Perched on a ridge overlooking the 45-acre mountain lake created by damming the Linville River, Linville Lake View is a comfortable and private vacation property with many appealing features. Linville Land Harbor is a unique community located on the Eastern Continental Divide at an elevation of 3,600 feet. It is one of the oldest resort communities in the area, established in 1969 initially as a campground that has evolved into a mixture of homes, cottages, park model campers, and RV sites. A vacation at Linville Land Harbor offers a wide range of activities both within the community and in the surrounding area—all within easy access due to its central location.

Linville Lake View is a late model 36-foot camper that is open for rental from April through October

Outdoors at Linville Lake View
Amazing “tree house” covered deck perched above the lake with long views of the water and mountains. This is where you will want to spend as much time as you can enjoying the spectacular views.
Wonderful privacy with thick hemlock hedges and extensive rhododendron on the property.
Outdoor stone fireplace made from rock blasted from Grandfather Mountain when that attraction was developed in the 1950’s.
At 3,600 feet elevation, the highest average temperature in the summer at Linville Lake View has never been above 77 degrees.

Linville Land Harbor is a 704-acre property located two miles South of Linville, NC on US 221. Coursing directly through the property is the scenic Linville River with miles of trails along the river and the lake. Fishing and canoeing are favorite pastimes here, and in the summer, a full schedule of activities is available through the clubhouse.

Grandfather Mountain – Explore this globally-recognized nature preserve on the highest NC peak in the Blue Ridge.
Esseola Golf and Country Club and Esseola Lodge – One of the premier private clubs in the resort area, the dining room is open to the public and a spectacle not to be missed. Jackets and ties required.
Blue Ridge Parkway – Started in 1935, this amazing ridge top road provides access to some of the most beautiful country America has to offer.
Linville Viaduct – The last section of the Blue Ridge Parkway to be completed in the 1980’s, this engineering marvel soars over the edge of Grandfather Mountain providing the most impressive views anywhere along the entire Parkway route.

Linville Falls – Continue further south, the river cascades off the mountain creating several divergent falls. There are great trails all around the falls which can be reached from the Parkway or from US 221 near the town of Linville Falls.
Linville Gorge – After passing over the falls, the river creates the largest and deepest gorge east of the Mississippi river as it flows toward the Catawba River.

Linville Caverns – Further down US 221 are the most famous caverns in North Carolina. This is a great year-round activity for young and old alike.

Sugar Mountain – Longest ski slope in NC
Banner Elk - this valley town has numerous excellent restaurants, shops, weekend arts festivals, walking trails along the Elk River, and other activities.

Boone – The “big city” in the Blue Ridge, home of Appalachian State University and the main location for shopping.
Blowing Rock – The other historic resort town of the Blue Ridge, Blowing Rock is a little more cosmopolitan with a wider variety of shops and activities than Linville. Don’t miss their wonderful art festivals.
