Immaculate Country Cabin - A short walk (#27815)

Kearney, Nebraska

Description of the Kearney vacation cabin rental

KEARNEY, NEBRASKA

CABIN: Comfy. Convenient. Country-setting. (There's even a cappuccino machine provided!!)

Newer, one bedroom, fully equipped cabin, with one private bedroom, a loft (for storage or sleeping bags) and two sofa-sleepers. Fullsize bath, frig, stovetop, and convection microwave. Linens, towels, and coffeemaker (and coffee!), dishes, pots & pans provided. Great little back porch for a quiet sit, outdoor patio table and six chairs make a comfy picnic spot.

The cabin sits right on a farm pond stocked with large-mouth bass, sunfish, catfish, and carp. As much "catch and release" fishing as you want; however, we are now allowing guests to keep their larger catches so bring your bait!! (Cleaning station outside so no cleaning fish inside, please)

Great private 1/4 mile walking trail to the Platte river through grasslands and wooded area. Peaceful and secluded, but other homes in immediate area.

Bring a camera as deer and turkey love this place, and bird watching can be rewarding, too, with bald eagles in the spring, blue heron on the pond, geese overhead, and many songbirds. Satellite TV! Bring your DVD's and CD's, too, because the cabin has surround sound and its great! We anticipate DSL connectivity soon.(We encourage you to inquire in advance to see if it is available by your date of stay). We hate to say 'no' to pets, so if yours is small and/or well behaved they are more than welcomed but we do need to know in advance if you are bringing a pet. No smoking, please.

Upon departure, you need not do anything with the linens or the trash or cleaning; except we ask that you do wash up and put away any dishes or pots & pans that you used. We'll take care of the rest!

Very conveniently located; just 3 miles south of Interstate 80 in the center of Nebraska, and just 7 miles to gas, groceries, and shopping. The cabin is approx. 11.5' wide, 48' long, and stands 16' tall.

A cell phone number is provided upon booking so you can contact us with any needs during your stay.

Price of $95 per night includes one nights lodging for up to four, fishing, and walking trail, plus all applicable taxes and fees. There is a $10 per night per person charge for over 4; but let us know how many are children that will be using sleeping bags as there isn't an extra charge for them.

THERE IS A TWO NIGHT MINIMUM ON WEEKENDS. We have adopted this policy because the majority of our guests are looking for a two night stay and when we sell a single Friday or Saturday night, we loose vital business. We simply could not have the cabin available if we rented it only four nights per month due to single night purchases on the weekend. We appreciate your understanding. [Week nights - Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur. -- can be purchased for single nights.]

Email us with any questions.

View more photos and information at the links listed below (which occassionally do not appear so you will need to contact me). I try to keep this calendar updated but please note that we utilize a different online calendar system so this one may not reflect all of the dates sold.

* We close the cabin from November 1 through the end of February. We haven't the means to remove snow to get you in and out of the cabin, plus the utility bills go up while the number of guests goes down -- thus we limit it's availability in the winter.

** We started our "cabin rental" business in May, 2007, and have been so pleased with the business and our guests -- who have come from one coast to the other and from just a few miles down the road! Thanks!

Nice new Cabin & a great Setting, October 8, 2009
By Scott Gompper (Los Angeles)
This is a very nice, new, clean well decorated cabin. It sleeps 3 people well, 6 is a push. The cabin is placed on a small lake behind a line of trees. I was very pleased with the cabin and will stay there again.

 Country Cabin, September 17, 2009
By Wayne & Verla Jones (Valentine, Ne USA)
Absolutely wonderful, just like described and more. The first vacation when we didn't have to rest up from our vacation. Saw deer, blue heron, fish, many birds. Found something to do in the area for every day of the 10 days we stayed there.

Wonderful little cabin near the Platte, March 24, 2009
By Betsy H. (Denver, Colorado)
We really loved this little cabin. It is very peaceful, right on a pond, and has a trail to a pretty bench on the Platte River. We could hear sandhill cranes all day and night and enjoyed the geese on the pond as well. The cabin is very clean and new. I suppose a really big man might find it a little claustrophobic, especially in the bathroom, but that did not bother us two women. It sleeps six, but remember that there is only one small bathroom. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. We definitely look forward to returning to this nice place.

 It's worth every penny!, December 15, 2008
By Colleen Bird-Grady (Hoyt, Kansas USA)
First, I want to Thank Marge for the wonderful hospitality. The cabin was a very nice retreat from life. It was very cold but great weather to do some needed cuddling. It had everything you need. We loved how close the water was and the porch on the back was nice. Thank you again. I also wanted to say if you like a great, wierd, and wonderful place we visited was The Pioneer Village in Minden. It was worth the $10.00 each and the 6 hours we spent there...Great, Great, Graet!!!! Thank you again Marge. Colleen

Quiet and convenient, December 14, 2008
By Marcia (United Kingdom)
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin and visited some local attractions. The Archway exhibit was very well thought out and especially for good for us as we are interested in history. We live in the country in the UK, so we really appreciated the quiet of the situation -- especially after our recent hotel stays. The 'welcome' touches were very thoughtful and showed consideration for your guests. Best regards, Marcia

 Lovely, October 20, 2007
By Ho (MI)
The cabin is private, immaculate, completely functional, and wonderfully decorated. We used it as an alternative to a hotel, it was well worth it. It would be excellent for someone in town for business for extended periods of time.
Owner Supplied Testimonials
"Very private setting but still near civilization. Really close to major Interstate so easy to access." Kyla Wolfe
