Baby Island Lodge is the perfect setting for your family vacation or time with close friends. Sleeps 10 in 6 rooms. Imagine a full-surround garden mural gracing a large gathering room with an excellent antique upright grand piano and opening to the front lawn and garden enclosed with an exquisite vine covered lattice fence. A VCR movie collection is housed in the large coat closet.

The sitting room is a warm deep red with a large stone fireplace and wood pass through for convenience. Here the house music system is located while volume is controlled in three separate areas of Baby Island Lodge. Enjoy sitting by the fire with a good book, a guitar or take a leisurely nap on the sofa. There is a small eclectic library, two easy chairs and a large antique oak table which expands to seat everyone for fireside dining. This room, as well as the sun room, kitchen, dining room, master bedroom and Mountain Room look out to Saratoga Strait and the islands and mountains beyond.

The sun room also has hand-glazed walls and is the perfect place for a puzzle or game with the kids, a hand of cards or a private conversation. The sofa in this room is a great napping place too. You will find yourself drifting here for a quiet gaze toward the water, to watch the eagles or the seals on Baby Island just in front of the house. When the tide is out you won't be able to resist a little exploration.

The dining room opens to the decks, one with two picnic tables and large gas barbecue, the other with hot tub and several comfortable sling chairs. Inside there is a large table in the dining room. Between the dining room and the professional kitchen is a buffet serving area designed with your family's convenience in mind. The kitchen features a giant double glass-door refrigerator, gas range with griddle, huge oven and grill. The floor is padded and the countertops high for no-ache cooking. The kitchen at Baby island Lodge is as well equipped as the rest of the house with pots and pans, serving dishes and everything you might need to make your feasting perfect. There are two very large deep sinks as well as a prep sink, two garbage disposals and the dishwasher opening to the dish cupboards. You can literally put away the dishes without moving from in front of the dishwasher. Large drawers and ample cupboards house a host of small appliances and equipment as well as many of the food staples you may forget to bring with you.

The master bedroom is also on the first floor with a private bath, it's own Bose sound, gas fireplace, TV/VCR/Cable, gate-leg table to open for private supper, and a queen size Murphy bed which folds to the wall allowing this exotic space to be used as a small sitting room. A small private deck, silk sari curtains and hand-painted mural make this a magical space for the wedding couple.

On the second floor there are two charming large bedrooms. Each has a queen size bed and two singles and a large full bathroom divided so that 3 people can use the bathroom at once with privacy. In addition, 3 spare rooms have 2 single beds in each.
The grounds are a groomed park environment with two patios, a swing, a hammock in the fern garden under the deck, expansive view and fire circle overlooking the water. Anything you need is 7 miles away in Freeland or Langley, parks, tennis, golf, shopping, hiking all within a short drive.
Baby Island Lodge was designed for family gatherings with enchantment, comfort and flexibility in mind. You will want to return here with your family or friends in the years to come.

Whidbey Island is mostly rural, tranquil and pleasant. There are a few very small towns to explore and local historical exhibits. The beaches vary from sandy to rocky and are easily accessible. There are a few restaurants, golf courses, one athletic club, antique stores and the usual small town businesses. Mostly people come here to do absolutely nothing.
