Description of the Kealakekua Bay vacation home rental

Kealakekua Hale is a beautiful and spacious vacation home standing on the water’s edge,This five-bedroom home still retains much of the same Aloha feeling with all the large picture windows open to the evening air, you can still hear Hawaiian guitar players in the neighborhood. This hale (Hawaiian for house) is the perfect destination for those who want to know Hawaii as the Kamaina (residents) do, and want to be as far Kealakekua Hale is as far away from the packaged and caricatured Hawaii of Waikiki as possible.
Kealakekua Hale has five bedrooms, sleeps up to 12, and has become a favorite gathering spot for friends and family members scattered by work and marriage. Available by reservation only, few places in the world provide a more intimate and comfortable place to call home for a week or more.

A favorite spot of Hawaiian Royalty, Kealakekua Bay is a tranquil bay that envelopes the beauty, peace and tranquility of Hawaii and the true feeling of Aloha.

The perfect environment for large gatherings such as family reunions, corporate retreats, retreats, landmark celebrations such as birthdays or anniversaries or just a great place to escape for a while and enjoy nature. Watch Spinner Dolpins, Green Sea Turtles and Rays right from the lanai while sipping a tropical drink or enjoying a sunset barbeque.

Each bedroom suite has a private bathroom to ensure privacy while the gourmet kitchen and great room offer an incredible gathering spot to enjoy the panoramic views of historic Kealakekua Bay.

The kitchen is well-equipped with several sets of dishes, ample glassware and the cupboards are well stocked with many condiments. There is a large laundry room, family room, great room which consists of the kitchen, dining area, eating bar, living room and expansive lanai with 30' long sliding glass doors to take in the indescribeable and ever-changing views. There is a video and cd library to accent the many tv's, vcr's, dvd players and stero system.

There are two tandem and one single kayak for guests to enjoy for a paddle accross the bay, snorkel equipment, water shoes, boogie boards and so much more are all complimentary to our guests. Gas BBQ on upper lanai is a great place to fire up some gourmet or simple meals, whatever your taste buds desire. The large lawn area overlooks the bay and is the location of many weddings, parties and other functions. Oh, and don't forget, the water's edge is just 30 feet from the lanai (deck) so you never have to worry about nothing to do. It is all right outside your doorstep!

Area Description

The Kealakekua area is naturally defined by the crystalline waters of Kealakekua Bay, blessed in diversity of people and natural beauty, it enjoys a climate that is mild even by Hawaiian standards. Kealakekua Bay and the surrounding area are rich in history, both before and after the arrival of Captain Cook. The greater Kealakekua-Captain Cook area calls to be explored fully, from underwater wonders of Kaawaloa Cove, to the lunar landscape of Mauna Kea observatories, to the culturally and spiritually significant temple Hikiau Heiau dedicated to the God Lono.

While the bay with all its water activities is without doubt the star attraction, the coffee plantation dotted hillsides are lush with verdant beauty, and the tropical townships ripe to be explored. Guests of Kealakekua Hale do not want for things to distract them, they wish for more time in this Hawaiian vacation home.

Owner Supplied Testimonials
“We loved sharing your special home and its spectacular setting – how much better can it get than your own private cove replete with performing dolphins? We‘ll miss waking up to the sound of the waves, but will have great memories to take with us back to California – Thanks!!!”
Merv and Sid, Monterey, CA
“The most incredible spot, the most incredible week – sun, tropical breezes, coral reefs, snorkeling, fish finding, spending time with great friends. It doesn‘t get any better than this!”
Elyse J., Salinas, CA
“We have had the most wonderful week in your lovely home – two amazing trips on friend/neighbor‘s canoe and some of the BIGGEST waves to visit the cove in years, and front row seats for the surfers! Your house is filled with the special spirit of Aloha, thank you for sharing it with all of us. Warmest Aloha”.
The McMahon Family, Carmel, CA
“This has been the best week ever. We had 3 generations here all together – that in itself was a feat. The week was perfect. The house is outstanding!!! Too many dolphins to count – one flying fish. Turtles 3 or 4 every day. A ride in the glass bottom boat. Snorkeling for the first time ever for this almost 60 year old. Kayaking as well. Hawaii had no disappointments – my first trip ever. This place really knows (your house) how to please it‘s renters. Many, many thanks and we will be back again! We also went to a luau at the Sheraton – food was OK – show was very good! Thanks and Aloha”.
The Patterson‘s, Shoffstall‘s, and Spalding‘s, Vacaville, CA, Brunswick, GA, Walnut Creek, CA, San Jose, CA Seattle, WA
“Thanks doesn‘t say enough – you‘re incredible for sharing your home. We celebrated our first granddaughter‘s 1st Birthday, ate fresh albacore, met many interesting locals, had shiatsu massages, toured a small coffee farm, snorkeled, kayaked, swam. What more could we ask for? The views are spectacular, and unforgettable. We will have many dreams of our experiences and ours of possibly returning.
