Description of the Kiawah Island vacation cottage rental

A separate cottage nestled in the woods with similar cottages nearby. Large deck, parking area and cement walkway to outdoor shower. Recently remodeled kitchen; two bedrooms with twins beds in each, share a bath; large living room/dining room combo; master bedroom with private bathroom and walk-in closet. Gas logs in fireplace; new windows and front door and slider to deck. Water heated by Rennai system (propane); you never run out of hot water!
Wifi recently added.

All on one floor, six steps up from ground level.

Kiawah Island is located on the Atlantic Ocean, with an abundance of trees and fauna, make it a rare jewel and it is only 30 minutes from Charleston, SC. Within 5 miles of the cottage are 5 quality golf courses open to residents and guests. Kiawah Island is 12 miles long and 1.5 miles wide bounded by the Kiawah River and the Atlantic Ocean, with a beautiful, uncrowded 10 mile long and 100 yard wide (at low tide) beach. Nature trails, jogging and bike trails, and lagoons throughout the island.

Lots of activities for children at the Nature Center.

Charleston, with all the ammenities and charm of the South, is nearby; the International Airport is about 45 minutes north of Kiawah Island.

5 restaurants within 5 miles; many others in Charleston, just 25 miles away. The Nature Center (about 500 yards away) coordiantes many activities for children and adults alike.

The key attraction is the beach...an easy two minute walk from the cottage...you can hear the surf from the cottage. The beach is never crowded (like Myrtle Beach) and off season, you often will see only a handful of people on the ten mile beach.

Nature provides a wonderful spectator sport...pelicans diving for food, dolphins frolicking just beyond the breakers, and shells galore. The beach is gentle sloping sand...ideal for all ages.

In the numerous lagoons of Kiawah, while on a hike or bike ride, you'll often see alligators suning themselves on the banks. Surf fishing and casting nets for shrimp is popular with many.

Deep sea fishing, can be arrainged at Bohicket Marina (about five miles by road from our cottage). The ocean is about 15 minutes by fast boat from the dock.

We enjoyed every minute of our time spent at Ward and Judy's cottage. It accomodated our needs for the week, and we really appreciated the proximity to the beach. We do hope we'll have a chance to return to Kiawah and we'll definitely want this cottage again.
