Description of the Key West vacation condo rental
The Heron is one of several of the Colony Condominiums in historic Key West, Florida (sleeps 4). A conch style cottage nestled in the heart of Historic Old Town Key West, just a short walk from world famous Duval Street with its incredible art galleries, boutiques, museums, attractions, restaurants, music and night life. One bedroom with king bed, queen sleep sofa, kitchen, one bath, and private patio. Shared pool, WIFI, coin operated laundry. Tropical foliage, pond, nestled away on Olivia Street - a true "oasis" only steps away from all the excitement and wonder in this historic island city at the southernmost point in the US! There is also off-street parking on a first come, first serve basis. The cottage is decorated in shades of beige and green reminiscent of old Florida but with modern amenities that make you never want to leave. Unit sleeps max 4 people.
Rates:
From $270 per night $1650 per week (winter)
From $225 per night $1350 per week (May & November)
From $195 per night $1150 per week (summer)
[Rentals less than one week add one time cleaning charge of $65.00, cleaning charge paid by owner for weekly rentals]
Condo/booking fee 25.00 & Florida tax of 12.5% on all rentals. For holiday weeks & special events such as fantasy fest contact owner for rates. For renters with Pets the cleaning fee will be 100.00 total.
Area Information
You can have a fantastic meal at one of the many sensational restaurants, do some dancing or listen to one of the many live bands that perform nightly at one of you favorite watering holes.
During the day you can't beat the Florida weather if you want to go to one of the fantastic beaches including Smathers beach voted on the travel channel as one of the 10 best beaches in the US. If you would prefer you can lie buy the pool relax and read a book get on the internet via WIFI or go shopping on Duval where you can enjoy many fine art galleries, clothing stores etc.
Activities for Children Enjoy the Ripleys believe it or not museum take time walking through the butter fly museum or enjoy the free nightly street festival at Mallory square.
If you would like to explore the island there are bikes and scooters for rent along with taking a tour on the conch train.

Comfortable and well situated

Our cottage was sun-filled, spacious and very comfortable. Plenty of room for us and our three dogs to strech out and relax. The entire property was clean and well-maintained. Convenient location between Duval and White streets, one block off Truman. The only minor concern was with parking as there are only 4 off-street parking spaces available (5 if people park intelligently).

It was a very nice private unit, but the a/c in the bedroom leaked and the bedroom had a very musty smell. it was close to Duval and overall we really enjoyed the stay.

We stayed in Hidden Treasure, not Oasis Two negatives-the caulking in bathrooms around the tubs was moldy and in need of replacement, and the baseboards were dusty/dirty. Cleaning crew could use some instruction. We are property managers on Sanibel Island and if we left a unit like that our guests would let us know! Being a "high end" property like yours I would expect more careful inspections. We did have a great time and enjoyed the property in spite of this.

After visiting Key West many many times and staying in hotels, this is the way to go. Spent a week at this cottage and enjoyed it very much. The property is well kept and the neighbors were all nice. Location is excellent .

This unit was just a couple blocks from Duval "craziness", but was an oasis of calm. Very basic but comfortable unit. All the other units were occupied, but everyone was quiet and very friendly. The pool is small, but we were often the only ones using it. Location could not be better. We walked everywhere but the beach which was only a $5 taxi ride and actually walkable if you want a little exercise. Plan ahead, getting groceries of any significance is a little difficult, but there is a host of reasonably priced good restaurants right in the area.

This place combines old Key West with modern comforts perfectly. Walk to Duval or around the corner to Hemingway's. You even get to enjoy the company of the resident kitties! We felt right at home. Love the courtyard pool...spent many evenings getting to know other vacationers from all over the world. We will stay here every visit to Key West.

We had a great time at this little hideaway cottage. It's in a great location in Old Town. Rent bikes & you can explore all of Key West. The bedroom is huge. Adequate kitchen & living room, though it might be a tight fit if you had adults sleeping on the pull out. *Note that the cottage you are renting in this listing is NOT the one shown in the picture next to the pool. I think this place was actually better because this cottage is actually in the back corner. It's SUPER quiet...except for the roosters next door. But THAT is just Key West. We would definitely rent this place again!

Cute cottage for a couple but the tiny bath might be difficult for 4 adults. Great location though if you are bringing a dog it is a bit of a challenge to find green space to do their business. Comfortable bed and nice decor.

I had a wonderful time and would defiantly stay here in the future! It is close enough to walk to everything, has all the things you would have at home. The pool was a great relief after walking downtown and was the right temperature. The condo was very nicely appointed and I was very pleased with the way it was decorated. This property is the first home we have rented in KW. It was an amazing property and the grounds were extremely well kept. The pool is a great place to cool off in and the neighbors were very pleasant. Staying in a place like this had me running to the nearest agent to find out about a 2nd home in Key West. The location is PRIME!!!

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage is well furnished and has some personal touches, such as a guest art book. The other residents in the complex were also visitors and we got to know some of them a bit. It is a friendly atmosphere. The pool is relaxing and inviting with appropriate furniture. The location of the cottage is excellent being close to the main area of Key West but not so close that crowds are a nuisance. One small suggestion for the complex would be to install a bike rack! Bikes are very useful on Key West.
