Laguna Beach is a seaside resort and artist community located in southern Orange County, California, and includes 7 miles of coastline with some of Southern California most scenic beaches and coves. Laguna got its name long ago from the Ute-Azteca Indian word for lakes, Lagonas. Spaniards who arrived later called it Canada de las Lagunas (Canyon of the Lakes) and in 1904, the area became known as Laguna Beach. Almost from the beginning, Laguna Beach has stood apart from the rest of Orange County. The land in and around Laguna Beach rises quickly from the shoreline into the hills and canyons of the San Joaquin Hills. Because of its hilly topography and surrounding parklands, there are few roads into or out of town: only the Pacific Coast Highway connecting to Newport Beach to the northwest and to Dana Point to the south, and State Route 133 crossing the hills in a northeastern direction through Laguna Canyon.
Some of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Orange County are found in Laguna Beach. You will find an array of beachfront cottages to palatial ocean estates in gate-guarded communities with the combination of alluring hillside homes with spectacular views of the entire coastline out to Catalina Island. Great location, unreal views, close to beach best beach in laguna. house had everything and owner was gracious and helpful. best summer rental and we have rented in laguna for 20 years
