This is the perfect home for a family vacation. The yard and gardens were gorgeous and the house is updated and comfortable. We brought small children and they loved all the space to run around outside. The house sits on a very quiet road, perfect for bike rides. We had a great time relaxing at home and exploring the local attractions. The owner was accomodating and easy to work with, I would highly recommend this house!

Apartments, homes, cabins and condos are among the choices when it comes to appealing vacation rentals. Lake Champlain has accommodations to meet the needs of any family. Take a look at some of the specific attractions and events perfect for families who are staying in vacation rentals on Lake Champlain.
Attractions
Naturally, families who are looking online at Lake Champlain rentals by owner want to learn about some of the local attractions. One of the most popular things to do is to ride the Lake Champlain Ferry. This ferry ride offers families beautiful views of the lake along with a view of the Adirondack Mountains. It's a relaxing, peaceful ride that is sure to please every member of the family.
Another favorite activity for families who take advantage of Lake Champlain rentals during the summer months is to rent a bicycle. Families may want to dedicate a couple of days or more bicycling around the islands of Lake Champlain. The amount of traffic is very low making this is an ideal activity for families with younger children. There is nothing like observing the lake, trees, flowers and wildlife while gliding along on a bicycle.
Families who stay in Lake Champlain vacation rentals also enjoy scuba diving in the lake. They can witness the underwater cliffs as well as a variety of fish and other sea creatures. Some vacationers who are certified divers check into scuba gear rental so they can go on a dive to see the debris of one of nine shipwrecks that occurred in Lake Champlain. For instance, there's a canal schooner from 1862 by the name of O. J. Walker. There is also a shipwreck called the Horse Ferry. This was a ferry drawn by horses and is the only horse ferry shipwreck on record.
Grand Isle State Park is in Lake Champlain on South Hero Island. This family-friendly state park offers activities such as kayaking, boating, fishing, camping and hiking trails. A family may want to take a rowboat out and explore the lake and its many inhabitants. Sand-court volleyball games and horseshoes are also a part of the fun at Grand Isle State Park.
Events
People who decide to stay in one of the many Lake Champlain vacation rentals may want to attend the annual Lake Champlain Maritime Festival. This festival celebrates the maritime history of Lake Champlain by displaying many types of boats. Long boats, canoes, kayaks and classic boats are among the exhibitions at the festival. The variety of local foods available as well as the music makes the Lake Champlain Maritime Festival a favorite with both residents and vacationers. Families who want to attend this festival will want to search for Lake Champlain cabin rentals that are available in early August when the festival takes place.
The annual Champlain Islands Farmers' Market is another fun event for families who stay in one of the many Lake Champlain cabins. Visitors can purchase local foods including jellies, breads, fruits, vegetables, pies and more! The Champlain Islands Farmers' Market begins in late May and ends in early October.
