Beautifully remodeled Apple Valley Villas (#13 and #14, w/adjoining door) in the Rumbling Bald Resort at Lake Lure, located between two championship golf courses, Bald Mountain and Apple Valley. All amenities of the private resort, nestled in the NC mountains on the north end of Lake Lure, are included!Very close to Chimney Rock.
In #13, the one described here, we decided to go with a golf-themed decor including dresser and antique wood-shafted golf clubs as decorations inside and on the outside deck to hang a tapestry. We added an old pot-bellied stove with a glass top for a rustic touch. Other antiques in #14.

*Lake Lure is a gorgeous mountain lake surrounded by steep cliffs and hidden homes in the thick forest sides. In the background is a tall, beautiful mountain scene which comprises Hickory Nut Gorge that is hypnotizing. The southern end is what most folks see, but we suggest you don't stop at the public beach and commercial areas of the small town. The northern end of the lake, with this incredible resort, is where the beauty of the lake and surrounding area is best appreciated.
*Chimney Rock is 20 minutes away and offers the most spectacular high altitude view of Hickory Nut Gorge and miles of hiking trails. Cool off in the mist of the Hickory Nut Falls.
*The Biltmore Estate, America's Largest Home, is a short drive away, or take the Biltmore Estate Shuttle, which leaves every Tuesday and Thursday morning, returning that afternoon after your tour. Rumbling Bald Resort started off as a Fairfield Resort,and is now a Wyndham development. It is a secure, private, first class resort, but without the high prices. If you are a golfer, check out the course rates, which include taxes and cart rentals.
Located at the north end of Lake Lure in the southern Blue Ridge Mountains. Not far from Asheville and Black Mountain.
