Awesome house, well equipped right by everything!

What a terrific house! It had everything you could think of for a beach house and it was right in the middle of the sound and the beach. Not only did it have bikes, games, books, video games, a heated pool, horseshoes, a basket ball hoop, volley ball net, etc.; It was so clean! Tonya was so nice in her emails and on the phone. She made everything easy for us. We will definitely be reccommending this house to everyone and we will definitely try to come back! Thanks so much!

The photos of this property do not do it any justice. The "Shell Shack" was absolutely amazing. It was furnished with everything that we needed for a family of 6. My teenage son spent most of his time on the Playstation that was supplied. From the moment we walked in the door, we all fell in love! The beach was across the street from the house. We ventured out to it but we had to bundle up because it was quite chilly. A lot of the area attractions were closed for the season, but we were still able to visit attractions such as the NC Aquarium and the Wright Brothers Museum. We were even able to take our kids to the arcade and to play laser tag. Tonya and Alan, the owners, were very kind and pleasant to deal with from the initial contact all the way up until it was time for us to checkout. We had a great time and definitely will use this property for our future visits to the OBX!

We stayed at the Shell Shack for a week. We had a wonderful time. The house was very clean. We had everything we needed. The pool is very nice even though it was a bit cold when we went. The pool area has plenty of room to sit and get some sun. They had a nice collection of movies to watch. We used the screened in porch to have crabs twice on our trip. The kitchen was very nice and well stocked with dishes and things to cook with. It had everything we needed and was a great location. Tonya was very nice and answered all our questions and even sent us a nice note when we got back along with our security deposit. We would love to go back again!

Great Home to Rent!

We had such a great time at the Shell Shack! It was clean and comfortable! We had everything we needed, house was well equipped, had games, bicycles, basketball, horseshoes, movies, books, etc. The pool was great! I loved the seats inside the pool - great for sipping drinks! The gas grill was great and the kitchen was fully stocked and easy to get around. We cooked a few dinners and most of our breakfasts at the house. We ate out at Captain Georges and Barefoot Bernies which were are favorites! Spankys has good hamburgers! Corolla beach was the best beach to go to - avoid it on weekends and holidays though - took us 2 hours to get there on Sunday! But we went the rest of the week and it was great! Make sure you have a 4x4! All in all it was a great trip! We will definitely look to stay here again on our next vacation!

The house was exactly as described. It was very clean and comfortable. The pool was a great place for the adults and kids to relax and have fun. We felt right at home and were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Also, the bike paths on the sound side are amazing!! Our only complaint would be that we expected easier access to the beach. Overall though it was an excellent experience!!

This house was very spacious & clean. There were plenty of supplies including beach toys, kids toys in the house, linens, baby equipment, any kitchen supplies you could need. It was the perfect house for all the age groups. It was a pleasure to stay in this home and by far rated the best house by our family that we stayed have stayed at in OBX. Planning our next years vacation already, and this house is our choice. Tonya was a great owner to work with as well answered any questions or concerns that we had.

The owner,Tonya, was great to work with. Answered any questions we had and took care of all our needs. We were a group of 5 adults and 3 toddlers. The house was perfect, everything we needed was available. Very relaxing decks, big screen TV's and lots of games to play. Every bedroom had it's own bathroom. The house is located in a very nice neighborhood and is situated between the Ocean and the Sound, a few minutes walk to either location. There is a real nice walking and biking path on the Sound side that we used every day. One of our top vacations.

The Shell Shack was awesome--fully equipped (all you need is food), comfortable, and clean. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. It is centrally located which made traveling easy to local restaurants, stores, fun parks (go-carts, put-put golf, etc) and stores, the beach, the sound and other local attractions, e.g., Wright Brothers' Memorial, Cape Hatteras, etc. We were able to take day trips to Duck and Cape Hatteras and the lighthouse and return before dark. The community it is located in is quiet and off of the main road--and not hard to find. Two days we walked or rode the bikes to the sound which was pretty and relaxing. Everyone loved the comfortable beds, the pool, game room and televisions. In the evening, there was a breeze which made sitting on the porches wonderful. The screened-in porch was perfect for dinner. We don't want to leave out the comfortable Nags Head hammocks (there were two!!)--great place to take a nap. Our favorite restaurant was Miller's Oceanfront Seafood in Nags Head. Lastly, when arranging our visit, the owner was very responsive.

I can't say enough about this property or the owners. We have been renting homes in the OBX area for many, many years and I am so happy that we happened upon this home. The owners are so pleasant and accomodating - wanting to make sure that everything is just perfect for their guests. It was like being at home with the option to go across the street to the beach. The home was VERY well stocked with everything that you could need or want for your stay. We were pleasantly surprised at all it had to offer. The location was nice - very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle but close enough that it wasn't a hastle to get to places either. At the owners suggestion, we tried Austin Seafood for crabs and were not disappointed. The kids loved the pool and the quiet neighborhood to ride bikes, scooters and rip sticks. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a hastle free, fun, relaxing vacation!! Thank you so much to Tonya for providing our family such a great vacation!!!

Best Vacation Ever!

We had a wonderful time at our stay in OBX. This house has everything you would need and more. The only thing I was worried about were the stairs and my 3 year old, but it turned out to not be an issue at all. The house is very child friendly. The house is located right in the middle of everything. There is so much to do and see in the area. We went to the beach every morning and saw dolphins out in the horizon. Such a great experience and the owners are great to work with! I would recommend ths house to everyone! We will definitely be renting this house again on our next trip.

This vacation was wonderful and our stay at this location was better than we could have hoped for. It was beautiful, spacious and included everything you could possibly need. The pool was great! The girls loved riding the bikes that were there. Everything was neat and clean and made us feel at home. The area was so nice with lots to do. What a great find.The property was easy to find located within a cul de sac. The house was clean and well maintained with a kitchen as well equipped as my own. It has all the comforts of home. We have a 4 year old and I never felt in fear of anything being damaged, very kid friendly. We love the pool and deck areas. We hope that the James family will continue to list their home for rentals. I've already recommended this rental to several friends. You can'tgo wrong with this property.

This was our first stay at this property. We usually stay at a Twiddy or SunRealty Property which has always entailed a nightmare experience with checkin's, and the cleanliness of their properties. THIS home feels like home. We were greeted personally when we arrived. It didn't take long to notice all the attention to detail ( soft towels) fully equipped kitchen and an immaculate home. We loved the convenience to all the sights and the beach was only a short distance away with a public access with bathrooms. But the thing that stood out the most, was the outstanding customer service the owners provided. A storm had knocked out the wireless internet and in no time, the owners were resolving the issue and checked to make sure our stay was satisfactory. I would highly recommend this home for a rental!!

WE loved it . Im originally from the OBX & lookin forward to relocating back. The home was clean & Had everything we needed. We will definetly rent it again . In fact would like to rent again the week of April 24th to May 1st if we can get the same rate . Only negative was it didn't have internet accesss.

We wanted to take a last minute trip to the beach to see family.Dawne got back with us right away and had everything ready when we arrived.The house was great!We had plenty of room for everyone.I loved having 2 different family rooms with flat screen tvs, the kids had their own spot to play games and hang out.Everything was clean and in good condition.Thanks for a great house!!

Sometimes when you rent a vacation home, you feel alittle mislead when you get there, but with this house that is not the case. We had a wonderful vacation and this house is perfect for families with children. The house is tastefully decorated and is very comfortable. This has been the nicest vacation house we have ever rented. Thanks again to the owners for allowing us to use their home for our summer vacation. Last but not least, you cannot beat the price on this home for all it offers.

This was a great home for a family with children.The neighborhood is wonderful for after supper walks to the sound. The beach, restaurants, and shopping are close by.We would defintly stay there agian!

This was our first trip to the OBX. It was wonderful and the house was GREAT!! It has EVERYTHING you need, just pack your clothes everything else is provided for a great vacation! I will definatly be coming back to stay here next trip!

We all had a very wonderful, fun, relaxing time. The house had everything and more that you could want. I would recommend this stay to anyone. We were all sad to see the week come to and end.. Even my 4 year old son wants to go back to "The House" :) We would love to return in the future..

We decided on renting this home for our honeymoon. As frequent North Carolina vacationers we have very high standards! This house beyond met our expectations. Very spacious, CLEAN, and a great quiet location. The pool is just the right size, and very private. This house also has everything you need for a perfect stay (towels, beach chairs, raffs, games, DVDs, etc). Do not hesitate to rent this house, it is absolutely FABULOUS!

Great beach house that had everything we needed. Very clean and modern with enough entertainment to keep us busy during rainy days. The pool was too cold to use (May) but in warm weather would have been terrific. We were worried that staying across the main road from the beach would be an inconvenience, but that was not the case. You have to drive to most places in the Outer Banks (restaurants, shops, etc.) so driving one-half mile to the beach was no big deal. There is only one queen bed and the rest were twins, so consider that if you have couples. We did not have kids with us, but this house is set up wonderfully for children with saftey in mind as well.

This is an awesome house for a family that wants to get away, but spend time with each other. The pool is just right. All the amenities of home right at your finger tips, very spacious, clean house. We loved our time there and if given the chance we will return. My whole family loved, loved, loved the house and the time we got to spend with each other. You will not go wrong renting this house....everything was wonderful. There is one thing I would change and that is to have a tv in all the rooms especially the master.
