Description of the Key Colony Beach vacation villa rental
Magnificent Keys style contemporary home offering many individual features. The large private yard is beautifully landscaped and you will find unmatched seclusion among the multiple varieties of native Palms, Banana Trees and other native plants. The spacious Infinity-Edge pool and large outdoor Jacuzzi allow peaceful relaxation at the waterside.
When you drive up to one of the exclusive Key Colony Beach’s most elegant homes you’ll appreciate a view characterized by a beautiful fountain and a pair of tremendous imported Cuban Royal Palms. This is a True Florida Keys Estate a considerable step above other available KEY COLONY BEACH VACATION RENTALS!!
Inside the home you will find it equally magnificent. Large columns and crystal chandeliers characterize the entry way. The living room features a 32 inch TV with DVD and a life size hand painted wall collage created by a local artist which depicts a fish eye view of life on a Florida Keys Coral Reef. There are cathedral ceilings, a large dining room with wet-bar, four spacious bedrooms with TV’s in each, wireless broadband DSL and Jacuzzi’s in both the master suite and second bath.
It is a truly spectacular place to stay!
Docking – A 31 foot dock will accommodate crafts up to 40 feet and drafts to 4 feet at low tide. You’ll also find 110 and 220 service, a freshwater spigot, 60 ” fish table and a double wide bait freezer.
Bedrooms/Accommodates (4/10) – There are four bedrooms including 3 with king and one with queen size mattress. There’s a full sleeper sofa in the living room. All bedrooms feature televisions. You will not have arguments on who gets the nice bedroom, this home has the ultimate set up for 4 adult couples who want to get away in style.
Bathrooms (3) – The spectacular master bath offers a Jacuzzi for two people and you’ll also appreciate a single Jacuzzi in the second bath. The third bathroom is conveniently located near pool side.
Kitchen – A fully equipped kitchen featuring lots of counter space, coffee maker, blender, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, double convection oven, stove top burners, compactor, disposal, washer & dryer, iron with board and refrigerator with ice maker.
Dining – The large dining table seats eight people. There’s also a breakfast bar for 4 and a breakfast nook that seats 4 people. The dining area features a wet bar and a great view.
Pool - A 14 by 28 heated Infinity Edge pool with spa for 4 features a 3 ft shallow end and 6 ft deep end.
Parking -
Garage 16 wide X 20 deep
Driveway 22 wide X 37 deep
Additional 9 wide X 23 deep
NOTE – Any trailer or RV needs to be parked a full 25 feet from the middle of the street. It is your responsibility to secure an exterior parking location if this can not be accomplished.
Beach/View – The home is exactly 1/2 mile from Sunset Park Beach. The view here is limited to a canal but the tropical landscape is exceptional. Very peaceful and relatively secluded when compared to other Key Colony Beach estates.
Location – Turn left on the Sadowski Causeway off Route 1 South, turn right on West Ocean Drive, turn left on Coury Drive, and turn right on 13th street. The property is #320 on the right side. Conveniently located walking distance to Sunset Park Beach.
Instructions – Check-out is at 10 am on the day of departure and check-ins are accepted 4 pm or later unless otherwise discussed. All guests are met at the address of the property for inspection and home instructions.
Area Information
diving, Sunsets, and relaxation but here are some other ideas:
Sightseeing, History and Tours
Dolphins
Grassy Key
The Dolphin Research Center
The true home of Flipper! Don't miss this place; they are dedicated to
training, studying, and protecting the Dolphins! I recommend reserving
a spot to swim with one of the Dolphins, it is well worth the money!
Famous people from around the world visit this facility each year
because they are the best. You will be amazed at what you will learn
and the gift shop is quite nice as well.
Beach
Marathon
Sombrero Beach
Turn left at Kmart on Sombrero Beach Road and you'll find the nicest
beach in the Middle Keys. The Keys are not known for their beaches but
Sombrero is a beautiful beach and it is right here in Marathon!
7 Mile Bridge
Marathon
Pigeon Key
A tiny five acre island just below the seven mile bridge was once the
home to the workers who built Henry Flagler's Railroad which connected
the Keys to northern commerce. Enjoy the relatively long walk along
the seven mile bridge to get out to the Island and take the Trolley
ride back. Some of you may remember The famed Seven Mile Bridge and
Pigeon Key in the movie "True Lies" featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Museum and Nature Center
Marathon
Museum and Nature Center of Crane Point Hammock
The most important historical and archaeological site in the Keys.
Evidence of Prehistoric Bahamian and Colombian tribes are found here.
On site you will also find The Museum of Natural History of the
Florida Keys, an archive of ancient artifacts found in the area and
The Children's Museum of the Florida Keys which is an indoor/outdoor
facility with ecological exhibits for the kids!
Don't miss The Adderley home. Early immigrant George Adderley and his
Family lived a simple life among tropical trees such as the
lignumvitae whose hard wood was once used to make bowling balls. The
family survived by making charcoal and gathering and selling sponges.
One trail will take you to the Marathon Wild Bird Center which is a
hospital for many of the native birds of the Marathon Area!
Feeding the fish is also a hit with the kids with large resident
Barracuda and Shark!
And I have to mention Casa Iguana, the home to many species of Iguanas
ranging from 3 to 6 feet long.
Turtle Hospital Educational Tour
Another can't miss experience is the Turtle Hospital Educational Tour
which many of our guests have included as a highlight of their
vacation. During the Tour you will learn of the many challenges facing
the Turtles in todays ocean waters and what we are doing to support
their existence now and into the future. Of course you'll also meet
Bubble-butt and many of their other residents and have a good time as
well.
Price of admission includes an approximate 45 minute educational guide
of the hospital with a presentation and a 45 minute guide through the
sea turtle rehabilitation area. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED

Other Vacation Rental Amenities
Marathon Florida is the home to a number of amazing places to visit when you Vacation in The Florida Keys. My personal favorite is The Dolphin Research Center in Grassy Key. The DRC is home to a number of intelligent Dolphin which live and entertain locals and tourists daily. The DRC also offers some Bird exhibits, a Sea Lion and the best Florida Keys Gift Shop around! Other Great Florida Keys attractions include the 7 Mile Bridge, The Curry Hammock State Park, Sombrero Beach, Crane Point Hammock Museum and Nature Center, The Turtle Hospital at Hidden Harbor and Sunset Park on Key Colony Beach would be naming just a few of our most popular and all of these attractions are right here in Marathon Florida.

"Relaxation at it's best!"
5 of 5
We stayed here with another couple and our dog for a week and enjoyed every minute of it. This home is as pictured and described. We love Key Colony and believe it to be one of the safest areas to stay. There are restrictions for noise control, trash, traffic etc. which is just what you need when you want to relax and not worry about a thing. The walking paths on the street, local eateries,(see my Sparkys review) and the doggy park are all the things we look for to get away. The pool was awesome, and well maintained, the hot tub was a suprise though because we expected a Jacuzzi. This does not bubble it only has a flow of water which you heat up. Regardless this was a favorite spot for sore diving muscles. The bedrooms were very comfy and clean. There were several minor, and I mean minor issues for maint. to look at but nothing that would deter me from coming back. I think if more people would fill out the check out list things would be fixed in a more timely manner. Brad was excellent to work with and answered the phone every time we called with a question. Ana cleaned her heart out for us as the previous guest had left a mess and we were a little early in our arrival. Brad allowed us to enjoy the outside areas while we waited and we swam and docked the boat. Much unlike my exprience at Caban del Sol in Big pine, (review to come) The seating area in living room is a little awkward as other guests stated but we just grabbed another chair to sit in. The Kitchen had most of what you needed, and we grilled out the nights we cooked. it was great having a bait freezer and outdoor shower for the fishing days. The pool is very private and as of this stay there are two vacant lots on each side . You can swim and relax on the patio without anyone being able to see you which I really loved, as well as a dining area to wave to the boats passing buy. Lots of lizards every morning that were fun to watch, and caught some mangrove snapper right at the dock. We will be staying here again, and recommend it to everyone.
