Tropical Escape

First of all, the communication with the owners of the property was fantastic! They promptly answered questions, provided details and made me feel at ease with the rental (I am a little skeptical about making such transactions via internet!!!). We arrived at the rental, and it looked just like the pictures and everything they said that was included was there - King bed, queen bed, sofa-sleeper, linens, towels, utensils, appliances, etc - beautifully equipped for what we needed! We had 6 people total, so two were on the pull-out sofa. They said it was a little rough, but hey, they were last-minute additions anyway!!! Two bedrooms were nice, and so was having two bathrooms. Washer/dryer in the unit was a great bonus - allowed us to pack less!!! Condo location was about 5-7 minutes away from the 'action' of Duval St., but that worked out great as well, as it allowed us to see the entire island, and made for some great bike rides/morning jogs!!! Location was nice and quiet, set off by itself, somewhat. The little convenience store nearby (about 2 min. walk) was handy for beer, drinks, snacks, etc. Pool and hot tub were nice and clean - only issue was that the pool was locked up a little early, about 8pm, on most nights. Parking was never an issue, people were friendly. Overall, great experience and will most likely be back!!! *Bonus, owners say there is a discount on future rentals!!

This condo was FABULOUS! WE will return!! It has everything you need and then some. Great pool-hot tub area- little store and laundry. Went with another couple had more than enough room for 4. could have easily had 6. Beds were comfy-decor was very fitting. Loved the pool view with waving palms! It was very clean. I can not say enough good things about this place. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to share in there little piece of heaven. I hope they allow us the chance to do it again.

This 2 bed, 2 bath is good for 2 couples (could easily accomodate kids with sofa beds in living room). Bedrooms were separated by living area, thus lots of privacy. It was very clean and a great price for what you get. Location is a little noisy with airport close by, but has an ocean view and beautiful grounds with nice pool- the office staff were very nice. Has a little convenience store close by. Will stay here again!

It was a nice condo, a bit older than I thought. The pool closed too early! Was lead to believe there was a washer/dryer in the unit.

My husband, myself and my parents just returned from a 5 night stay at Tropical Escape and we had a great time! The condo was nicely furnished, very clean and more than spacious enough for our group of 4 adults. The pool area was also very nice and most days we had it all to ourselves. A nice plus was being able to park in one of the covered areas and we NEVER had a problem with parking. We were also allowed to bring our little pekingnese dog, Tiffany, with us (a nice plus since so many places are not pet friendly) and she had a great time too. Staying on this side of the island proved to be a good choice as we were able to return to some peace and tranquility after our many visits to Old Town and Duval St. We can't wait to return and are already planning our next trip to Tropical Escape.

Our unit and the pool area were great!! We stayed in unit 232 and enjoyed a great view and fully equiped kitchen. It was decorated beautifully and very comfortable. Covered parking was a huge plus and the location being a short distance from downtown was nice. The only negative was the beach in front of the condo. It was rocky and dirty from the seagrass making it totally unusable but Smather's beach was just a short walk away. The best beach was Ft. Zachary Taylor and worth the short drive. Don't miss breakfast or any other meal at Blue Heaven!! Bo's on Front and Caroline has a GREAT grilled fish sandwich and is a quirky, reasonbly priced place to eat lunch!! One more shout our to Aaron at Island Bicycle Rentals on Grinnel and US1. Riding around on bikes is the way to see all points of interest, get great photos and park free!!

My husband, son, and I stayed at this unit for 11 days. It was a lovely stay. The accommodations provided more than enough room for us and our two dogs, not to mention a well-equipped kitchen. Very clean and peaceful environment. The staff at Sunrise Suites were very amenable and helpful during our stay. We brought our bikes, so we enjoyed lots of bike rides into old town, Duval Street, piers, and Fort Zachary. We highly recommend leasing this suite from the Rachells.

Although the condo seems nice on the surface, the couch was broken, the sleeper part of the couch was horrible-my son had to pull the mattress off and lay it on the ground. We specifically asked about a blender, and it was broken-had to buy one (at a pretty hefty price!) The laundry facility was not great-it took $6 and 2 hours to dry ONE load of clothes! Next time, I think we will try to find a place closer to the beach and the action on Duvall Street.

We loved the condo. It needed a new mattress in the hideabed. We had to buy an air mattress because the mattress in the hideabed was too small for the couch and it sagged. Other than that the condo was nice and roomy and the grounds were beautiful. The staff was helpful and the room was clean. Would recommend to a friend. Much cheaper than staying in a hotel.

It was a great experience. It was nice to have two bathrooms with the two bedrooms. It was very quite and the pool wasn't crowded. I would definately stay here again. The owners were great to work the details out with on the stay.

Our family of four -- two adults, two teenagers, loved the condo, especially the two private bedrooms and bathrooms, in addition to the living space. The location is as far as you can get from Old Town but not far from Smathers Beach. You'll need motorized transportation to get anywhere though. We rented mopeds from A&M and they were great, although a pretty long ride to town. The pool is nice and not crowded -- beautiful stream next to it with iguanas and beautiful birds all around. Nice place for families but there were still some noisy college kids around. Maid service came with our unit since we rented from the owner and it was outstanding!! She even loaded and ran the dishwasher every day and we tipped her well. Nice little grocery store and deli on-site, really friendly staff. Not a luxurious place but comfortable, cheaper than in town and she rented by the day.

We enjoyed our stay even though we had some 3AM antics from Spring Breakers. Had to call security and police. Condo does need all air vents cleaned.

we were in key west in august and stayed in this GREAT appartment for 6 nights. Its very nice, big, and clean. And very easy to park your car. Everything is close by, some big supermarkets to get food and a copple of restaurants are just around the corner. there is a very nice pool just below an dyou can also use the pools of the next door hotels. the property manager is fast to help you with any kind of thing you need, directions-email-towels, very nice people. Our stay in key west was a success including by our stay in the Tropical Escape. We are already planning our new trip to go back. thank you very much

it was great! the room is nice, service is amazing, so close to nice beaches and duval street. the pool and hot tub were very convenient also!! i highly recommend this room to anyone!
