Reviews for this vacation cottage rental in Kennebunkport, Maine
Our Anniversary Stay at Shorelands
October 14, 2014
Had an awesome stay here. Rented a "G" unit that was perfect for my wife, me and our Beagle. Small, but plenty big enough for us and very clean. It was a great value too-the location was perfect as it was far enough out of town to be very peaceful and quiet but less than a 10 min. drive to Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, or Wells and a 10 min. walk to Parson's beach which was also peaceful, secluded and beautiful. We also enjoyed the outdoor hot tub so much we never used our jaccuzzi tub in the room. After a lobster dinner in the room one night we had smores at the outdoor fireplace which we had to ourselves. Overall a great stay-I really hope to make it back here!

This place was very clean and service was excellent. Close to a lovely beach (10 minutes walk). A few miles from Wells and Kennybunk. Did not use the facilities (pool, games) due to weather.

Very pleasant clean cottage. Good central place to make trips from. We drove to Ogunquit and Portland. Very beautiful area. Beach was great.
Impromptu weekend with the dogs!
August 5, 2014
The cottage was perfect. Casual & Cozy were the key words, but a great place to hang for the weekend. Two adults & two medium sized dogs, though sometimes underfoot, it had everything we needed. Full-sized fridge with it's own TV (who doesn't watch TV in the kitchen??), stove & microwave. A/C and fairly comfy beds too. Gas grill & picnic table right outside - arrive with a cooler of food and you'll never need to leave. Enclosed porch w/ chairs great for watching the morning sun. Access to common area with pool & firepit. And a LARGE field out back where the dogs could run like the wind when no one else was around. Perfect weekend.

Very clean, great location. Driving is close to beach Town shopping and restaurants. Walking distance To large, private beautiful beach. Coffee and muffins available daily. Very nice owner, She does a great job. We had a one room cottage and although small, It was very clean and comfortable. We were mainly outside. We did use the pool, hot tub, and ping pong table. They also had bikes and a small basketball court. Kids swing set and sand. We were happy with our stay, it was exactly what website Showed.

I stayed at the Shorelands on my visit up in Maine in early July, 2012. It was a nice little cottage. I took my Boston Terrier (Miss Gracie Piggles) and had no problems with having her stay there.
Very nice even through the rain.

Let me start by saying the cottage was very nice & unlike most places, our dog was allowed with us. Up in Kennebunk for my bother in law's 3 day wedding, not having any real clue about what the place would be like, I spoke with the property manager who was very friendly and very helpful. We were not able to use any of the amenities on the grounds, but did see them cleaning the pool in the middle of a downpour. Our cottage was very cozy. It had some very cool surprises inside, like a dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster and a skylight. Not only was the cottage useful but had all the outlets we needed. We brought tablets, phones, a MacBook, and a couple cameras. One of the best surprises was free wifi. That was extremely helpful allowing my wife to post pics on Facebook and me stream movies from home with the help of the Sling box. A/C built in helped us to not die from the humidity, and allowed my wife's hair to not to look like a poof ball. We brought our own iron, which as a suggestion, wished there was one in the cottage along with an ironing board. (Just a suggestion.) One final note, it was super quiet up there. Not getting back till late a t night, ment sleeping in. We were not disturbed once. All in all great time, we highly recommend it.
We do appreciate your thoughful review. Thank you for noticing how hard we try. The unit was one of our new queen bed studios. We are a very quiet spot, I am very happy you had a good night's sleep. The office has a small iron board and iron to borrow, as well as other emenities that are not often used.

the cottage was nice with two bedrooms and baths. A few items were missing from the place that I expected. No towels for the kitchen, no iron or ironing board and when we asked for one the board was a table top model- hard to use and the iron was worthless. The short walk to the beach was about a half mile or so, not bad.
Ideal for a familly!

We did enjoy the cottage (very clean), the sevices and we were specially pleased by the outside picnic table space with the gazebo so we could welcome some friends for dinners. The only thing, is that our cottage was very close to the road so maybe a bit noisy... We also liked very much the Parson Beach. It was our first time at that beach. The nice waves were much appreciated by the kids!!! Thank you very much!

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and coziness of our cottage (the H-unit). We had daily room service. We enjoyed the common amenities like the pool, jacuzzi and ping pong table a lot. The beach, a leisurely 10 minute walk away, was perfect. Only thing was that the shower was eco-friendly and literally trickled. All in all, it was a very nice and accomodating place.
comfortable and cozy

Our family of 6 spent 1 week at a Shorelands Cottage and LOVED IT!! The cottage was very clean. We could tell they pay close attention to detail. The worst part (which is not really bad) was the skylight above the bed in the master bedroom. At 5am you were awake whether you wanted to be or not. The other problem we encountered was that we could not connect with the WiFi in the cottage we had to bring the laptop out to the picnic table in order to get a connection. All in all our vacation in Maine was the best vacation ever and Shorelands was a big part of making it so good. Thanks Sonja:)

A great place
September 21, 2009
we stayed there 4 days with our dog and we have enjoyed every moments of it. even if it is not great luxury place, It is clean and quiet, the owner and employees were very helpful. We have used th BBQ twice and it is working very well. The beach was great and only 15 minutes walk. Of course, we were lucky with the weather, but our general impression of the place was very positive. The room (# 14) was large enough with 2 double beds. The bathroom was a little bit small and of course it is was little bit scary to walk the dog on the other side of the road 9 at night, but it is not really a great inconvenient considering the other advantages of being there. We will return there for sure.
One word --perfect!!
