but feel "away from it all". Our ohana (in-law unit) is a truly beautiful place, spacious, quiet, and affordable with complementary Kona Coffee and tropical fruit.

At 900' elevation our ohana is comfortably cooler than sea level. Ideal for sleeping and relaxing after outings to the beach or shopping in town where daytime temperatures are 85 degrees.

Breakfast in your Time Zone.
Many of our guests come to us from the Mainland & we welcome them with goodies like banana, papaya, cereal, soy milk, coffee and tea so you can eat when you are ready. You may also pick fresh fruits from trees in season like lemons, mango, and papaya.

All the comforts of home.
Our well-stocked Ohana offers everything that you need during your stay. The well-quipped kitchen features everything you need to enjoy a quiet evening at home: gas stove & oven, full size refrigerator/freezer, micro wave, toaster oven, blender, coffee mill and coffee maker, pots and pans, rice cooker, salad spinner & cooking utensils for preparing yummy meals at home.

Enjoy fresh-brewed Kona coffee while preparing for the day's adventures on the patio (lanai) surrounded by tropical palms. Or come up for sunset on our shared lanai upstairs, as we watch for the green flash as the sun sinks into the ocean.

Beach gear, coolers, umbrellas, fins, towels, beach chairs are all available for your convenience, as are the the washer and dryer.

My family fell in love with the beauty of Hawaii and the Aloha spirit. Guests often tour the island & come back to us before returning home. To date, ours is their favorite stay. We are convenient for arrivals and departures, just 7 minutes door-to-door to Kona Airport (KOA).

The best beaches in Hawaii are minutes away. 12 minutes to Kua Bay, with pristine turquoise water, sandy bottom, and white sand beach. Other beautiful beaches are a short ride up the coast. Hapuna Beach is one of the "top ten" beaches of the world. Swim, relax on the beach with a good book, snorkel, swim with the giant turtles, plan your next adventure.

Shopping:
We are 10 minutes from Costco, 12 from downtown with a fantastic Farmers' Market where I buy more local fruits and vegetables than I can carry for $20! Stroll Alii Drive with its lovely shops and beach front restaurants.

Dining:
From our favorite beach front dining to the best luau, to hidden local treasures. Hawaiian, plate lunch, Indian, Mexican, Japanese, French, Italian - it's all here!

Day trips to Volcano, Hilo, and Hawi are all a view-filled ride away. Golf with ocean view is six minutes away. Snorkeling, daytime and nighttime dives, walks to see ancient petroglyphs, and dips in hot springs are all within reach.

Art galleries in Holualoa and Hawi, with restaurants and coffee shops provide wonderful local adventures.

ATV and zipline tours, horseback riding and golf, tennis and swimming at the free olympic-sized community pool. Wow! where do you want to start!

Travel assistance: We are happy to provide tips on local sites, spots to eat, "must see" places to go--or give you complete privacy. We supply double copies of Hidden Hawaii, the best book about the Big Island, along with lots of other travel information. I can also provide a list of links to local spots you might like to visit on the Big Island.
