OFF THE CHARTS - GREAT. Spent the weekend. My 18 year old daughter celebrated her birthday with 3 girlfriends. The cabin is amazing!!!!! Rustic brown leather couch and chair. Beds are comfy. The teenagers LOVED THE bedroom loft! Kitchen is FAB. The deck is breathtaking (qualiity deck, quality patio furniture and top shelf BBQ). Panoramic views. The ride up to Veronica's cabin is stunning. The ride down the mountain is equally stunning!! The windows in the cabin are quality too! one simply lever opens and closes with ease. Quality window treatments too. Shades go up and down with ease and beauty. Hiking around her property was BEAUTIFUL. The girls went sledding too. Thought it was all too good to be true. I was wrong - IT IS BETTER THAN THESE PHOTO'S. Veronica - THANK YOU THANK YOU. This is the best get away!! Can't wait to go back and check out every season. Worth every penny!!!!!! Have a great time. Relax and enjoy your homecooked meals by the fireplace.

Im not one to write reviews but this place I felt compelled too. This is our third stay here in the log cabin. Each season brings another outstanding experience. Pictures alone do not do this place justice. The owner Veronica and her husband are so accomodating with any questions or requests. The cabin inside has everything you could possibly need to make it feel like home and is so comfortable and cozy to stay in. There are really no words to describe this awesome place but to see it for yourself, You wont be dissapointed. We have 2 mini schnauzers and they love it too. Cant wait for our 4th visit!

I never got the opportunity to write about this wonderful winter wonderland. The views are spectacular! The cabin is tastefully decorated and very clean. The owners are extremely helpful and accommodating. Made for a very romantic secluded Valentines' getaway...by the way - bring nothing but food and clothes - they have everything you need.

Absolutely wonderful!!!! From start to finish this was the most relaxing, peaceful and rejuvenating way to celebrate the new year with my fiance!!! Booking: these days you might worry about who you're sending your money off too! But, don't fret, because Veronica and Jim, the owners, are so reliable, helpful and down to earth! Money well spent!!! Arrival: Most scenic, secluded, mountain top views with an adorable cabin atop awaiting. The cabin is truly a home. We felt welcomed right away with Veronica's attention to detail; even taking the time to put up holiday decorations! Everything you could possibly need, she has there available at your disposal. The cabin is so clean and cozy. Beds are super comfortable, and the wood burning fireplace is a source of warmth and relaxation. The views from the cabin r spectacular, wonderful during any season. Each day we went out adventuring to a different mountain village...Oneonta has great pubs, and Margretville is very quaint with cute shops. Best of all, the little ski town of Wyndam is less then a half hour away. The skiing was amazing! The owners were gracious enough to allow our dog to come with us. She was in her glory being able to run free! It was truly a much needed escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Who ever takes advantage of this gem nestled within the forest, will take a little piece of serenity back home with them! We can't wait to go again!!! Thanx, Veronica and Jim for sharing your home with us! :)

THIS place was the most relaxing vacation for me, the views are amazing, and you are very secluded. my dog loved it also, leash freand we hiked a little everymorning. we played badmitton volleyball, sat out at the firepit at night and had hot chocolate, rustic and clean, and everything you needed was there.ive never rented a cabin before, and this was just perfect for all of us we all loved it we went columbus day weekend and the foliage was spectacular, the views are magical. we pulled up and we got chills. loved loved loved it, and the owners made it very easy for us communication was great, veronica answered her phone everytime i called, and there is a book she leaves there with things to do, we went horseback riding and drove into wyndam one day for a fair, we made breakfast every morning and made home made waffles (she has a waffle maker) all the utensils you need everything but food we shopped down here (long island) and brought up our liquor and food it worked out perfect, there are dvds to watch, i cant say enough about how much we all enjoyed it.will definitely do it again, this time we will go in summer, but i think anytime up here would be magical. and there are bird feeders with food so you can see the beautiful birds, and at night you can sometimes here the coyotes.loved it i have beautiful pictures also.

We recently stayed at this cabin to ring in 2010. As soon as we arrived to the cabin the first thing we noticed was the breathtaking view. It was like being on top of the world! The decor was very tasteful. Cabin was cozy with a nice fireplace and loft. It was fully stocked and well maintained. The kitchen was a bit small and outdated but good enough. The pictures of the cabin on the internet made the inside seem bigger than it was. The living room has a couch and a love seat - enough room to fit 4 people. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 kids. The property is huge, tucked away and secluded from any neighbors. We enjoyed sleigh riding right on the property! Overall our stay was wonderful.

This was the most amazing cabin, and such a quiet relaxing weekend. The cabin is located in South Kortright, only about 2.5 hours from where we are in Manhattan, and the cabin itself is an easy drive to all the quaint little towns nearby. Also Supermarkets and drug-stores. My boyfriend and I cooked a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner in the fully stocked kitchen (I didn't need to take half the cookware I did - everything was supplied). The cabin itself is so cozy and warm, with heating, and a huge wood fire, great views from the deck, and no neighbors to be seen - very secluded. The queen bed was very comfortable. They also had two more bedrooms with set of twin beds - one room was a loft which kids would love! Big dining table, and large comfortable living room. The bathroom had a tub! I was very excited about that! TV was a plasma with a DVD player, No Cable - there are lots of DVDs there, or bring your own, or just don't watch! It was lovely to curl up on the couch with a book and warm apple cider instead! Thanks so much to the owners Veronica and Jim - such a memorable time - thanks for making my first turkey cooking attempt so stress free! We would most definitely stay there again - next time for a week at least.

Our stay at the cabin was exceptional; our hosts were personable and attentive which made our stay all the more enjoyable. The views and property are fantastic which inspire relaxation for an overall calming experience. Once there you’ll find that the everyday hustle and bustle of city life simply slips away. If you’re looking for the perfect weekend getaway “The Cabin” is the place for you. Thank you V&J for our very memorable and enjoyable stay.

As a family of five, we have enjoyed the Catskills for summer and winter vacations every year since 1999. By far #42574 has been our favorite experience of any season. The cabin is gorgeous, well maintained, with spectacular views and unsurpassed peace/solitude. The property easy to find and only 10 minutes from a nice medium sized town. While we enjoyed the nearby horseback riding, golf and nature hikes - we mostly enjoyed just hanging out at the cabin – spending most of our time on the oversized deck which overlooks a valley with views that go back maybe 50 miles – simply breathtaking! We relaxed, played games, read, cooked, walked the adjoining woods and told stories around the camp fire. We will never forget the mornings on the deck sharing coffee as the children slept, with the valley below filled with clouds - it was like waking up in heaven! Although we never met the family, we had pleasant dealings with them - which only added to the easy-going hassle-free experience. In short, #42574 is as close to the perfect getaway cabin you're likely to find!

We really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. They've done a lot of work on the place, and the porch, furniture and decorating are great. Owner is friendly. But most of all, you just can't beat the views--they made it worth every penny. You are in the middle of nowhere overlooking a few farms across the valley. Just completely idyllic, and the perfect escape for us country kids living in NYC. There were a few things that could have been better, but weren't enough to make for a bad experience: the appliances were old, so the fridge was noisy and the microwave didn't have enough chutzpah to pop the popcorn. There is no cable or DVDs, just some local TV stations, so we went into town and bought some DVDs. Also, this cabin is NOT in Catskill, NY. It's in S. Kortright, which is IN the Catskills. This made for a longer drive than we were planning. Make sure to get very specific directions from the owner--Google maps couldn't even get us off the main highway correctly, and then the cabin is really tucked away and it's easy to get turned around up there.

The cabin itself was beautiful, as well as the surrounding property. We took advantage of everything the place had to offer, from taking a hike, enjoying lunch and dinner on the deck, building a beautiful bon fire in the outdoor pit, to enjoying the indoors fireplace at night. The weather was perfect to enjoy everything. Early in the morning the fog filled the valley below and you could see this for miles and miles we were above the fog. Be sure to get good directions as this could be a little confusing. Overall I would and may stay there again next year.

As soon as we arrived at the cabin, it felt like we were on top of the world. The beauty of the Catskills are beyond description. Veronica was extremely accomodating and helpful. The decor was slightly out-dated, but everything else made up for it ten fold. I would definitely reccommend it to anyone looking for a romantic get-away. Be sure to check out the art gallery in Stamford!
