Description of the Lincoln vacation home rental
If you have ever vacationed on the Maine coast, you know it is beautiful but you also know how crowded it can be. This summer home is centrally located 2 hours from Bar Harbor/Acadia Nat'l Park, 2 hours from Lubec, and 1.5 hours from Mt Katahdin. If you want to visit those areas (and others), but want to return home to your own secluded oasis - this is where you should be.
So, you can come to Maine and do everything - or - you can come to Maine and enjoy doing absolutely nothing at all except relax.
Area Information
Rafting/canoing/kayaking: The lake itself is actually three connected lakes. You couldn't possibly paddle the whole area. Less than 3 miles away is the Penobscot River. The Penobscot is absolutely breathtaking by boat/canoe/kayak. If you are looking for faster water, a short drive north puts you right in the middle of the action.
Fishermen: The lake itself is loaded with largemouth and smallmouth bass. This has been a catch and release only lake for over 15 years. The Penobscot River (3 miles away), and particularly this stretch of Penobscot River was featured in BassMaster Magazine as quite possibly the best smallmouth fishing in the country.
Sightseeing: Go any direction (N,E,S,or W). Everything is a convenient day trip from this location

Other Vacation Rental Amenities
For kids: Wade, fish off the dock, fish from a boat, float around on a raft, get pulled around the lake on a raft or skis (your parents will have to bring their boat), canoe, kayak, pick blueberries from the shoreline, watch nature, bike the camp roads - just be a kid!
The lake DOES have a public launch for your boat. The property DOES have a 40 foot dock and mooring whips. If you need electric to your boat, bring a 100' extension cord. There is power from land to a mooring whip (base of a birch tree). Your cord will go from the house to the base of the birch tree and you'll have all the power you need to charge your boat batteries.

This vacation rental is the best we've ever stayed at. It is everything it is advertised as and more. The fishing is great and we stopped counting after 50 for the week. The house itself was very well stocked and clean and neat. The yard was our magnificent with a large hammock, bonfire pit and beautiful views of the lake. The owners are super conscientious! We highly recommend this vacation rental!

Long Pond home

The home was beautiful, very well kept and quite comfortable. We had inclement weather the first few days, but enjoyed the peaceful, quiet setting. It is a good hour drive to the state parks and hiking areas, so if you are planning on a lot of that type of activity make sure you allow driving time. Everything we needed as far as any supplies were easily found in Lincoln which is only about a 10 minute drive. We had a wonderful stay. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is an excellent choice. The owners were very accomodating and had someone there within 10 minutes to let us in when we locked ourselve out!! Mark and Gina have a VERY nice place!

Excellent Vacation Spot with everything!

We had an excellent stay! Spending our days on the pond fishing (the boat landing is really close, then you can tie off your boat to the dock). Our one rainy day was spent enjoying satellite tv, highspeed internet, playing card games. This camp really does have everything. Kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, etc... It is close to places for food shopping and supplies, but just far enough out where there is not a lot of people. We caught bass on long pond, then made our way to the attached ponds for some pickerel. Nights were spent making s'mores on the fire and looking up at the stars. The only problem with a place like this...the week goes by to fast! I'm definitely keeping this place in mind for future vacations, in hopes of spending more than one week.

We loved the house, the lake was beuatiful. The owners were great to communicate with the couple problems that we encountered. It was very easy to find and get to. We loved one of the pieces of furniture(the hutch) in the house and we emailed the owners to ask them were they got it. She told me she actually bought it from the previous owners of the house because they loved it so much, she told me she would let me know where it came from the next time they visit the house. We loved the loft. The view from the screened in porch was great, we watched the birds on the feeder all day. The fishing was great, caught a few fish(a little too small to keep, but it was fun.) We enjoyed the paddle boat also. Sunrise was very pretty over the lake.

34 Cedar Lane August 2010 vacation

We have stayed in the Lincoln area on Caribou/Long Pond every summer over the last 5 years. 34 Cedar Lane cabin was the nicest week of all. The cabin is beautiful and the addition of wireless internet and DirecTV made it perfect. Fishing was great for pickerel and bass. Camefires at night and a great screened in area in case the bugs are out, or it rains. We absolutely love it.

Perfect Family Vacation Spot

Location and set up of this home is perfect for a family vacation. We enjoyed exploring long pond and surrounding bodies of water, fishing from the dock, and relaxing in the hammock. The screened in porch was perfect for taking in the beautiful landscape in the evening. The beds were very comfortable, and waking up to the call of loons was a bonus. I would definately recommend this rental if you enjoy boating, fishing or just relaxing. The views are beautiful and the owners are very helpful. Hope you enjoy your Maine vacation as much as we did.

This is a very cute, comfortable house on a lake with a beautiful view! Very relaxing. Lake is crystal clear and offers fishing, boating and swimming. We were very sorry to leave. We would highly recommend a visit to Long Pond and this is the perfect house to enjoy it!

If your looking for a great quiet getaway loaded with fishing/boating and relaxation then this is it.We stayed at this house which was kept very clean neat and tidy.Our week there the temps were high eighties to low nineties which was great.Its perfect for the outdoorsy type people but not for someone looking to hit the town as there is not much to do in Lincoln.

We spent a wonderful week here. I'd never been to Maine before. It was a fabulous house (can't really call it a cabin). Spent our time bass fishing, cruising the lake and taking in the local cusine. I'd highly recommend it. From what I could tell this was the very best place on the whole lake.
