Lake Tawakoni is about 40 miles east of Dallas. Lake Tawakoni offers 37,879 acres of surface area and 70 feet of maximum depth with more than five miles of shoreline and a variety of activities, including swimming, fishing, boating, mountain biking, geocaching, hiking and birding. Striped bass, hybrid striped bass and white bass are vital to the local economy, providing excellent fisheries especially in the lake's open water areas. Striped and hybrid bass are stocked annually by TPWD to maintain the fisheries. Channel and blue catfish are abundant, along with limited numbers of flathead catfish. Largemouth bass is also a popular sportfish in this reservoir. Crappie fishing can be good around standing timber, bridge pilings, and artificial fish attractors.

"I stayed here with family and friends in early November. The cabin is very roomy and everything was clean and well kept. Satellite television was included; the computer is also hooked up to the TV and offers plenty of movies. Although the water level was low, we still were able to get on the water with the provided kayaks. The owner was very nice and worked with our schedule. The neighbor, who helps out the owner let us in and showed us around. He was very friendly and even offered to share his guest Wi-Fi password with us. Overall this place was worth the price and we had a great time we would definitely come back! " Dec 04, 2013

"It was a pleasant stay... very peaceful." - January 2014

"What a weekend! The lake house was exactly as we expected. Calm and peaceful. Although it rained during our stay. The indoor fire place was worth sitting inside around the fire. Our friends that joined us were amazed by the neighbors hospitality. What a great place to get away! We were able to find everything we needed from extra blankets to all ammenities. The home is very well taken care of and very clean. Made me feel like I was at home. We made new memories at Tai's lake house and he was a great accomedating us during our stay. Thanks again! We will definitely come back again! :)" February 2014

"Everything was great! I really appreciate all of the accommodations that the house had to offer, definitely more than we expected." February 2014

"We all loved the place, and really enjoyed our weekend there. This is a great getaway from the Dallas area, and I'll be sure to recommend it. Thanks for everything," - March 2014

"We all loved the place, and really enjoyed our weekend there. This is a great getaway from the Dallas area, and I'll be sure to recommend it. Thanks for everything... Some friends and I planned a short weekend getaway to stay on the Lake, and we had a great time at this property. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the addition of the canoes was a big plus. Tai was great to work with, available, and attentive, and the neighbors who let us in and got us acquainted with the place were very warm and friendly people to our group. I'd highly recommend this place. Especially if you live in the Dallas area, it's close enough for convenience, but far enough to get away from it all. I wouldn't be surprised if I book this one again sometime!" March 2014

"We all had a great time at the house. You were very open and honest with everything about the house and area, offered a lot more amenities that I feel most people do not, and it was in a nice quite area. Although I wasn't the person who used the kayak, I know he really like being able to get into the lake and paddle around for a little bit." March 2014

"We had a good time and enjoyed the house this weekend... We had a guide take us out on the lake and we caught our limit of catfish! Two were channel cats and the rest were blue. Our biggest catch of the day was a 32 lb blue cat. It's a great lake for fishing and we had a lot of fun! Thanks again!" March 2014

"The house was nice, the (lake) water level was a little disappointing but I know you have no control over that." March 2014

"The kids had a blast with canoeing and kayaking. I will tell my coworkers about your place. Thanks for everything." May 2014

"This was my first time using airbnb and it went super smooth with Tai's help. Tai's lake house was a very nice get away for a group of guys. He provided everything we might need and we had a blast. We would definitely stay again. Everything was as advertised. Also the town of Quinlan has everything that a lake visitor needs." April 2014

"We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay. The low lake level presented a challenge with getting the canoes to and from the water but we easily overcame. We'll be keeping your place on our favorites list." May 2014

"We really enjoyed the lake house. There were only three of us staying at the house but it was wonderful. We would do it again. It was a nice peaceful place to go and relax at the end of the day. Thanks again for working with us. We would definitely like to stay there in the future if the need arises." May 2014

"Your place is nice!" June 2014

"We had a wonderful time. We cleaned up pretty good before leaving this morning. We didn't catch a lot of fish, but there is always another day. Thank you so very much. We look forward to seeing you again, and renting the lake house as well." June 2014

"We enjoyed our time at your lake house very much. We loved the open, spacious feel and view from the great room. Our beds were very comfortable and the linens smelled refreshingly clean. We were happy that the bathrooms were clean too. Overall though, we were pleased. If the water level was up and we were able to dock our boats, we would want to book it multiple times a year. We'll keep praying for rain!" June 2014
