Description of the Lackawaxen vacation chalet rental
5 minutes from ski lift, horseback riding and sledding/fishing/beach.
A brand new chalet with beautiful carpeting, living room with cathedral ceiling, extra large three bedrooms plus loft, two full baths, huge beautiful sunroom, kitchen, gas fireplace, washer and drier, front and back decks with grill. Located in a luxury all-year round resort community of Masthope, two hours drive from NYC or Philadelphia. The house is within a five minute walk (0.4) mi. to the Olympic Size Pool/bar/restaurant with slides, diving boards, kiddie pool. Masthope community also offers beach with swimmable lake including boating, fishing, volleyball court, snack bar. That is not all : Masthope community also offers tennis and basketball courts, horseback riding, private access to Delaware river with picnic area. In the winter: downhill skiing, snow boarding, tubing at Ski Big Bear. Brand new lodge with fire places, restaurant, bar, game room, ping-pong, billiard and a stunning views of the mountains. The community is within a short distance from scenic towns of Milford, Hawley, Narrowsburg and Honesdale.
Large home will easily accomodate 5 couples and 4 children. I suggest 8 people but more are welcome. No pets. No smoking indoors.

New Olympic Sized Pool with food/drink service poolside. A pool for the small children also. Outside bar area. Inside restaurant.
Adjoining the pool area is a brand new facility including restaurant, inside bar/grill, gameroom, pool tables, knock hockey, ping pong, etc.
Next to the pool is : tennis, basketball, paddleball, play ground, baseball field, etc.
Down the road is a private lake with: beach, boating, fishing (stocked), snack bar, bocci courts, etc.
In the area: lovely towns with charm, antiques, restaurants, state game lands, golf, rivers, etc.

Other Vacation Rental Amenities
Horseback riding for adults and pony rides for kids are available for a small charge. Brand new facilities. Plenty to do. Beautiful relaxing community.
The house being rented is an eye-catcher. There are aren't any others as nice for this price.
In addition to 5 beds, there are 3 air mattresses and 2 large overstuffed couches. My kids sleep on these when I visit. Sleeping is for 16, but we recommend 12.

Nice Mountain Escape

We stayed at this home for a week as a summer getaway from the heat in Virginia. It is a very accommodating and well-equipped house. The kitchen had everything we needed to put on some very nice meals. Our family and a couple of friends made up 7 adults in the house. Our 21 year olds enjoyed the ping pong, pool and video games in the ground level game room. There was plenty of room for us - the house is spacious and so lovely and bright with all of the windows. There is a lot to do in the community with the pool, the lake, tennis courts, ski lodge and surrounding towns that were fun to explore. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in this home. We would certainly rent this home again. The owner was very responsive in answering any questions we had.

We stayed in this house for my wife's 30th birthday. It was everything we wanted. Clean, new, plenty of room and plenty to do. The wrap around porch was perfect for hanging out, the kitchen was open and great for cooking and the game room downstairs gave the kids plenty of room to run around. We had 5 couples and 6 kids stay the night and there was plenty of room. Highly recommend!!

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because a few little things: the sheets provided did not fit the beds and the picture was not a picture of the house we stayed at...BUT the house we stayed at was perfect and we loved every minute! I would totally go back. Everything you could possibly need to stay at the house was provided and we felt very at home!!!

Family vacation

We had a great time, we were a little disappointed at the distance to the beach,( not in walking distance,). but we did enjoy the beach, and the fishing at the beach. You should inform the renters that adults will need to get a Pa. fishing permit, for out of state guest.($26) kids can fish for free up to 16. The permit lets you fish the Delaware Rive on either side NY of Pa.(permits can be gotten on line and printed out before you arrive) NY is only 15 min. away, we did white water rafting, and fishing there, had dinner in NY one nigh, on the river. The grandchildren loved feeding the deer, that came to the house every day, the deer love peanut butter and jelly. (white or wheat)lol The Cuckoo Nest was a great place to take the family (12), every one enjoyed there meal (even the health nuts).The grandchildren want to come back next year, there is still more to do.We used the pool every day, the whole family, the kids loved the water slides,(even the big ones). It truly is a place geared to family's, so if any one is looking for family fun and get together, this is the place to go!!The Owens"

The pool is walking distance. The beach is biking distance. Both are awesome. It is true that PA and NY both require a freshwater permit for adults to fish. (I have never seen anyone get a ticket or even questioned.)

House actually has 4 bedrooms, not 5 but there is a loft with 3 air mats. and there is a pullout sofa in gameroom. We got the there the day before the ski lift closed for the season, so that was disappointing and the horseback riding doesn't begin until May so we had 2 down falls. We just made adjustments but added a lot more driving to do stuff that we wanted. The house has lots of space and in the season seems to have a lot to do. Spring is definately an off season time and nothing going on at resort. The only other inconveniance is having to travel w sheets, etc. and making up the bedding when you get there, dealing with the trash when the dump hours are very limited is also a pain and this should all be included in your fees/rent...new thing for us. Overall though, the house is great and if you go at the right time there seems to be a lot to do. There is a $50 fee when you check in and the 8 passes that are referred to on the ad. just entitles you to a 25% discount on lift tickets alone. Still would recommend this place, we would go again, just at a differant time and now we know what to expect so there would be no surprises

New Year's Getwaway

We stayed here for a 4 days and it was perfect. We had 4 adults & 7 kids and there was more than enough room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. The house was immaculate and very close to skiing/tubbing. Everyone at the community was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this home.

Our Summer Vacation

If you are looking for a serene, relaxing and fun place to go to with your family and friends - then this is the place to go - really! The house was beautiful and very, very clean. Very sunny and soooooooooo much space! It was 7 of us and we all loved it! Owner was very responsive and kind to answer all the million questions i had while booking - such as thing had happened to me very rarely. The community is great - it has all you need to keep you busy and your kids entertained. We all were very pleased and very happy - we had an awesome time! We will be back this winter and many more times. Thank you.

Great Getaway

We stayed here for four days and it was great. The house is absolutely beautiful. It is very spacious, there were four adults and four kids and we had plenty of room. There is so much to do and the house is in a great location. Joe was very helpful and answered all our questions. If you want to spend quality time with your family this is a great the place to go. You can swim, fish, horseback ride. take out a boat or just do nothing but enjoy beautiful surroundings. We can't wait to go back.
