Vacation Rental Description

Savor the privacy and quiet restfulness of "Hale Pueo" in beautiful Kohala Ranch. Located on 3+ acres of ocean-view ranchland, this spacious 3800 square foot home provides an ideal setting for families or friends looking for a vacation away from the stresses of everyday life.

Enjoy stunning views of the ocean and daily sunsets from the house or lanai. No reservations needed for tennis on your very own court or a vigorous swim in the 45 foot long pool. If by chance you want to wander off the property, world class beaches, golf, restaurants and shopping are a mere 10 minute drive on the coastal road.

The home boasts three bedrooms and three baths, plus nanny quarters/office, AND a 600 square foot guest house with private kitchenette and bath.

Area Description

Kohala Ranch is a 4000-acre gated community just north of the major Kohala Coast resorts. World-class beaches, renowned golf courses, and every water sport imaginable are just a short 10-min. drive away. This is the dry side of the driest island, so you will never have a rained-out vacation.

The Big Island is home to a tremendous variety of plant and animal life. Boating, snorkeling, diving, surfing, nature studies, hiking, horseback riding, botanical gardens, and an active volcano are the main attractions on this, the largest of all the Hawaiian Islands.

You can also visit the two main towns on the island: Kailua-Kona (about a 50 min. drive) and Hilo (about a 2-hour drive) are fascinating in themselves. Kona is the main seat of island tourism, with all the art galleries, tourist shops, and visitor amenities. Hilo is just the opposite, with a colorful, local, laid-back flavor that is unequaled elsewhere in the islands.
