Windmill Gardens Inn can be envisioned as a snug harbor of tropical cottage & bungalow style accommodations nestled in a truly sub tropical jungle setting. The Gardens were created and are managed by a well known horticulturist with a passion for Tropical Botany and who has been responsible for helping to create, nurture and grow some of the largest and most fabulous professional gardens on the Gulf Coast. You will feel as though you have entered into a little bit of Eden as the tensions of a busy world seem to melt away, the very moment of arrival.

Area Information

Centrally located between Houston and Galveston, on Galveston Bay, Windmill Gardens Inn is a little known tropical hideaway in a rural setting. Quick and easy access to almost anywhere in the major metropolitan areas can be accomplished in about an hour +/-, with the comfort of knowing your cozy tropical hideaway is still close by. This little island style retreat is indeed a jewel and the folks at Windmill Gardens will make you feel right at home.

Little piece of tropical paradise!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Windmill Gardens Inn. Julie is a wonderful woman and host. The grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained. Wedding Night

We rented the property for a fried for their wedding night. The properties are beautiful, clean and afforadable. Julie let us in a little early on Saturday to bring in the bride and groom's bags and a few special treats for them. The couple truly enjoyed their stay and their private house. The gardens and the pool is awesome.

Relaxing Weekend

Very nice and quiet get away. Would recommend it for anyone looking to go fishing out in the bay or just to get away with your significant other. The garden and pool area is very nice. The cottage is kept really clean and sitting on the porch at night listening to the water is very relaxing. The bedroom is very nice, kitchen living room have everything you need. The people that I rented from are very nice and the rates are reasonable.

Wonderful Experience

October 13, 2012

Our thanks to Rod & Julie for such a perfect place for our group. We brought a group down to Houston area for a wedding. Mostly single adults. Rod & Julie provided us with 2 cottages. We were able to split up the guys and girls comfortably, while still having the ability to have a meal together or just hang out all in the same place. Beautiful furnishings and decorations. Quiet surroundings. Peaceful little get away - not far from everything we needed to do.

Vacation in Paradise

My husband and I just returned home to Conroe, Texas after spending three wonderful days at the Windmill Garden Inn in San Leon, Tx. The lush tropical grounds with the beautiful swimming pool and view of Galveston Bay are just amazing. We enjoyed it so much this was our second visit in two weeks time. The location is so close to the Houston area. It's very easy access to Kemah and Galveston. We plan on returning to San Leon as often as we can, it was a great time.

Hidden paradise

This was one of the most amazing weekends we ever had as a family!!! The units are beautifully designed and the whole place feels like a rainforest ... In the middle of everything there is a huge pool that overlooks the ocean, I got there a feeling of serenity I needed for the longest time. Thank u for the wonderful time Julie&Rod, we will make this place our new destination for our beach vacations!!! You have to spend a weekend there!!!

Love this place. All the cottages are so unique and beautiful...the view from the Bay House and all the gardens are so gorgeous. The view is breath taking. I can not say enough about this place. Site Visit

May 5, 2012

I did not stay here but made a site visit for the family reunion I am having here in San Leon. The charm and decor of this property will overwhelm you - nestled in this sleepy community on Galveston Bay. I will use some of their units in this gorgeous compound for our reunion in July. I cannot as yet vouch for the service but judging by the lovely owner Julie Hall, I suspect it will be first class. Esther Pahlka, Former Member of Convention and Meeting Planners International.
