Description of the Kapoho vacation home rental
Located on the very south east point of the Big island of Hawaii.
Best snorkeling on the Big island, and the safest also.
Huge area, containing at least 100 individual volcanic tidepools. Deep or shallow, all are loaded with tropical fish and marine corals.
This is a must experience adventure if your staying on the Big island.
Our home is awesome. It's over 4000 sq ft, but, we only use upstairs as our living quarters, so the living area is 2350 sq ft.
Outside wrap around covered walkways lead to our ocean view lanai and star view terrace.
Large vaulted ceilings with large open beam construction.
tile floors, ceiling fans in all rooms, cable tv, huge towering cathedral ceiling over the living room area.
All bedrooms have slider glass doors that lead out to our ocean view lanai.
Nicely landscaped, lush tropical community with no hotels, motels, traffic or large tourist crowds.
Our closest town is Pahoa. Here you'll find everything you'll need for a great vacation. Including fine dining.
Our home rests only a four minute walk from the Kapoho tidepools, and only 500 feet from the ocean.
Please take a good look at pics below, because, as you can see, Kapoho is a tropical remote paradise. Unlike that of Hilo or Kona, or oahu, we are isolated, remote, and we are suurounded by papaya and orchid farms.

Now this home was built and by my son and I. It took five years, but is finally finished, and this last year is the first time we have offered it as a vacation rental.

Area Description
Surrounding our community is tropical geo thermal tidal ponds called the Ahalaunai warm ponds. There's pohiki bay, kalapana black sand beach, kehena black sand beach, which will bring all of you old timers back to the 60's.
Close to us is the P'uu'oo lava flow into the ocean, which must be seen from our side of the Island. This alone is worth coming to the Kapoho area.
We have beautiful coastal drives, rainforests, and we are only one hour from the volcano national park and Moana loa observatory. Hilo is about 40 minutes.
Coming to the kapoho tidepools is like coming to the largest ocean acquarium imaginable. Kapoho tidepools is perfect for kids of all ages.

Because we are not in the "limelight of Hawaii", not many folks have ever heard of kapoho. But, once they experience this remarkable area, they are certainly amazed at this rare discovery.
