Quiet Cove Living on Lake Norman
|Per night||$250 - $350|
|Per week||$1,500 - $2,650|
The outdoor fire pit is a hit all year as well, while the 2 indoor stone fireplaces make everyone warm and toasty from fall through early spring. The hot tub is fun all year too.
Inside the house, the loft, with 3 single beds, overlooks the great room, with a soaring cathedral ceiling and a big stone fireplace. The master bedroom, with a private master bath, is also located on the 1st floor, along with a 2nd bedroom and another full bath. Completing the 1st floor are the dining room, screen porch/outdoor dining room, and complete kitchen with electric range and oven, refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster oven, mixer, and more.
The lower level has 2 more bedrooms and a 3rd full bath. It also has a large family room with a wet bar and another big stone fireplace. There's a wrap-around couch in front of the fireplace and TV, and also a futon for additional seating or sleeping.
The deck that spans the 1st floor in back of the house has a steel cable rail, so it doesn't block views of the private dock and the lake. The hot tub, with wrap-around deck and steps, is nestled in overhanging dogwood trees overlooking the lake. A few steps away is the large fire pit, great for cooking hotdogs or marshmallows, or warming up on a cool fall day.
The deep water dock averages 11 feet of depth, and even had 8 feet of water under it during the 2007 drought, so we could take boats out while many others were aground. Rent a boat nearby, or bring your own - the community boat ramp is about 150 yards down the street.
The dock also has 4 canvas swinging chairs (with cup holders) mounted on springs and swivels. Sitting in one of those chairs, sipping your favorite beverage, a cool breeze in the air...there just isn't a better way to relax. But if you have to work during your escape, don't worry...THE SECURE WIRELESS NETWORK WORKS AT THE DOCK!
Beds are arranged as follows:
1st floor master bedroom: 1 king bed
2nd 1st floor bedroom: 1 double bed
1st lower level bedroom: 1 double bed and 2 single bunk beds
2nd lower level bedroom: 2 single beds
Loft: 3 single beds, for children or adults
Lower level family room: Futon that opens into a double bed

Let me start by saying that this is a beautiful home and I'm sure at one time it was a dream lake house. The house is large but with absentee owners it's hard to stay on top of all the maintenance needed. (Weeds were growing through kitchen window, dishes were chipped and mismatched, mud wasps taking over boat house, weeds growing in between jet skis, dock aging with splinters, dock ladder was loose and unstable, slide is old and wobbles, acorns and tree droppings on stair case to lake, fireplaces need cleaning to improve the smell, it rained and the basement smelled of mildew). Despite all that, we had a great vacation. We rented a boat and were able to dock it next to the boat house, we did get stung by the wasps. Considering all the other lakes houses, on Lake Norman, that offer linens and other services, we'll stay some place else next year.
everything for all ages!!!

This home offers room for 15 with places for privacy and multiple indoor and outdoor gathering areas. 2 families rented this with teens, a baby, a young coyple , and older couple. Kitchen is great for gourmet meals with plenty of room for helpers. Owner has a stash of basic needs like salt and pepper. Brightly lit card table for 4 makes inside games fun. Screened dining for 10 along with indoor round table and breakfast bar for 6 makes serving meals diverse, along with outside picnic table. Beds are very comfortable and upkeep is easy with wood floors and granite surfaces. Master suite is exceptional for such a relaxed, affordable home. Lake slide, kayaks, and boat dock kept us busy. We rented a pontoon and was able to dock it there along with free docking while visiting Queens Landing. Loft is entire secret play place for young children and room for 3 to sleep in beds, more on floor if needed. We will be back. Hot tub, fire pit and view are the best feature.

My husband and I rented this house with some friends that we don't get to see often. It was the perfect "meet in the middle" location and we really enjoyed our stay. The house was very neat and organized. Once we hit the grocery store for a few food essentials we were set for the rest of the trip. Most of our time was spent at the dock chatting and enjoying the sun. I didn't want the temperature to drop in the evenings because I didn't want to leave the hanging swing chairs...ever! It wasn't cool enough for a fire at night so we spent our evenings on the back deck overlooking the lake which was just as wonderful (bug spray a must). The steps were a bit much but all the houses were the same, not too much you can do about the steps in that particular cove. And it was just another excuse to stay in the swing chairs. Mike was WONDERFUL to deal with. We would love to return!

Fall Family Fun
October 27, 2011
Enjoyed a great time with children and granchildren. The amenities provided enjoyment for those from ages 5 to 60. The home is as stated in advertising, with kayaks to use, a fire pit, board games, books and videos for all ages, a hot tub and several rooms to gather in for one-on-one or whole group conversation. We especially liked the kitchen adjoining the living room with an eat-at buffet in-between for family talks while we cooked. If you go in the fall, you can send the children out to gather walnuts for many hours. The lake provides a less active venue for fishing. I did not know how much I would appreciate the "quiet side" of Lake Norman until we became trapped in the traffic on the "other side". The only problem to our peace and quiet was construction happening on the other side of the cove and the all-day sound of chainsaws and back-up beepers. This, of course, was not the owner's fault and I am sure they will be through with their project soon. There is a steep slope down to the lake with many, many, many steps, so prepare for working the leg muscles. I don't understand how the kids were able to run up and down them 15 times in an afternoon...but then again, they slept well at night! The owner was easy to work with and communicated with me promptly to answer questions or to help out with the rental process. The information, directions and guidelines were clearly presented. The home itself was comfortable, not pretentious, and sufficiently clean..a good lake house property that I would recommend for families with children young or old any season of the year.

We had a 40th camp staff reunion in this ideal setting! It easily and comfortably accommodated our group with highlights being the hot tub, fire pit (perfect for singing around the fire) and the dock area with hanging chairs, kayaks and ample space to sit, relax and swim. The house was spacious with several open areas good for socializing. Mike, the owner, could not have been more helpful from the initial contact on. His detailed information about the house, food shopping and things to do in the area was excellent. Everyone agreed they would love to return!

My brother, sister, dad and their spouses joined my husband, son and I for a week vacation and this wonderful retreat. There are plenty of beds for an even larger group than ours. The house is shaded and stayed cool (with help from the AC). The kitchen and great room are spacious and we spent lots of time hanging out there. In addition the hottub is fantastic in the evenings and we took advantage of the dock with hammock chairs and kayaks on several days. The house is located on a more private end of the lake so there was not too much motorboat activity and it was safe for kayaking and swimming. The owner, Mike, is very responsive and we would definitely recommend the house to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

Beautiful home, we loved having the different levels to play, talk, and sleep. The only negative for our gathering was the yard, there was no outside play area for small children. Great for teens and adults. We totally enjoyed the fireplaces, it made our Christmas together special. The loft was an awesome place for our boys!

A wonderful family vacation with many unforgettable memories at this great vacation house on lake norman. Enough room for 17 adults ages 24-80! This place is even better than the pictures! Great views from the deck! Loved the hot tub and firepit! We especially enjoyed the use of the 3 kayaks provided for our use by the owner, Mike. Had great weather (60's). Mike was very helpful from the time i first inquired about the home. I would definitely come back to this home! We got our exercise walking down the steps to the dock but it was worth it! Would like to rent it in the summer sometime so we can use the slide! Thanks again Mike! P.S. The 2 indoor fireplaces were great too!

This is a perfect getaway. The house is very clean and well kept. Plenty of beds for larger groups. The dock is great and if you have time get the hammock chairs out. You will love it. The Kayaks were fun. Unfortunately we did not have time to enjoy the fire pit. We would definitely rent this house again. Mike, the owner, is great to work with.

When we pulled up to the property, it looked like a quaint little cottage, opened the door and the house just exploded into a wonderful get away location. Everything was great, beds, hot tub, fire pit, lake. We were amazed to be swimming in a lake in October! The steps to the lake were alittle much, but worth it. The dock is amazing, if you rent this property, be sure and take the hammock chairs to the dock, so worth it! Very clean, comfortable and pretty. Mike, the owner, is so nice to work with, responds to any emails/phone calls, offers suggestions, even sent us coupons!

If you are looking for a restful vacation in the Central portion of the Tarheel State, then this place is for you! We arrived the day after the summer season & the lake was still relatively warm, the kayaks worked GREAT & the Jacuzzi was perfect for those of us from Florida. I am from the area & spent a wonderful time during a reunion with both high school & college buddies. The house is very spacious with plenty of beds for everyone, lots of bedrooms with TVs in everyone. Don’t worry about cooking & eating utenzils, the place is fully stocked! Plenty of wood available for either of the two fireplaces &/or the outdoor fire pit! Spent one day in Blowing Rock….just an hour away. The place is well maintained & we all felt like we were at home. Will probably return in the future & have already recommended the home to other coworkers.

The best vacation for our families. The house is a youngsters paradise with kayaks, water slide, fishing, high dive next door. Lovely setting in the woods providing cooler than normal temps in the evening for sitting around the fire ring or back porch. Evening and morning fishing good for bass and catfish. Hybrides (small) plentiful along the shore line with #16 hooks for kids. House is in excellent condition and well kept considering the continuous summer rental. Plenty of child tapes to occupy the young ones during idle times. I would certainly recommend this property. One air conditioner went out and the owner had it fixed within 24 hours.

This home was above and beyond what I expected, the pictures do not do it justice! We had a girls' weekend with 10 of us, and everyone had plenty of space and their own bed. The owner was very informative and so helpful. The home was well-maintained, clean, comfortable, spacious, and it had so much to do, between the hot tub, firepit, dock with waterslide and swings, kayaks...we stayed very entertained! We will definitely be making a return trip(s).

My family and I had a wonderful stay, and we had the perfect kitchen/ amenities to prepare everything for my Sister's Baby Shower. This house was everything I expected and more. The house was just so well maintained and clean. It was such an easy process, since the owner was so great with providing me with all the details, we had a great agenda to go by which included all we needed to know about the house. I would love to rent this vacation home again in the summer, and I would recommend this beautiful rental to all my friends and family. I cannot wait to stay here again with my family. Thanks again to the owners for everything, it is so nice to find such wonderful and sincere customer service. Sincerely, Jessica R.

I just wanted to let you know how much my family enjoyed your vacation home. With the amount of bedroom space you have, we were able to get three couples and all their children comfortably accommodated. We rent vacation homes in alot of vacation destinations, and unfortunatly sometimes they are not exactly as nice as advertised. Let me just say, your home is beautifully furnished and we found it to be very clean. We enjoyed being able to dock our boat and jet-skis in the protected cove just off of Lake Norman. All of the children enjoyed swimming and diving off of the dock, but especially liked the water slide. The evenings were relaxing spent in the hot tub, and around the fire pit. We will recommend your place to our family and friends, and I think you will find that our family will be taking advantage of your place in the future. Thanks, Rick, Tina, Sophia and friends.

Love it, Love it, Love it! My family and I just returned from your wonderful lake house. What a vacation. Your home has the Three Cs I always look for: clean, cozy and comfortable; but yet spacious enough for all 12 of us. We all really enjoyed the dock watching the kids swim, fish, and just relaxing. We cannot wait until next year; I can already taste the smores at the fire pit. Thank you for the relaxing vacation we so desperately needed.

Our family just returned from a week at this awesome lake house. Each year for the past 5 years we have gone to a different lake to expose our 5 kids (plus friends) to different parts of the US. This was a GREAT house, especially for the price. We had a total of 10 people, all over the age of 15 and we never felt cramped in the house. The layout of the house was wonderful since the teens took over the basement and we basically stayed on the main level. The cove was quiet and we took advantage of the 3 kayaks the owner has on site. We spent the majority of our lake time in the upper, quieter area of the lake around the lake house - we did travel to the larger main part of the lake one day, but water is water and it is much less crowded in the upper area by the house. It was especially wonderful that the grocery store was close (5-7 miles)! And not much further away, we had a wide choice of restaurants although we only ate out one night. The owner was very easy to deal with and easy to reach for questions both before and during our stay! THANK YOU!

We just returned from a family trip to the house, and absolutely had a great time. So much so, we only left the house once to eat dinner in town. The house was spacious and very clean, and suited every need that we had. We enjoyed the dock on a quiet "no wake" cove with plenty of water for jumping in. My young children enjoyed hoisting the pirate flag, and couldn't get enough of the water slide. They also enjoyed the kayaks, as well as did the adults. The deck was very comfortable, as it was always in the shade, a much needed break with as hot as it was. There was easy access to get the boats in the water, and plenty of room to tie up at the dock. The lake was beautiful and clean. Nothing bad to say about the whole trip. Owner is extremely easy to work with, and is always available for questions. Responses are fast, and the whole process was very easy. Would return in a heartbeat.
