Area Description

Located on the south shore of Moloka'i, this is a rural, quiet place. Ocean on one side and impassable mountains on the other. At night there is no light pollution except the breathtaking views of Maui at night. During the day you see Maui and Lana'i from your lanai!

You are near Halawa Valley going east. Kaunakakai is west the only "city" on the whole island! Going up you can visit the lookout and see down into the sad but beautiful leper colony called Kaulapapa. You can even ride mules down the 1600 foot drop to the colony itself!

At Kaulapuu you find the Mule Skinner Coffee plantation. Mule Skinner Coffee has surpassed the more familiar Kona Coffee has being Hawaii's best!

On the far west of the Moloka'i you can see Oahu in the distance and see La'au Point. A place that the local people have saved from development after protracted protests.

Come visit the best of the best islands for relaxation and quite. A true vacation in Hawaii that is not Wai'ki'ki insane!
