Gone to Paradise and never going Home!

The owners made us feel like family...... The entire property was stunning, filled with the most beautiful tropical plants, gorgeous flowers and delicious limes. Our adorable cottage was cozy, clean and well stocked. ( I loved the quilted manatee and LOVE LOVE LOVE the sea turtle in the shower ) We have a family with two small children and it had everything we could need! Looking out every window was like looking into your own private oasis. My girls loved playing on the beach and with all the toy...What a bonus with the kayaks....Spent evening enjoying the breeze on the dock while my husband played his guitar! We did not want to leave and our weekend getaway truly needed to be longer, Next Trip! Thank you so very much and we can't wait to come back...

The time spent in this beautiful Keys location was just unbeliveable. The cottage was perfect in every way. A short walk to breakfast every morning was very nice, althought the kitchen in the cottage was well equiped a good walk to breakfast got me going. The property was located in such a way it made getting around Key Largo and other keys convient. The best is always for last and that is seeing the grorgous sunsets on the pier made for a perfect day every day.

My husband and i just returned from our stay in Travenier! This cottage was very clean well equipt with a tropical decor. The grounds were beautiful and looked just like the pics on line. Its located in a great location for activities such as frishing trips, swimming with dolphins and nice restauants. We grilled outside our cottage spending time on the dock fishing and snorkeling.Bill and Bonnie were wonderful treating us like friends. We are looking forward to returning.

This beach front cottage was exactly what I had dreamed it would be and proved to be that and much more. A trip to Florida was my dream as I wanted to celebrate my 80th Birthday digging my toes into the white beach sand on a Florida beach And on Sunday, January 20th that special dream was realized in Key Largo along with my husband and several loved ones This turned out to be the most memorable birthday of my life with many, many wonderful memories created. On each of my future birthdays this very special 80th birthday will always be remembered and cherished.

Our first trip to the Key's. We did not know what to expect. It was my mom's 80th Birthday. Everything was wonderful ! The cottage was perfect quiet location with private beach and dock. My mom was so pleased and said , she and my dad would stay there again. So would Scott and I . thanks Martha ! A lot of great memories !!! Hope to return again sometime with more family members to enjoy this wonderful place.

Tastefully decorated, comfy, extremely clean cottage with all anemities. Was my home away from home for 4 days. I hated to leave. The owner assures an inviting atmosphere where you can feel welcome and relax. The grounds are well-kept, nice to have row boat and kayaks on hand, but for those with small kids, there is plenty to do at the shoreline and enjoy the views in the large garden. Definitely can recommend this property and the associated villa or guesthouse! I plan to be back!

We had a great experience with the cottage and the owner. The property was what we expected. The wireless internet was a little weak, but that was not a major problem. everything worked in the cottage except the DVD player. We reported this issue to Martha and she said she would get it taken care of. We would stay there again if we return to the Key Largo area.

We (4 adults) had a great time at this cottage. It is big enough, very clean and the furniture is in a good condition. The private dock is a fantastic place to do things like fishing, relaxing, water sports or our all favorite watch the sunset! Our nicest experience was the meeting with manatees. They came to drink fresh water, They swam very close of us, we stood beside them and could touch them! For dinner we recommend the Restaurant Mrs Mac's Kitchen. It is in walking distance from this property. We were every evening there, you will get good food and drinks. Dear Martha, thank you one more time and we will come back!

A great place to relax

We stayed in the bigger cottage, it was very well equipped. Very comfortable, great location. The dock was a terrific place to watch the sunsets and chat with the other guests. The use of the kayaks was a big plus, We would stay here again when we have the chance, our hostess was helpful and friendly. A number of good places to eat were within walking distance, Highly recomend this spot.

Cottage and property was very charming and well maintained. Lots of privacy. Lots of amenities, ie. kayaks, fishing gear, floats....Was so nice to sit on dock and see many types of birds, and be visited by manatees! Will definatley keep this place in our file for future vacations. Only down side was some clouds and rain, but did manage to see a beautiful sunset on our las night there.

I attended a reunion at this property and I cannot imagine any property layout that is better suited.The water access is perfect and the cottage is well-appointed. Very friendly and attentive owner. It is centrally located to good restaurants as well. Mature lush landscaoing made is cool and tropical in every way!

We had a wonderful time staying at the cottage. It was a very relaxing place with a great dock that was ideal for watching sunsets, snorkeling and kayaking. They had 3 kayaks free to use . The mosquitos were pretty fierce, but they sprayed a couple of times while we were there to keep it under control. Just keep bug repellant handy. The kitchen was well stocked for a rental as was the linens. The bathrooms were nice and looked recently updated. It had a nice tv with satellite and DVD player. There are lots of local places to eat and if you enjoy outdoor activities and enjoy relaxing, this is a great place to go. The furniture was a little shabby but for a beach rental, not out of line and the master bedroom mattress could have been a little more comfortable. Otherwise, very happy and would return. The other small house for rental on this property had a hot tub, which this one didn't. Would maybe have rented the other one had we known. The manger Martha and her husband were extremely nice to deal with.

Relaxation Plus!

When I first arrived I found the property to be exactly what I thought it would & should be, a remote and well maintained cottage right on the Bay with all amenities. The second day after arrival I was met by Martha and was impressed by the fact she made it a point to come by and personally introduce herself and welcomed me and my out of town guests. Both Martha & Al the owner's, are "hands on" which shows they care about the integrity of the people who are sharing their world. By the way, there are several cottages & houses to choose from on this private tropical compound, the next time I will be staying in the front Big House with a sweeping shaded front porch w/ ceiling fans that Martha was gracious enough to personally show me and my guests. It is truly a fabulous property that exudes luxury and is fully appointed for the discriminating holiday traveler. Thank you, Martha & Al.

Great Dock Sunsets and Tropical Feel

Retreat-like surroundings in a tropical compound that runs down to the water. Beach is small but sunsets from the dock are stunning. We enjoyed kayaking, exploring butterfly gardens, and hammock lazing. Some may find the smaller cottage a bit close to the commercial highway, but it's peaceful at night. Our dogs loved the freedom to run about - a rarity in the Keys. We would return.

We stayed for 3 nights in the first week in may. The weather was beautiful and the cottage was secluded. The house was nice bu the pictures in the add was misleading regarding how close the cottage is to the beach. There are two other houses on the property. This cottage was about 60 yards from the ocean. The view fr the sock was gorgeous and the property was pristine. The garden made you feel like there was a surrounding jungle. Very nice owners but the directions were a bi misleading... The propert is directly next to a sherwin Williams. Jacuzzi was hot. There is a sunken boat by the second buoy to the left if you look out at the dock (or snorkelers). Look up Caribbean watersports for parasailing!! They were really lenient about check out times. I would stay again.

We had a great time. The cottage was spacious, nicely furnished, and plenty of amenities were provided. Martha was very helpful in providing us with a list of things to do and see during our stay. When we asked if there was a cooler we could pack a lunch for day trips, Martha deliered on to us within a few hours. I would highly recommend staying at the cottage at Alamar on the Bay.

The family vacation was great. The cottage was neat and clean. We ate on the outdoor patio most days. The boys liked fishing from the dock and my wife enjoyed he sunsets from there. We kayaked to a small island and saw birds and an assortment of fish in the clear water. We will be back.

Our family had a wonderful holiday. There was so much to do,my brother liked fishing on the dock with fishing gear that was provided. I liked the kayaks,the water was so clear I watched the fish on the bottom. The sunsets from the beach were the best.

The owners Al and Martha molified my disappointment. I was looking for a place where I could launch and moor my 20-foot fishing boat for ocean side fishing. Admittedly, booking a bay side place for this wasn't the best plan I ever had. I talked to Martha at length before booking about the boat situation and was disappointed on arrival. We arrived at night and the tight quarters made maneuvering the truck and trailer into the place a real bear. Next morning Al offered his forklift and personally helped with the launching, otherwise it would have been impossible to back the boat and trailer to the ramp hooked to my truck. The "nearby" cut to the ocean was a good 45 minute boat trip. Other than my disappointment about the boat arrangements, Alamar by the Bay is a nice place. There are three sites, make sure you get the mainhouse by the water (we didn't), the other two are some distance toward US 1 and you get quite a bit of road noise.

Our vacation was fantastic due to the relaxing atmosphere of the Alamar. The cottage was very clean, had every convenience and the beach/dock was beautiful. The manatees even greeted us on our first day. The only negative was that they were doing work one of the days and we didn't feel comfortable hanging out at the dock. Other then that small inconvenience, it was a perfect vacation. Thank you!!!

Wonderful property right on the bay just across the street from the ocean. Walking distance to Mrs. Mac's Kitchen the best breakfast in toen. Boat rentals and tours right down the road.Three houses are one this property but all of them have a view of the water. Lush surroundings and everything you need for a relaxing getaway.

This is the perfect vacation for families with children, lot of beach toys on the sandy beach. The sunsets were wonderful and so was the fishing from the dock, gear supplied.
