Description of the Lincoln vacation home rental
Swim, canoe, kayak, fish, or just relax on the dock or the hammock and listen to the loons. The home is exquisite, built in knotty pine, in a cabin woods theme, but filled with all the amenities to add to your comfort. The lake is serene and filled with fish for the sportsman.

If you have ever vacationed on the Maine coast, you know it is beautiful but you also know how crowded it can be. This summer home is centrally located 2 hours from Bar Harbor/Acadia Nat'l Park, 2 hours from Lubec, and 1.5 hours from Mt Katahdin. If you want to visit those areas (and others), but want to return home to your own secluded oasis - this is where you should be.

So, you can come to Maine and do everything - or - you can come to Maine and enjoy doing absolutely nothing at all except relax.
Area Information
Lincoln, ME has a very rich history of its own. The property is only 8 miles from town. Lincoln has everything you will need as far as food, fuel, sundries, craft shopping, etc.

Rafting/canoing/kayaking: The lake itself is actually three connected lakes. You couldn't possibly paddle the whole area. Less than 3 miles away is the Penobscot River. The Penobscot is absolutely breathtaking by boat/canoe/kayak. If you are looking for faster water, a short drive north puts you right in the middle of the action.

Fishermen: The lake itself is loaded with largemouth and smallmouth bass. This has been a catch and release only lake for over 15 years. The Penobscot River (3 miles away), and particularly this stretch of Penobscot River was featured in BassMaster Magazine as quite possibly the best smallmouth fishing in the country.

Sightseeing: Go any direction (N,E,S,or W). Everything is a convenient day trip from this location

Other Vacation Rental Amenities
Lincoln has two or three quaint craft shops on Main Street. You can spend a bit of time enjoying learning about the history of Lincoln. The people are warm & friendly.

For kids: Wade, fish off the dock, fish from a boat, float around on a raft, get pulled around the lake on a raft or skis (your parents will have to bring their boat), canoe, kayak, pick blueberries from the shoreline, watch nature, bike the camp roads - just be a kid!

The lake DOES have a public launch for your boat. The property DOES have a 40 foot dock and mooring whips. If you need electric to your boat, bring a 100' extension cord. There is power from land to a mooring whip (base of a birch tree). Your cord will go from the house to the base of the birch tree and you'll have all the power you need to charge your boat batteries.

The perfect location, the perfect lakefront cabin

July 30, 2014

My family, 15-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter, and I just got home from staying at this Long Pond cabin. Honestly, it exceeded all our expectations. The lake is quiet, beautiful sunrise views in the early morning, still and glassy waters, with campfires right beside the lake at night. We saw loons and hummingbirds almost every day. My daughter fished almost every day and always caught something. The cabin was very clean, spacious, the screened in back porch very large with wonderful view of lake and yard. Neighbors friendly but quiet. Great location - one hour from Mount Katahdin, two hours from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, and the nearest town of Lincoln (10-15 minutes from cabin) has everything - Walmart, local grocery with fresh lobster!!!, great second-hand and antique stores downtown - all of which we visited. All boats and flotation devices in great condition - we used them every day - a double kayak, a single kayak, paddle boat, and canoe, all with their own oars. That was a huge bonus next to other cabins in the area. The rooms in the cabin were so comfortable and each quite large, can easily sleep 6 in beds, and eight with downstairs pullout bed. T.V. in living room and T.V.s in two out of three bedrooms, reliable Wi-Fi (never a problem), DVD player in living room. Eat-in kitchen with all appliances, place settings already there; great room concept with kitchen completely open to living room - we loved that, because we could talk while cooking and relaxing. The owner is prompt, reliable, great with communication, honest, and has quaint special touches (photos, decorations) all throughout the house that make the cabin even more ideal and just fun to look at. The smell of sweet pine trees is everywhere, the cool morning breezes come in the windows all day and night long, even the yard is very nicely manicured with aged trees and pleasant landscaping. I have been home three days and already miss it, it really felt like a home away from home. I would recommend this to anyone considering taking a trip to Maine. I have stayed in cabins all over the United States, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Colorado, West Virginia, Virginia, South Carolina, and this is by far the nicest cabin I have ever visited. Well worth the price. If we ever come to Maine again, I will be staying at this Long Pond home. Thank you, Gina (owner), for helping to give my family such happy and long-lasting memories of this vacation.

July 14, 2014

This is our 4th year staying here. We love it here, couldn't be more perfect. A catch and release pond with huge bass, every husband's dream. The cabin is clean and homey and the owners are wonderful.

Amazing family getaway

July 11, 2012

This vacation rental is the best we've ever stayed at. It is everything it is advertised as and more. The fishing is great and we stopped counting after 50 for the week. The house itself was very well stocked and clean and neat. The yard was our magnificent with a large hammock, bonfire pit and beautiful views of the lake. The owners are super conscientious! We highly recommend this vacation rental!

Long Pond home

November 17, 2011

The home was beautiful, very well kept and quite comfortable. We had inclement weather the first few days, but enjoyed the peaceful, quiet setting. It is a good hour drive to the state parks and hiking areas, so if you are planning on a lot of that type of activity make sure you allow driving time. Everything we needed as far as any supplies were easily found in Lincoln which is only about a 10 minute drive. We had a wonderful stay. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is an excellent choice. The owners were very accomodating and had someone there within 10 minutes to let us in when we locked ourselve out!! Mark and Gina have a VERY nice place!

Excellent Vacation Spot with everything!

August 24, 2011

We had an excellent stay! Spending our days on the pond fishing (the boat landing is really close, then you can tie off your boat to the dock). Our one rainy day was spent enjoying satellite tv, highspeed internet, playing card games. This camp really does have everything. Kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, etc... It is close to places for food shopping and supplies, but just far enough out where there is not a lot of people. We caught bass on long pond, then made our way to the attached ponds for some pickerel. Nights were spent making s'mores on the fire and looking up at the stars. The only problem with a place like this...the week goes by to fast! I'm definitely keeping this place in mind for future vacations, in hopes of spending more than one week.

Great Place

September 27, 2010

We loved the house, the lake was beuatiful. The owners were great to communicate with the couple problems that we encountered. It was very easy to find and get to. We loved one of the pieces of furniture(the hutch) in the house and we emailed the owners to ask them were they got it. She told me she actually bought it from the previous owners of the house because they loved it so much, she told me she would let me know where it came from the next time they visit the house. We loved the loft. The view from the screened in porch was great, we watched the birds on the feeder all day. The fishing was great, caught a few fish(a little too small to keep, but it was fun.) We enjoyed the paddle boat also. Sunrise was very pretty over the lake.

34 Cedar Lane August 2010 vacation

August 28, 2010

We have stayed in the Lincoln area on Caribou/Long Pond every summer over the last 5 years. 34 Cedar Lane cabin was the nicest week of all. The cabin is beautiful and the addition of wireless internet and DirecTV made it perfect. Fishing was great for pickerel and bass. Camefires at night and a great screened in area in case the bugs are out, or it rains. We absolutely love it.

Perfect Family Vacation Spot

August 9, 2010

Location and set up of this home is perfect for a family vacation. We enjoyed exploring long pond and surrounding bodies of water, fishing from the dock, and relaxing in the hammock. The screened in porch was perfect for taking in the beautiful landscape in the evening. The beds were very comfortable, and waking up to the call of loons was a bonus. I would definately recommend this rental if you enjoy boating, fishing or just relaxing. The views are beautiful and the owners are very helpful. Hope you enjoy your Maine vacation as much as we did.

Great Place!

December 30, 2009

We spent a wonderful week here. I'd never been to Maine before. It was a fabulous house (can't really call it a cabin). Spent our time bass fishing, cruising the lake and taking in the local cusine. I'd highly recommend it. From what I could tell this was the very best place on the whole lake.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

From the Owner: Perhaps I am biased. I spent every summer of my childhood on this lake and taking daytrips to visit other areas of Maine. Personally, I cherish every moment spent in the area over the years with my family and friends. I hope you do as well.
