Description of the Lake Elmore vacation cottage rental

Idlewild Cottage is located on the east shore of Lake Elmore. It provides a lovely panoramic view of the lake and Elmore Mountain. It was originally constructed in about 1880 and was renovated during the summer of 1999. We have tried to retain a feeling of the past and hope that our guests will enjoy relaxing in our old, but reconstructed, cottage.

The property has a new dock, a lovely porch, and many appliances. There is no TV service and water for showers and toilets is drawn from the lake. Potable water is provided by the owners who live next door. A variety of family games and puzzles are provided.

Lake Elmore is located in northern Vermont. It is about a 20 minute drive to Stowe, 30 minutes to Montpelier and 60 minutes to Burlington. Shopping is available 4 miles away in Morrisville and at the Elmore Store. On the northern end of the lake is Elmore State park and at the southen end is a boat launch. The park has a very nice beach and a variety of boats are available for rent.

The Stowe and Montpelier areas provide a varity of dining opportunities as well as many family activities. These include an alpine slide, gondola rides, and bicycle and horseback riding.
There are many mountains in the area that provide hiking and climbing opportunities
