Description of the Kihei vacation cottage rental

This is an immaculate, superclean, gorgeous space! A real romantic total hideaway, but "in town" and close to all shops,restaurants and beaches. A great place for honeymoon or anniversary vacations. After sun & surf you can shut the world out, cool off, and have complete privacy in a lush tropical setting. (also sleeps 3 or 4 with the comfortable futon couch). Fully equipped modern kitchen with gas range, d/w, great a/c and ventilation. See visitor comments. Free local telephone & wireless internet.
OUR PROPERTY
300 ft from the ocean shore is this cozy and romantic home away from home. It's on our 1/2 acre at the corner of Alaniu ( Coconut Way) & Welakahao ( Go For It!) streets. This is an oasis of Old Hawaii with shops & restaurants 2 blks to the north & south of us. We started restoring our one of a kind 1927 plantation ' arts & crafts' style bungalow in 1977 and have done our best to preserve this old house and property and mature palms, keeping it all in the original style.. Come on down to Kihei Maui and enjoy a real private tropical getaway with affordable, reasonable rates! You won't be disappointed! It's a clean and bright artist's Studio with a wall of north light windows looking out on to the many tropical birds cooing an chirping away.. Everybody who has stayed here absolutely loves it. Start walking 4 miles of beaches just a block from this lovely, private cottage. Old Hawaiian families have lived in this charming neighborhood long before the first hotels made Kihei, Wailea and the beaches of South Maui an international destination.
The property introduces you to a quiet local style of life, but still close to all the "in town" amenities of sunny, beachside Kihei.
The hot tub and gas bbq are at the bottom of your lanai steps in the courtyard surrounded by lush palms, plants and orchids with a Royal Poinciana tree towering over all for shade.. The cottage has 14ft open beam ceilings, 2 a/c's and a ceiling fan and exhaust fan to keep it cool in summer. Beautiful island style decor with lots of rattan and wicker. Lots of beach stuff for your use, snorkel equpt., boogie boards, etc.. No smoking in the cottage, but OK on the lanai(porch), ashtrays provided.

It's a long trip over here, but once you are in your cottage, it's cool & comfortable and you can quickly shut out the world and rest up after your travel day. hot tub and have a nap on the premium comfy mattress, falling asleep to all the tropical birds on our property. Or grab your beach chairs and a cold drink, walk down to the beach and watch the sun set in to the ocean. Welcome to Maui!

Our property is in the oldest beach neighborhood in Kihei, the dry leeward coast sheltered by 10,000ft. Haleakala volcano mountain and crater. The property is situated on the beach access road. All within a mile north and south of us are shopping, night life, fitness centers,surfing, surf schools, snorkel & dive shops, safe swimming beaches, Elleaire golf course, award-winning restaurants, dive shops, surf schools, windsurfing, public beach parks with lifeguards, great public tennis courts, and the spectacular beaches of South Maui all within walking & cycling distance. Come and enjoy a great Hawaiian beach town!

After travelling to Florida & San Francisco visiting family with my boyfriend Christian. There's no place else but to relax at Steve & Toni's cottage we stayed there for 10 days. Its been the best experiencing holiday of a lifetime for both of us. The cottage was well equiped couldnt have asked for anything else. We loved having breakfast on the patio and listening to birds & gecko's. After been out all day we loved to chill in the courtyard with the lights dim when it was dark in the night time and have a BBq. We both will be coming back and sharing our experience with family and friends.

We had the best experience at Steve and Tonia's house. The pictures do not do this wonderful home justice. We loved enjoying the patio every morning and the grill and hot tub in the evening.

We have no way to ask for any improvement, as we don't believe there could be any. Our concern had been "too much contact with the hosts" and much to our relief, we were warmly welcomed,... and then left alone, with the promise of help if any were needed. Thank you for the use of all of the supplies, ie: mats, beach umbrella, coolers, snorkle gear, beach towels, beach chairs, etc, etc, etc. The decor of the cottage was absolutely beautiful and warm.  Lovely Stay in Maui, Hawaii, January 29, 2006

We loved the cottage! The Baneys were the best hosts we could of ever imagined. We were enjoying our honeymoon and ran into some problems (getting our rental car broken into on Hana Highway and having left everything in our car like the brainless love birds we were) ended up on the Baneys porch in tears. Steve went to the bank and forwarded up some money to hold us over until we got everything straightened out with our banks. The Baneys went to extra mile for us at every turn - which we were and are so appreciative for! Dispite our catastrophy, we had a beautiful honeymoon. The cottage and courtyard are so much more beautiful in person and the tropical fragrance when you walk out the cottage is breathtaking. Everything you could possible need is provided at no additional fee, it is the perfect home away from home! And was more private then we had anticipated too! Thank you for the wonderful stay!
