Located 90 miles East of Los Angeles, an alpine lake at an elevation of almost 6,000 feet, Lake Arrowhead had been a getaway for silent screen stars of the 20’s and an active film location spot since the 1940’s. Currently the lake is private; a membership to the several beach clubs, hiking trails and marina is included in your rental.
The cabin is a five minute drive around the lake from Arrowhead Village which contains food markets, several restaurants, factory outlets including Coach and Bass, the country’s first water ski school , large paddle boat lake tours, and a lakefront park for picnics. In the next nearby village of Blue Jay there is a five screen movie theater, Olympic training ice skating rink, and a Jensen’s gourmet super market.
The entire lake area is surrounded by the San Bernardino Mountains which have the best hiking trails and trout fishing streams in southern California. In the winter months there is a wonderful local ski slope with five lifts only twenty minutes from your living room.
Lake Arrowhead is a year round resort with all the amenities that make for a delightful vacation. At one mile high there are cool summer nights and moderate winter temperatures with enough snow falls to keep the ski area busy.
Area Information
Music: Arrowhead Village has live bands on weekends during the warm months
Movie Theater: Two big screens are located in Blue Jay about 10 minutes from Arrowhead
Fishing: Several spots around the “stocked” lake. Mostly “catch & release” unless 12”-18”
Tour Boat: Lake Arrowhead is privately owned by those of us that own property immediately around the lake. The “Arrowhead Queen” is the only public boat on the lake. It leaves hourly from the Village. Cost $12 for a 50 minute tour (I think it is pretty cool.)
Lake: Privately owned Lake Arrowhead is 14 miles around and 185 feet deep. Your rental comes with full lake rights including membership for up to 10 adults to the lake, marina, yacht club, beaches, boat club and hiking trails.
Groceries: Jensen’s Market is one block from the cabin, Stater Bros is 1 mile.
Dining: Two blocks from the cabin is Cedar Glen Inn – great hometown cooking in a very rustic diner atmosphere (feels like Opie & Aunt Bea will be there any minute). there are several other restaurants tucked away all over the mountain.
Snow Sports: Snow Valley is 10 minutes North and Big Bear about 30 minutes North. They have slopes, sledding hills and snowboarding at both of those locations.

Authentic Lake Arrowhead

This place is amazing. It has the feel of a grand lodge in a national park with huge windows looking out through oak and cedar trees from a great room with a cathedral ceiling. My family celebrated our mom's 70th & brother's 50th with siblings, kids and grandkids over a long weekend here. The property is incredibly picturesque & comfortable. The furnishings are thoughtful and felt like stepping back in time yet with modern conveniences. The hot tub was perfect for soothing sore muscles in a woodland setting after a long hike on a portion of the nearby Pacific Crest Trail. A convenience store is within walking distance as well as beautiful shops and the lake trail. If you are looking for an authentic and charming Lake Arrowhead getaway, you will enjoy staying here.

Gorgeous Cabin

First of all the cabin is gorgeous. The decor is comfortable and beautiful. It has all the amenities and is close to everything. Hiking is wonderful and the lake is fabulous. There is a waterskiing school in the town where my son had a blast. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a great food store a short walk away. I highly recommend this cabin for the ease of getting there and the pleasure of being there.

What a spot! Probably shouldn't speak too highly of it in case too many people catch on and we can't get a spot! Steve was very helpful before and during our stay. No drama at all and very helpful directions to get there and get situated in the cabin. Cabin has everything we needed for our 3 night stay. It snowed quite heavily the first night we were there but the fireplace and heaters were plenty to keep us cozy and warm. Also shovels and window scraper to help easily clear the car and driveway off the next morning. Also very friendly neighbors! Lots of tips for me as a novice snow dweller! The cabin is beautiful and while very rustic, it still has plenty of power outlets and wifi for us techno-addicts. We will definitely be coming back some time very soon. We had a girls weekend - and this was a great spot to just decompress! Lake Arrowhead is beautiful and we will definitely be back in the summer. We chose the house merely based on the pictures and it lived up to all our expectations. Lots of space, two living areas, perfect little kitchen, great hot tub and deck. It's cozy enough that you can just relax all day at home or get out and about and return to the perfect cabin-like mountain house. The Village is walkable (about a mile) and there are a few little restaurants to eat in. The resort is great for a cocktail (or two) and The Cottage is a great pizza and/or brunch place a little out of town. The owner was great to work with and we will be back!

This cabin is exactly as described, nicely decorated, very cozy and has everything you need. We cooked most our meals there and found the kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfy and everything was clean, no complaints in that area thankfully. The hot tub took a long time to heat up, which is a little inconvenient, but it eventually got up to temperature and was a nice bonus to the cabin. All in all I would highly recommend staying here!

We just returned from a very relaxing and enjoyable trip to Lake Arrowhead and much of that was due to our choice of rentals. Our cabin was fantastic and beat all our expectations! Steve's place is a very authentic, well equipped, cozy and all-around beautiful place to stay. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, the living rooms were spacious, and the spa was great. The pictures don't do the place justice. If you want to enjoy a nice retreat in the mountains, I'd highly recommend this cabin.

The Most AWESOME place to stay---Anywhere!!!
I took my husband to stay in Lake Arrowhead for his 50th Birthday. We both feel fortunate to have had the experience of staying at such a Beautiful and Charming cabin!!! This place has such incredible romantic appeal. There is a warm glow as soon as you walk in the door! We Highly recommend this 1920's gem!!! You will not be disappointed. Great place that is fun, easy to get to, and dog friendly to boot!! Thank you for Everything!!!
Quintessential Cabin!!!
My family had an awesome time at this rental. The decor was modern and vintage and super cool. The kids loved all of TVs and different places in the house to hang out. The cabin was clean and ready to enjoy. Steve covered a lot of small details that really made it feel like a top quality vaca rental. We hope to return and would definitely recommend family and friends.
