Located in the beautiful Tarryall Valley with scenic historic preservation sites along the winding picturesque byway, Lazy River Ranch is a hay and cattle ranch. It is also a well-stocked premier fly fishing paradise. 24" rainbow trout are not uncommon nor is the sighting of large elk, deer and big horn sheep. The elk and deer come down to the river in late evening or early morning to drink and a skillful hunter will even see wild turkey and sage grouse. At 8,800 to 9,000', the 160 acre ranch backs to the Lost Creek Wilderness and offers spectacular views from hiking trails that can take you up to 12,000'. The 3'000 sq foot ranch house is new, completed late summer of 2008, and is beloved by the owners because there are no mice!

The river is strictly fly fishing, catch and release on 1¼ miles of stream bordered by some willows winding through irrigated hay meadows in a gently rolling valley bottom. You will hear coyotes and owls at night as you star gaze at a sky where you will clearly see the Milky Way and more stars than you knew existed. There is an outdoor fireplace to keep you warm and for roasting marshmallows. After just a day or two you will feel like you have finally gotten that long-needed rest. As your cares melt away you will see the world in a whole new light - come visit and discover!

It's an easy 85 mile drive South West of Denver or 60 miles North West of Colorado Springs. Ask for directions when you make your reservation.

This Colorado mountain, river-side property is an easy 85 mile drive South West of Denver or 60 miles North West of Colorado Springs. It is close to Spinney, Eleven Mile and Tarryall reservoirs and not far from access to the Colorado Trail. There are many places to visit in the area such as Fairplay with its restaurants and old historic town, Buena Vista and nearby hot springs, Cripple Creek gambling, the Cave of the Winds outside Colorado Springs and most importantly – the wide open spaces, hiking trails, wilderness areas and pure Rocky Mountain air. There is a barn and corral on the property where you are welcome to keep your own horses and there is access to Wilderness from the property.

• Deposits: 50% Deposit with remainder due when keys are delivered. Weekly rate excluding fishing: $2000. Refundable damage deposit required.
   
• Other Fees: If there are any stains to carpets, floors or furniture, cleaning fee will be imposed. Smoking is allowed outside only. $1,000 fee will be added if occupants smoke inside. Fishing: $35per person (fishing license required) Shorter stays negotiable.

We couldn't believe anyone would want to share this little piece of heaven with others. It was all that was advertized and more. Hiking right out the back door, elk in the morning and such a peaceful setting. I even caught a fish! Whether you are indoors or out, peace abounded. Too many amenities to list. The owners are a special family, indeed!
