Description of the Lake Champlain vacation home rental
When you visit our private lakefront home located on a rural dead end road on Lake Champlain you can enjoy a quintessential Vermont lake vacation. You can choose to enjoy a quiet time of tranquility, privacy, and peace. If you choose to be more active, this is the perfect place to bike, hike, canoe, kayak, swim and fish. And then there are the rest of the Vermont to explore!
The vacation home is located on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain looking west over small islands and "Grand Isle", the largest island in Lake Champlain Islands. The home faces west towards the summer sunsets. The vacation home is about a 30 minute drive from Burlington and from St Albans. It is a ten minute drive from the "Sandbar" which is the connection of the Lake Champlain Islands to the eastern shore of Vermont.
The home is near the end of a dead-end dirt road with little traffic. It is located on a wooded lot on a bluff above the lake. While there are homes on either side, they are spaced well apart and the hedges, woods and distance make the home very private. The beach is accessed by about
20 steps down to the lake shore which is small pebbles.
The water is clean and crystal clear
This three bedroom house has been fully renovated in late 2007 and has been freshly painted inside with warm cozy colors and decorated with comfortable and inviting furnishings. It is full of light and fresh air.
The home is a hillside ranch with the upper floor with the living room, dining room, kitchen, full bathroom and two bedrooms and a hugh screened porch along the entire
side of the house facing the lake. The lower floor has a very large family room and a very large bedroom with private bath and laundry room.
You will likely spend most of your time on the screened porch off the upper floor which is the full length of the house and overlooks the lake, small islands, Grand Isle and the Adirondacks beyond.
On the upper floor:
the large living room and dining face the lake through the porch and over the southern lawn. Between the living and dining rooms is a wood stove style gas heaterwhich can be used to take off the chill at the flick of a switch.
The kitchen is fully updated with full size electric stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and all the necessary cookware, dishes and utensils. There is a grill and picnic table outside.

When you visit our lakefront home located on a rural dead end road on the western shore of Lake Champlain you can enjoy a quintessential Vermont lake vacation. You can choose to enjoy a quiet time of tranquility, privacy, and peace. You can rock on the screened porch or on the
patio and gaze at the lake's neverending beauty, hear the loons, and enjoy the sunset over the bay and the Adirondacks beyond. You can wind down. Nap. Read. Do a jigsaw puzzle. Watch the sunset. Putter around. Just sit on the beach or the lakeside patio.
If you choose to be more active, this is the perfect place to bike, hike, canoe, kayak, and fish. You can swim in the crystal clear water. You can fish right from the shore. The area has miles of rolling paved and unpaved roads for biking.
Or you can just go for a long walk on the miles of quiet dirt roads.
But if you want to leave the camp but not go far away--
It's 10 minutes to the Sand Bar State Park with Vermont's longest sand beach, where you can rent kayaks and windsurfers or the Sand Bar Marina where you can rent a boat to explore the islands or a small pitch and putt golf course
It's 10-15 minutes to the village of South Hero, where you can get a burger or ice cream or visit the apple orchards for which the island is famous and pick up an Papa Ray's Apple Pie, or shop for antiques or visit the Snow Farm Winery with surprisingly good grape wines--go for a tour
or attend one of the many concerts held there during the summer.
The islands are the home to the summer home of the famous Royal Lipizzan Stallions in North Hero and you can go see them perform.
If you want to leave the Lake (and you may not) --

It's about the same to the charming town of St Albans
