There is no better way to enjoy nature than nestled in a maple tree-laden setting across from beautiful Lake Elmore. Enjoy feeding the ducks, taking walks or a boat ride around the picturesque lake. A short walk will take you to a real Maple Sugar Shack or visit the Elmore State Park for mountain climbing, boat rental and other recreational activities. On the way, stop by the one-room schoolhouse and the historic Elmore Store. A must see for local and homemade offerings as well as fresh meats, groceries and beverages.
Just minutes from Stowe, Vermont and shopping.

Even in a hurricane.

We arrived on Saturday with an impending hurricane Sunday. The owners were wonderful and made sure we were ok to weather the storm. Everything was fine and we went on to have one of the best, relaxing vacations to date. There is so much to see and do. We hiked Elmore Mt and boated in the lake. The General store in town is a must see and you have to try the cheese. It's Cabot of course. Elmore is called the beauty spot for VT. We understand why!

Elmore Cottage Vacation

Since the accommodations did not pretend to be other than a "camp", no more than rudimentary conveniences were expected or experience. There is a full kitchen with adequate refrigerator and stove, a small microwave oven and automatic coffeepot and a TV with DVD and Video player. Only two or three channels were available, but since we were not there for TV, that was no matter. There is also a propane-fired outdoor grill that proved very serviceable. The main cabin has two bedrooms and a large combination kitchen, dining, and living room with OK furniture. There is also a small bath with shower, toilet and washbasin. One of the bedrooms had a comfortable Queen bed, the other tow single beds. Both had chests of drawers and a small closet. The place as a whole was neat and clean. The outbuilding has a a double bed, with enough room for chairs and chest of drawers--also very neat and clean. The cottage is above the camp road, so it does not sit directly on the beach of Lake Elmore, though access to the lake and a dock is readily available a short walk down across the road. While this might be disappointing to some, it was ideal for our party, as we had a 2 1/2 year old toddler, and there was plenty of grass for him to play without having to worry about having him too close to the water. The owners live directly below the cottage in a lakefront home, and were very helpful and friendly, ready to supply anything that was needed. The even took us on a ride around the lake, which was very much enjoyed.
