Beautiful fall trip

We rented this cabin so we could explore Lake James and the Linville Gorge. The cabin was clean and neat. Beds are comfortable. The owners have all the information and maps and direction in an organized book so you can pick what you want to see and have the information. We also enjoyed the fire ring and being right on the river with our kayaks. We will return .

Owner's reply:

We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and was able to explore our beautiful lake and mountains! With Fall in full swing, this is one of the best times to hike and experience the change of season with the lovely leaves. Please come and visit again soon, Thanks!

Neat little spot

Pretty little house nestled in a small community just off the lake. Not as close to the water as we would have liked, but just a stones throw from the Linville River repleat with a GREAT swimming hole and place where you can read books in the rapids. Teri is awesome to deal with, and the house reflects her sweat disposition. Very comfortable and charming.

Karen Hennesse

Owner's reply:

Thanks for you kind words Trey. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. No, we are not on Lake James, but the house has easy access to the lake and of course the river behind the house. Nothing like floating down the river on a hot summer afternoon. We are happy you enjoyed hiking as well. Take care and we hope you visit again soon.

Hidden Gem!

Wow! What a fun time we had! My husband and I took our 3 boys (9, 11, and 13 yrs) on an "outdoor" family vacation but had no idea how much of a great time was ahead of us. This Cabin is so charming and comfortable with all of the amenities PLUS. We absolutely loved the river in the back of the house and boys had hours of fun tubing down it. The neighbors were all so nice/welcoming and helpful. My boys loved using the mountain bikes from the shed and roasting s'mores on the fire at night! The cabin is located so close to everything including Lake James State Park with a ton of things to do! Morganton is very close and such a sweet town. Don't forget to check out the Linville Caverns and Falls and if you want more thrills, ziplining at the Beanstalk Journey in Catawba Meadows or tubing/Kayaking down 6 miles on Green River Cove, so much fun! Thank you to Teri the owner who recommended most of our activities and made our summer vacation one to remember! What a hidden little gem, highly recommended and absolutely receives a stamp of approval by this family! We definitely plan on revisiting... Thank you!!!

Excellent stay

This cabin is just simply stunning!! Not only is the cabin charming, but so is the surrounding area. The river is beautiful, great for kyaking and swimming. The cabin was well stocked with amenities, and the bathroom had a full size washer and dryer. We are planning on renting again this coming summer. The owners are fantastic to work with, and graciously answered my many questions. The cabin is in a secluded area, yet is within 15 miles of downtown Morganton. Morganton has many local artisian galleries, stores, and great locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, and even 2 breweries. We can not wait to come back!!

Karen Hennesse

Owner's reply:

Hi Nancy - So glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. We agree, this area is about the best for outdoor activities in North Carolina, especially so close to amenities and I-40. Can't wait to host you all again. So very happy you enjoyed the cabin. We try to provide everything you need for a magical stay.

Quaint Cabin

This was a quaint cabin located in a quiet setting. Not as private as we had hoped, but had river views and a great firepit area.

Karen Hennesse

Owner's reply:

Thanks for visiting Michelle. We hope you will come again. We do have some lovely neighbors who live in our community year round. Best wishes to you.

Very Charming

This cabin is so relaxing to stay in. The kitchen has everything you could need. The owners made sure you know of all the local sites and things to do in the area. It was so nice to fall asleep to the sound of the river flowing out back of the cabin. The pictures do not do this cute cabin justice, by cute I do not mean small. There is room for everyone here and you will not be on top of one another. The stone walls are awesome and some history of the cabin would be appreciated. The bathroom is modern and spacious with a great washer and dryer to wash your clothes from all the hiking, swimming, and biking you can do practically in the backyard. The owners have done a great job of making their home feel like your home. You never want to leave. If you and your family want to get away from it all this is the place to go. Or if you want to get together with family you haven't seen in a while this is also the place to go. Our family really enjoyed staying here and will in the future stay here again. Thank you Terry and Jo for sharing your little piece of heaven with us.

Karen Hennesse

Owner's reply:

Thanks Dawn. So glad you guys enjoyed your stay. Yes, the cabin is bigger than it looks over 1,300 square feet, the living spaces feel large. We are so lucky to be located in the middle of some of the best hiking in the state. Being both in the mountains and near the lake is really special, something for everyone in the Lake James area. Hope to see you back again soon!!

Karen Hennesse

So glad you enjoyed it Jason. Our neighbors are one of our biggest assets! It is an old fashioned community here! Hope you come again soon.

Nice Cabin

The cabin was comfortable and the location was exactly where we wanted to stay.

Karen Hennesse

Owner's reply:

So glad we could host you Carol. Yes, it is a great location, close to all good things outdoors, swimming, hiking, biking, and still pretty undiscovered by the masses.
