Description of the Kihei vacation cottage rental
OUR PROPERTY
300 ft from the ocean shore is this cozy and romantic home away from home. It's on our 1/2 acre at the corner of Alaniu & Welakahao streets. This is an oasis of Old Hawaii with shops & restaurants 2 blocks to the north & south of us. The main house is a lovingly restored 1927 plantation home in the 'arts & crafts' style. The bungalow built in 1977 reflects that style while the mature palms offer wonderful privacy keeping it all in the original style. Come on down to Kihei Maui and enjoy a real private tropical getaway with affordable, reasonable rates! You won't be disappointed! It's a clean and bright artist's Studio with a wall of north light windows looking out on to the many tropical birds cooing an chirping away. Everybody who has stayed here absolutely loves it. Start walking 4 miles of beaches just a block from this lovely, private cottage. Old Hawaiian families have lived in this charming neighborhood long before the first hotels made Kihei, Wailea and the beaches of South Maui an international destination.
The property introduces you to a quiet local style of life, but still close to all the "in town" amenities of sunny, beachside Kihei.
The hot tub and gas BBQ are just a few steps off your lanai in the courtyard surrounded by lush palms, plants and orchids with a Royal Poinciana tree towering over for shade. The cottage has 14ft open beam ceilings, 2 a/c's and a ceiling fan and exhaust fan to keep it cool in summer. Beautiful island style decor with lots of rattan and wicker. Lots of beach stuff for your use, snorkel equipment, boogie boards, etc. No smoking in the cottage, but OK on the lanai(porch), ashtrays provided.
It's a long trip over here, but once you are in your cottage, it's cool & comfortable and you can quickly shut out the world and rest up after your travel day with the hot tub then have a nap on the premium comfy mattress, falling asleep to all the tropical birds on our property. Or grab your beach chairs and a cold drink, walk down to the beach and watch the sun set in to the ocean. Welcome to Maui and E Komo Mai!

Other Vacation Rental Amenities
Kalama Park has surf lessons, volleyball courts, children's playground and an inline skating rink and a skateboard park. Also baseball diamonds, basketball courts and great free public tennis courts. We have tennis racquets and balls. Fishing, surfing, snorkeling can be accessed right down the street. One mile to Kamaole County Beach Park #1 with lifeguards,washrooms and showers for safe swimming. A great beach for kids! Note: All beaches on Maui are free and open and accessible to the public, no parking fees.
The Master Bdrm has a premium double pillowtop chiropractic queen bed.
The Second Bdrm has ta double bed with a sleeper sofa in the living room. The covered lanai has enough room to seat four at the dining table.
The cottage is 750 square feet inside and another 300 feet of lanai with a 500 sq.ft. courtyard with a large gas BBQ and hot tub. Dining seating in the courtyard seats 6.
This neighborhood is true Maui style living, you get a feel for what it would be like to live here. It's very safe and friendly, and great to walk or cycle around with a State library, four-plex theater; lots of great restaurants, 18-hole golf course, dive shops, shopping centers, fitness center, & fresh-water aquatic center.

Spent all of March at this property and enjoyed everyday. Priced right and met every need we had. Owners very accomodating and cared about our comfort and needs. Any item that needed attention, very few, were cared for immediately. Kristin and Kim manage and care for the property well. If you need anything it is available on the property to make your vacation enjoyable. We are back again next year.

Thanks for making this place available to us! It was affordable but elegant.We had access to a washing machine and dryer. We loved having a stove and access to the barbeque. There was a lot of little touches they added inside and out. There was a lot of privacy when on the patio and cottage. A million Thank You's. We can't wait to come back we want to bring our kids!

Escape to paradise Maui Khei

After travelling to Florida & San Francisco visiting family with my boyfriend Christian. There's no place else but to relax at Steve & Toni's cottage we stayed there for 10 days. Its been the best experiencing holiday of a lifetime for both of us. The cottage was well equiped couldnt have asked for anything else. We loved having breakfast on the patio and listening to birds & gecko's. After been out all day we loved to chill in the courtyard with the lights dim when it was dark in the night time and have a BBq. We both will be coming back and sharing our experience with family and friends.

Not to be improved home-away-from-home

We have no way to ask for any improvement, as we don't believe there could be any. Our concern had been "too much contact with the hosts" and much to our relief, we were warmly welcomed,... and then left alone, with the promise of help if any were needed. Thank you for the use of all of the supplies, ie: mats, beach umbrella, coolers, snorkle gear, beach towels, beach chairs, etc, etc, etc. The decor of the cottage was absolutely beautiful and warm. Lovely Stay in Maui, Hawaii

We loved the cottage! The Baneys were the best hosts we could of ever imagined. We were enjoying our honeymoon and ran into some problems (getting our rental car broken into on Hana Highway and having left everything in our car like the brainless love birds we were) ended up on the Baneys porch in tears. Steve went to the bank and forwarded up some money to hold us over until we got everything straightened out with our banks. The Baneys went to extra mile for us at every turn - which we were and are so appreciative for! Dispite our catastrophy, we had a beautiful honeymoon. The cottage and courtyard are so much more beautiful in person and the tropical fragrance when you walk out the cottage is breathtaking. Everything you could possible need is provided at no additional fee, it is the perfect home away from home! And was more private then we had anticipated too! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

"After a hectic few weeks in Vancouver, it was great to come here to relax and decompress. We didn't do too much this visit but we are already planning our next trip! Better than we expected! Had everything we needed and then some. Very friendly and laid back and sincere were Steve and Tonia. Extremely reasonable rates. Snorkeling was the best and jumping off rocks at Changs pond on Hana Hwy. was very exciting. The banana bread in Haiku was amazing. Can't wait to come back to Hawaii.

Our stay in the studio cottage was delightful. The cottage is bright and airy with magnificent view of Haleakala in the morning. It offers all of the expected amenities and so much more that were unexpected. The Baneys are wonderful hosts and just nice people to get to know. The courtyard is peaceful and pretty. The extras that we used were the great gas grill, the bogie boards and the cooler.
Just to prove that I am not a member of the family, I will admit that the lack of a freezer in the kitchen was annoying since I could not keep ice cream on hand.
But without a doubt, I can heartily recommend the accommodations to anyone who favors serenity and wonderful on-site hosts.

03/20/2005 We absolutely loved our visit to Maui. We spent our first week at your lovely studio cottage. It was so comfortable and cozy with all the amenities of home. We loved having our morning coffee out on the Lanai as well as our afternoon margarita, after a day of diving or playing on the beach. The location is ideal for the boat ramp and all the wonderful beaches nearby.Kihei has many good restaurants or you can make your own on the grill provided on the courtyard.
