Looking for a mountain getaway in a quiet mountain lake community? Lakeside Retreat, on Laurel Lake, even has its own private sand beach! Go for a swim, fish right off the dock, take the canoe for a relaxing ride, lounge by the lake and take in the sun, curl up with a good book in front of a roaring fire, or relax in the whirlpool tub. Enjoy the views while hanging out the gameroom -- equipped with foose ball, pool table, TV, DVD, VCR and board games. Comes with all the conveniences of home like a gas grill, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

You are just 29 miles east of Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. You can tour the mansion and winery, and at Christmastime enjoy the beautifully decorated trees and lights. Biltmore Village is home to many unique shops and, according the Food Network Channel, one of the most beautiful McDonald's restaurants in the world. Locally, Chimney Rock Park, where The Last of the Mohicans was filmed, is a perfect place to spend the day hiking and admiring the magnificent views. Quaint Bat Cave offers shopping and fudge shops. The Lake Lure area, the site of the Dirty Dancing filming, offers seasonal scenic boat tours, tennis, golf, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, biking, fishing, cinemas, gem mining, museums and restaurants. Just 20 away miles is Rutherfordton, where you can enjoy wonderful meals and great shopping. Thirty minutes away historic Hendersonville boasts antique shopping and live theater.

Check-in is between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In addition to the nightly rent there is a $20.00 Reservation Fee, $45.00 Damage Waiver, $85.00 Cleaning Service Fee, and 11.75% Tax on the rent (5% Rutherford County Occupancy Tax and 6.75% NC State Sales Tax).

It was disappointing to find out when we arrived that our property wasn't ready and had to wait until 3:30 to check in. The description of the property was a little misleading. We though we would be staying on Lake Lure and didn't realize until we arrived at the property that it was located on a very small private lake. Once we got settled in we grew to love the place. The home was very clean and spacious. The kitchen was very well stocked. The house itself was one of the nicer homes we've ever rented.
