The Puakea Ranch is a 45 min. ocean side drive from Kona Airport.

We are 2 miles south of the charming and historic town of Hawi with great restaurants, quaint shops and art galleries. We are in the heart of historic Hawaii with over 5 National Historic sites located within an 8 mile radius.

The Puakea Ranch is the historic site of the former Puakea Plantation developed in the late 1860's and became ranch headquarters in the 1900's. We are located on the gentle slopes of the Kohala Mountain range at an elevation of approximately 400 feet, less than a mile to the shore line.

We are in the "zone", as it is called here on the island. A thin strip of land between the lush rain drenched, tropical climate just a few miles north of us and the dry desert like conditions to the south. We get just enough rain to keep the ranch rich and green and enough mist to give us beautiful rainbows.

We are just a 20 min. drive north of the famous Hapuna Beach Park and world class golf courses. There are closer public beaches and even closer shore line access points all along the Kohala Cost to the north and south of us.
