More then we imagined...

Our trip to Maine was incredible. The house is right on the lake which was great for fishing and kayaking. We were able to bring our two dogs which made the trip so much more relaxing, and they just loved the lake and hiking in the woods. The house had every we needed and then some. Sitting out on the deck overlooking the lake was so peaceful. We saw loons and an eagle and while fishing caught some big and small mouth bass. It was close to some great liitle towns we visited and about an hour from Acadia/Bar Harbor which is just spectacular. The house is very secluded and private with hiking trails everywhere. I can't name one thing that we didn't like except that our trip wasn't longer. We can't wait to go back.

Just Amazing

This rental exceeded our expectations. The house is at the end of a long private road atop a hill overlooking pristine St. George Lake. Our two families of 4 adults, 5 children and 2 dogs fit comfortably with lots of room to spare. The loft upstairs has 6 twin beds and 1 full bed. The two private rooms downstairs on the main level have 2 queen beds. The ground level has two bedrooms, one with 2 twin beds and the other with a full size bed. This floor also offers a large play room for kids which has a small t.v. and a DVD player. For those who love the water, there are two 2 man kayaks, 1 canoe, 1 paddle boat and 1 row boat on site. Seriously, just bring your sheets and not much else. Buy food when you get there if you need as the price of food is very reasonable even at the Sunoco corner store. Many of the odds and ends are provided...salt, sugar, pepper,etc. We just replaced what we used. They have laundry facilities on site as towels for the lake. Don't bring life jackets either, they have around 10 or so mixed sizes. Just a note about the lay of the shore, it goes from grassy, mossy forest to water about 1 foot deep to 8 feet deep in about 12 feet or so. There is no beach for younger children to play on. Every day we heard the call of the loons on the water and the resident bald eagle also made an appearance in a nearby tree. Friendly locals and quaint nearby towns such as Camden and Belfast made our stay complete. We highly recommend this vacation home.

Great lake house on clean lake

Our family really enjoyed our stay at the lake house. It was a cozy place with great decor! The owners were very attentive and thought of everything. The location of the house is right between several tourist sites (Belfast, Camden) but far enough away to throughly relax and enjoy yourself! We plan to go back next year for sure.

Blueberry Bliss

Our two families had a wonderful stay in this private house on Lake St. George. Fishing was outstanding for lg & sm mouth bass, water was crystal clear, and the kids had a blast out on Blueberry Island. Our dog enjoyed himself too! We hiked the mountain at the end of the drive to see the spectacular view of the entire lake. We saw loons and a bald eagle. We picked wild blueberries for a pie. We sat around the fire and roasted marshmallows. We visited the quaint shopping areas of Belfast, Camden and Lincolnville Beach. The house was plenty big enough for our two families, and although disappointed at first over the lack of WIFI and cable TV, I am glad to know we can survive a week without. Overall a GREAT trip!

We LOVED our family vacation at this property. Our kids are ages 2 through 8 and had a great time. It is everything described in the posting and more. We enjoyed being close to the lake; fishing, kayaking & swimming were all wonderful. There was plenty of room in the house, and it was very well stocked for cooking large meals etc. It's a gorgeous location off the beaten path!

Our stay at this lake house was wonderful! There was plenty of room for the 4 adults and 5 children in our party. The children had a blast playing down by the lake, exploring the woods, and "discovering" the island just off the shore. All the while, the adults relaxed in the comfort of the bright, but cozy house.

Fall getaway

My husband and I were looking for a peace and quiet vacation. This house was secluded and beautiful! In the morning, we wook up to loons and even a couple of eagles! We were able to take our dog who had a fantastic time. We went fishing, lit a fire in the fire pit and our dog went swimming and played. The house is beautiful. Very secluded and had more amenities than we thought. The owners of the house were attentive and answered all our questions. We hope to be able to come baack for a longer period of time.

Liberty Means Freedom! Freedom from all Worries!

This was the perfect place to get away from all worries and stress. It is a beautiful, immaculate home overlooking a clean lake, where we spent all day swimming and fishing. Our 4 children were completely entertained and loved swimming to the dock and blueberry island and kayaking. There is a great play room on the first floor that allowed us some separation from one another when needed. Fully stacked kitchen. We hardly left the place in the 7 days we were there. We highly recommend this property, if you're looking for the perfect get-away from this crazy world we live in.

Relaxation Point

If you are looking to sit back and relax, read a book, get away from all the hustle and bustle, this is IT! We had 5 amazing days of peace. Bunny had everything that we needed to stay at this beautiful cabin. Only thing we had to get was food and our clothes! Extremely dog friendly. Our dogs did not want to leave the place either! We were also able to make a day trip to Portland. Moxie Falls is a must, and so is a dip in the lake! Make sure that you bring bug spray. We are definitely coming back!
