Beautiful home minutes from one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, in a village called Santa Cruz La Laguna. My home is located in a gorgeous valley overlooking the lake. Very private and quiet. 2 bedrooms, with loft, fireplace, one of kind bathroom, wood burning sauna, and hot tub, lush gardens. Must see, I can send photos. My home is warm and furnished with local flare, but with all the conveniences of 1st world living. Other amendatiies: housekeeping service (laundry and clean house. (5 days a week), baby sitting services available, full time caretaker can do grocery shopping once a week, TV and DVD player, minutes from 5 locals inns, no cars in Santa Cruz... a 15 boat ride from Panajachel...great swimming, hiking, and just being quiet. weekly 300US, more than 2 weeks 250 per week or 1000US per month. Area Description

Guatemala is wonderful destination to get away from the 1st world. I live on Lake Atitlan...called one of the most beautiful places in the world. fly in to Guatemala City and a private shuttle will pick you up (60US) and take you to lake (2.5 hour drive) or stop in Antigua (40 mins from airport, Quaint Spanish Colonial City for a few days and then come to lake 2 hour drive). The lake has many villages to visit where you can absorb the Mayan culture (very colorful, simple and heart warming). The lake is an hour drive to Chi Chi (big market to shop) or simply take a 15 minute boat ride to Panajachel for shopping. You maybe tempted to take in the many sites of Guatemala or simply stay in Santa Cruz for a relaxing vacation of reading, hiking, hanging out, swimming, boating.
