Vintage 40's-era cottage, newly renovated and eco-friendly.
Relish the comforts of brand new furniture, cabinets and appliances. This little cottage is totally re-built from the inside/out using zero-VOC paint and recycled blue-jean insulation!
The large, terraced yard is completely fenced, has a lovely view of the woods and offers maximum privacy.
It's an easy 2-minute stroll through the privately owned river bottom to a spectacular, secluded section of the River.
Canoe and kayak rentals are available nearby.
On your vacation, enjoy the abundance of nature by doing some birding or watch the deer and other wildlife while you relax on the inviting backyard deck.

Great little place - close to the river

Pros: Awesome hospitality - Barbara is a sweetheart and took good care of us Clean, nicely remodeled cottage (incredibly clean for a place that accepts pets!!) Awesome location - near stores but also backs to a greenbelt...river a short walk away Awesome backyard for relaxing, reading, making smores, etc. Pet friendly Great price Cons: Cottage a little small for a family of 4 (would be great for a couple). Uneven, brick stairs in the backyard are not toddler friendly. Maybe bring a safety gate if you have an active little one. I would definitely visit again, even with the couple of "cons". Pros FAR outweigh cons.

Fantastic weekend

We stayed here recently and had a really great time. The Bird's Nest was situated perfectly in town. We were able to view both cottages and were impressed with the quaintness of each. The location made for an inviting home base for our hill country adventures. Barbara, the owner, was friendly and helpful. Our terrier felt right at home as well! We hope to go back soon!
